I love this cover and it fits the story perfectly! It's very intriguing and gorgeous. As mentioned in the description, Lucy is a ghost and a lot of mystery surrounds the reasons why.

I get a little leery of paranormal stories because some of them are really far out there, but this one, even though there's black magic and the occult, was handled in a clever way that didn't leave me feeling icky. I really enjoyed the mystery of it all and the way things unfolded. There's plenty of adventure, magic

Got myself a pre-ordered copy of this book from Amazon (the cover and premise look really cool), and I'm so glad I did!
Lucy and Philip were flawed yet likable characters (the best kind), and I loved rooting for them. I don't want to spoil anything, but the rats were especially creepy. This is an excellent book for those that want something scary, thrilling and romantic but still clean.
I'm expecting great things in the future from E. B. Wheeler. She has a great style, and it really pulled me into

This book grabs your attention from the beginning and pulls you along for a great mystery and romance.

Lucy is a ghost who awakens without a memory. She is surprised at her condition, she doesn't remember dying or who she is. The book begins as she is trying to unravel her predicament and discover why she is haunting Springett Hall.

Soon she meets the Assistant Games Keeper. He also is suffering from lack of memory. The two sense from the beginning that they are somehow connected. As they begin to

By E.B. Wheeler

She doesn't remember her past, only the blackness. He knows only as far back as two days ago. Something or someone has drawn them to Springett Hall. If only they could remember...

The Haunting of Springett Hall is a story of second chances. A second chance at life. A second chance at love.

Lucy Tregarrick's dissatisfaction with the life she had has lead her to the situation in which she now finds herself. She has failed at something, if only she

4.5 STARS!!

I picked this book up the other night and couldn't put it down. It was such a fun book to read. It was an interesting take on haunting :).

Lucy wakes up one evening and cannot remember who she is or why she is where she is. Her skin seems translucent and she can walk through people. When she realizes that she is dead, she feels lost.

She finally runs into a young man named Phillip and realizes that someone can actually see her. There is more to Phillip than meets the eye. Together they

I'm an instant gratification type of reader and will only be patient for so long. So when I started reading I was immediately grabbed by the mystery of Lucy's predicament and her plight. I had remembered the reviews on the back of the book and while reading I was struck by how true their reviews were. The twists of plot, the possibility of being the good guy, then the bad guy, then just surviving. I enjoyed the psychological exploration of self, meaning selfish versus selfless. I also liked the ...more

Stayed up till 2 am finishing this. The writing is beautiful, the romance made me tingle, the plot line twists and curves and doesn't leave room for disappointment.

The characters are believable and lovable. Their struggles, weaknesses, and fears make it easy to connect to them and really pull me in to want to see how they overcome them.

Overall, a wonderful book. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and vivid read.

Talk about a ghost story!

I've been sick, and reading a bit more than usual since I'm too exhausted to do much else. Read this whole story yesterday, after having my son pick it up from the library. There is mystery, ghosts, hauntings, dark magic, a creepy bad guy, an elaborate Victorian Estate and the blossoming of love.

Great characters, great setting, interesting plot and enough mystery to keep me on my toes. Really enjoyed this debut novel by E.B. Wheeler!

First of all, I love this cover! Lucy is 18 years old and realizes right away that she's a ghost but has no idea what happened to her. The only person who can see her is Philip, who doesn't remember who he is, either, so he's passing himself off as the assistant gamekeeper. They quickly realize that they were involved with Sir Jason Springett and were with him the night he died but the details are fuzzy.

There's plenty of mystery as Lucy and Philip try to figure out who they were and what happen

I love a good ghost story. This one has all the best parts, an evil spirit, black magic, freaky rats, and romance (among other things). Lucy and Philip were perfect characters to read about in that they were far from perfect. They had messed up seriously, and we're trying to redeem themselves. The themes of light verses dark filled the story and gave it some excellent weight. The ending was also quite satisfying and sweet.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes a clean supernatural romance. I

I won this book on a good reads giveaway. I wasn't sure if I liked this book at first but was glad I continued reading. I really enjoyed it in the end.

