Bought this book in the very nicely done museum at Washington on the Brazos in Texas. I was there on a rest day from our cross country bicycle ride. As a descendant of John Maverick, an immigrant to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, my attention was caught by her name. Her journal and memoirs were fascinating-- especially since I found Texas to be mostly unappealing.
