*SPOILER-ISH SECTION*
I loved this book! I'm kind-of torn between giving this book a 3 stars or giving this book a 5 stars. On one hand I wasn't the biggest fan of the writing style but on the other I really loved the stories and all of the life lessons this book had. So I am going to give it a 3 stars (Sorry Jenn)
This book had SO many, I cant even stress about how many valuable life lessons this had. I was also able to relate to this book immensely, like Jenn is me.
I love how she explained that once you leave High School/Junior High the only thing that matters is your grades nobody cares about how popular you were or what sports you played they just care about the way you are now (or in my case how I am in the future).
I highly recommend this book even though I only gave it a 3 stars I still really enjoyed it!

Basically this was just her account of her lift from middle school to now as a YouTube sensation.

There really was absolutely nothing entertaining about this. The audio book was only 5 hours long, I easily finished this in a day. But I found myself zoning out and not really paying much attention. There was nothing relevant or of interest to me in this story. Perhaps it's my age, or the fact that I am not really involved into the whole YouTube video stuff (I'm just a watcher of music videos, and these other 'skits' or 'short movies' were never of interest to me).

It almost reminded me of those books written by comedians or actors/actresses that discuss their eating habits and how they came to be what they are. The content is just a stream of consciousness.

I have followed Jenn as a Youtuber for a while now, to which is why I finally picked this one up. I did the audiobook and absolutely loved that it was narrated by her. I almost wish she would have waited to write this book now that she is older, because it was overall pretty juvenile, and that shows in her writing. It was an easy read and interesting to see how not only she, but how overall Youtubers get started, built from the ground up. I enjoyed learning about how she got started and her early days, but most of the book is Youtube based. This aspect of the book I did not really care for, but it was interesting to say the least. I almost wish she would have gone more into her personal life and set the book up as a traditional memoir.

I really enjoyed listening to this!

it definitely wasn't my favorite thing in the world, I just really found it hard to connect with, this story was told in mostly lists like, "how to survive middle school", I'm now almost done with high school so I think this would be a good book for teenagers ages 12-14

I couldn't decide between one and two stars. I'm rating this 1.5 stars as a compromise.
Jenn's a fun YouTuber and all, but I really did not enjoy this book.
It didn't entertain me how I thought it was going to, just based off her videos, tweets, other social media, etc.
There was just nothing about this book. Nothing interesting. Nothing entertaining. Nothing fun. Just nothing. There wasn't anything about this book that stuck out with me or that spoke to me. It was mostly just words on a page.
Nothing was really funny either, another thing that I expected as I've been following Jenn for a while.
This book was pretty short, I was able to finish it within a few hours, but even within that time, I was thinking about quitting the book several times due to pure boredom with it.
In all honesty, I only got this book because I liked Jenn, not being it looked interesting or anything. I had heard some bad reviews on it, but yet, I still got it because it was by Jenn.
And I kind of regret it. Okay, not kind of, I really regret it. It was a waste of time, to be honest.
I love Jenn, don't get me wrong, but this is just not her forte. I want a book to be entertaining, to suck me in, to tell me things that will stick with me, to have things pop out at me, and frankly, this book did not do that at all to any extent.
I usually enjoy YouTuber books. Not in this case.
I will continue to follow Jenn and I have ever since I read this book, though.

This book is one of those books where you have to watch Jenn on YouTube or have a lot of background about her to like it. It talks about how she was able to over come all the bullies and all the hate that she got growing up and not being accepted by the people that she thought loved her. Jenn talks about how she slowly learned that being a YouTuber and making movies with her friends was her destiny something she really enjoys doing. This book after reading it makes you feel like a whole new person because everything in the book is relatable to every person even if it is in different ways it talks about bullying, not fitting in, growing up, how its difficult to move out and live on ur own resulting in how its very hard to make decisions and it also gives you little top ten or give or take a few about how to become a better person little by little. I was able to relate to this book a lot because she talks about how to deal with little things that teenagers now are struggling through. I'm rating this book a five because I feel like its a book that ounce you start reading it you wanna know what's gonna happen next in her life since the things she talks about in her book she's never even put on the internet also because the wording she chose is strong and helps her get her point across very simply.