A ghost defies a mysterious foe in a creepy Victorian mansion, with a charming romance to boot. What's not to love?

As I read THE HAUNTING OF SPRINGETT HALL, I found myself digging up anxious inner feelings that had long been dormant since I was a teenager racing home from school to watch the next episode of DARK SHADOWS on television. I was hooked then, and this book had the same effect on me now, many, many years later. I was surprised. I usually avoid reading anything of the supernatu

This was so much better than I expected it to be. It grabs you right away with the mystery of what was going on. Lucy did not even know who she was or where she was. It was a ghost story like no other ghost story I have read. It was more of a mystery suspense story. Plenty of mystery, romance, action, paranormal, black magic and second chances.

Lucy appears in the mansion with no idea who she is or what happened to her. She can tell the people of the manor are in mourning, but are they mourning h

I stayed up past 1 AM to finish this book, despite already being sleep-deprived. It is a well-told story with vivid description and period details. The lead characters are likeable but certainly not "perfect". I enjoyed the time I spent with them which is an important factor for me when it comes to books and films. I am primarily a sci-fi and fantasy reader, though I do also love Jane Austen and other things historical. It was the Victorian setting of this story, in the hands of an author/histor ...more

Sometimes, when I love a book, I just don't have a lot to say about it. However, when I have mixed feelings about a book or dislike a book, then I seem to have more to say. I have mixed feelings about this book. Let me count the ways . . . .

First, I usually don't like stories of ghosts who haunt houses or otherwise. This story made me not care about that little prejudice of mine.

Second, I usually heartily dislike corporeal people loving non-corporeal people, and visa versa. Up to the very, very

E.B. Wheeler is a new author for me. I took a chance on “The Haunting of Springett Hall” because the picture on the front was so cool.

My opinions are conflicted because there are things I liked, and many things that just baffled me. I admit to being a major part of the problem as I am not a big dark ghostly phenomenon story fan. It did get my attention with Lucy the ghost and how she appeared and disappeared, and the fun interaction with Philip. He was the guy that could see and talk to her ghos

I enjoyed this book. Even more than I expected to. I am kind of a pansy when it comes to ghosts; they're just not my thing. I tend to avoid ghost stories. This was more of a mystery/romance that just happened to involve a ghost, though. I thought it was engaging from the very beginning, which was nice. I was in the mood for a book that I didn't have to try to get into. I would probably give it 3.5 stars, if I could, it wasn't a book I will read again and again, although, I'm sure I will read it ...more

I loved this book! It was not at all what I expected and I was really distressed that I didn't have the time to devour it like I normally might have. Every time I had to put it down I groaned and inwardly complained about the other things I had to do instead.

Normally books about black magic and summonings and things make me super uncomfortable, and I generally steer clear of them. I can't figure out how exactly this book didn't make me uncomfortable. Maybe it was just the mystery of everything,

I don't usually go in for paranormal anything, but this caught my interest. It is a delicious ghost story with a twist. It's so much more than the typical haunting. It is told from Lucy's point of view and we learn what happened as she learns. It has mystery, suspense, romance, and a dab of the occult, which is dealt with a very light hand. That's the part I'm usually uncomfortable with,

and I did squirm a little.

It is a well written tale--we find out the whys and wherefores of all the seemingly

I liked it. Pretty good. I love the two main characters. They're both sweet and strong. But I wish there was more of what happened to the rest of the characters. Especially Lucy and Philip. I wonder how it will all work out for them? It'd be nice for a sequel but I dont think this book will have one, it seemed to wrap up in a n open ended conclusion.

While the novel was entertaining, the character devolvement was lacking and the ending unsatisfying. The last few chapters seemed very rushed compared to the well-paced beginning. While I found the excuse for Lucy and Phillip's sudden relationship rather cheap, the connection between the two characters was apparent.

Loved it! The mystery unfolds every chapter of the way and so does the romance! The writing makes the story seem simple, but a darkness hide in those pages and it's so fun to see the ending. Fantastic!!

I don't usually read paranormal books but The Haunting of Springett Hall really grabbed me from page 1. I couldn't put it down, and the twists and turns of Lucy and Phillip's tale surprised me several times.