"Really Professional Internet Person" is a biography about Jenn McAllister. She's most known as "Jennxpenn" on YouTube. She started making Youtube videos since she found her parents video camera in the chest under a piano, ever since then, she has been obsessed with creating YouTube videos. In this book you will follow her through her journey of life including friendships, adventures and so on. In her biography, she gives advice that is helpful.
One of my favorite parts of this book is when Mr.Hentz asked Jenn "What do you want to do in life?" and in the beginning she told her teacher that she wanted to go to school to become a psychologists because of how she always reading articles about it and read that psychologists make a good living that's when her teacher told her "Do what you love and the money will follow". This quote made me realized that you should spend on doing what you truly passionate about and money will be worth it later because life is too short to do something that you are not passionate about.
I recommend this book for those who aspire to become a YouTuber or struggle with friendships, or just simply need advice. Her biography explains her life journey the good times and the hardships of her life and how she became a YouTuber. Overall this book has influenced me and made me realized things that I never realized.

Really Professional Internet Person is a book describing how Jenn McAllister got internet famous. Jenn shows how she created her first youtube post and what she was like in High School. Jenn also describes how what her everyday life is. Another major thing that Jenn shows if how she moves from her hometown to L.A. Jenn also adds how she meets all her other internet famous such as Andrew Lowe. This book really shows what YouTubers day really consists of. Jenn also puts in where her love for making videos came from.

I thought this story had very strong messages. It engaged me for the entirety I read it. I think Jenn could have written with more properly constructed sentences and avoided "literally" just as much as I need to stop saying "um." I had never heard of jennxpenn before, but upon reading this story, I might watch some of her videos. She seems to be quite an inspirational person. I felt really bad for her when she went into detail about the bullying she experienced at school (from peers as well as her backstabbing "friends", and the mean comments she gets on her YouTube videos to this day. I was amused when she described her first kiss. I appreciate that she puts her work and fans before boys. From starting this review I have had the chance to watch some of her videos. I can't say she's as good as iisuperwomanii but from what I can tell, she is a talented hard worker. I got a lot of good advice from this story, so shoutout to Jenn McAllister for sharing her story with the world. With exception to some weak moments, I believe this is a very good story.

so i know you’re seeing five stars on a youtuber book and that’s definitely due to the enjoyment that i got out of this book. was it a literary masterpiece? no, obviously not this is a youtuber book lmao. but jenn’s videos have brought be a lot of comfort in the past six months since i spent most of my free time alone due to physical distance between my friends and i. i’m the same age as her when she wrote this book. it’s insane to think about how different our lives are. i know it’s crazy that i’ll read a literary classic and write "was good!" but then i’ll type a paragraph for this book but did f scott fitzgerald do the black widow challenge in the sims 4 and play phasmophobia with ricky dillion and jacob whitesides?? NO he didn’t.

Well - I love Jenn. I've loved her since I was 10 and watched all her music videos until I was inspired to start my own. This is my first audiobook and my first autobiography of a YouTuber. I liked learning all the funny things I didn't know about Jenn and I liked hearing her backstory. It was definitely for super fans or even a younger audience, but that's okay. I will always love her videos and continue to watch them today, this just wasn't my thing.

Anecdotes in the life of a millennial vlogger. This book gives some good insights into the thought process of a young lady who lives her life in front of a camera. She has great humor and bubbling energy.

I got this at a little free library. I love Youtube & thought it would be a good find, but I was sadly disappointed.
I don't blame McAllister for the awful writing in this book. She is, after all, only 19. I blame the book industry that started giving obvious not-writers book deals, and I blame whomever thought McAllister would be a good addition to this.
Do not go into this book expecting high-quality literature. You will not find it. McAllister is not a writer; her primary medium is through video. I lost count of how many literally's and basically's there was in this book, but in her words, "This book is basically a waste of time, literally."
Her writing came across as childish.
If you are a fan of McAllister, you will probably enjoy this book. I personally never heard of her, but she sounds interesting & funny ON VIDEO. She includes lots of personal stories that I found very relatable. Hand-written notes were included, which adds a personal touch. I found her to be a typical teen, which was charming. However, typical teens DO NOT deserve book deals, unless they write well.
Her stories of being bullied were very similar to my own, and I found them redeeming that she included them in her story. There were times at the end where it felt like she was bragging, especially when she wrote about making a movie and being mobbed at awards shows. However, I am not a hater. She seems to be a sweet girl, I just don't think she should have written a book.

Um... How am i supposed to write a nice review of this book when i can't seem to find anything nice to say about it?

First of all, i think this book is just a waste of time. I didn't know jennxpenn and did not even know this was a memoir when i picked it up. A memoir about a youtuber who i was not familiar with (yes apparently she's a big deal and she's only mentioned this 50000 times).

I watched a few of her videos but they did not really catch my attention, i was not invested in her story but i kept going because i thought maybe something interesting will happen, maybe i will get interested in her.

What i didn't like also is that she kept repeating the word fans 8000000 times. My fans came and went. Because of my fans i was escorted out of the hotel by a security guard. I couldn't enter vidcon without my fans causing a commotion. One fan saved my life. And so on and so on....
What irritated me even more is that she constantly stated that how many subscribers or"fans" you had determined how good of a youtuber you are. Like one time she literally said don't ask someone who has way more subscribers than you are for a collab because you'll be asking for way too much. Like wtf?

Ok first of all, this was a book worth my time reading. Many a time I will read books that I will soon regret reading because it was a waste of time. Luckily, this was not one of those books.

Second, although it was a good book, it was nothing new for me to read. It followed the same plot line of a teenager that was shy and bullied but then turned to Youtube and life was instantly better. I had already read several stories that had literally the same plot line from Youtubers like Bethany Mota or Rachel Levin to name a few. It was nothing different which was upsetting because I was really hoping for something different.

Now before I get a bunch of hate, I am not belittling or pushing down peoples experiences, I am simply explaining that I had already read about things like that. I wished at times the author wouldn't focus so much on the bad things and spend more time on the good things and experiences she had that many people will never get to have.

Now I know all of you are thinking, "Well if you didn't like the book Austin, why did you give it four stars?"

I gave the book four stars because even though her story and path to Youtube was similar to others, I appreciated the creativity she put in her book and how her humor and personality shone through the pages.

Overall, I enjoyed the book but not enough to re-read it or obsess crazily over it. It was not a bad book, and it was not a great book, but it was a good book.

Thank you for reading my review and please remember all opinions are my own and I would not express them to intentionally upset or hurt someone.

Thanks again and I'll talk to you later in my next review! Love you guys and remember to be brave and have fun!

I listened to the audio book version of Really Professional Internet Person. I love that it was narrated by the author, as this allows the reader to hear the story the way she wanted it to be told. Jenn McAllister is one of my favorite YouTuber/streamers, so I enjoyed learning about her journey getting to where she is now (or I guess 2015, when this book was published). I also liked the addition of the top 10 lists at the end of every chapter, which payed homage to one of McAllister’s first big YouTube successes, the series Jennxpenn’s top 10’s.

I’m not a huge nonfiction fan but overall, I had a really easy, enjoyable listening experience with Really Professional Internet Person.

I listened to this book as an audiobook.

I love that Jenn McCallister is the one who reads her book. Listening to this book was like listening to Jenn sit down and tell me a story.

This book is super honest and I really enjoyed hearing some of her stories, even the bad ones because Jenn talks about how they helped her grow into who she is today.

I love the advice and the life lessons that are scattered throughout the book, and I love that each chapter ends with a list of ten things that are relevant to the previous chapter.

If you are an aspiring Youtuber, this book is a must read!

This book is honestly one of my favorite books not just because she is one of my favorite youtubers but because i related to this book so much on how she was a really shy and anxious teenager and we both have similar “dreams” to be in the TV industry. I also loved how the book tells life lessons and i also really enjoyed the writing style of book because i think it is really unique and different from other kinds of writing styles. I also like this book because it is just a really inspiring book.

“You go through life trying on a bunch of identities, seeing what fits and what just kind of feels wrong.”

Jenn McAllister hits the nail on the head at several points in her memoir Really Professional Internet Person. Despite having a large social media following, the young YouTuber and social media influencer, known widely as 'jennxpenn' manages to make a connection with her audience through her humble and honest approach to life. It rings clear in her writing.

I remember watching Jenn when she was still living with Andrea Russett, Arden Rose, and Lauren Elizabeth. It doesn’t even seem that long ago to me. Though I don’t watch her that much anymore, I still love seeing her grow, and this book was an amazing throwback. There’s some genuinely good advice in this book; I’ll definitely be sure to use it as a reference in the future. :)

A light reflection on her life on YouTube, with some introspection on the difficulties of instafame. Fans will love this, and it is very positive. It's packed with name dropping and in jokes about YouTube events. While her Top 10 lists and advice columns are good for younger readers, I don't think there's much appeal to people who aren’t already fans or in the know.

This book made me feel really old. I was born in 1988 and there seems to be quite the generation gap with the You Tube generation. Most of her proud life moment seem so Shallow and living just for fake internet points (southpark classic episode). This will scare you if you ever watch the Black Mirror series season 1 episode 2.
