This was a really short ebook and I breezed through it very quickly. I admit that I did want to get a look into Cal's mind, mostly during the events of Beyond Reach. I kind of liked Cal in the series, though I'm more on Team Zane. This book only pushed me more on Team Zane. Cal is a bit stalkerish and really obsessed with Ari. Keep in mind that this book takes place before The Calling. Though I thought he was a wee bit obsessed, I did like getting this look into Cal's mind and seeing how he felt

I found it extremely difficult to decide upon a rating for Lovestruck. Anyone who follows my reviews will know I’m a big fan of Siobhan Davis, and it pains me to give this story a low rating. At first a part of me was willing to give a two-star rating instead of the one-star rating I gave, but in the end I couldn’t quite do so.

I wish it had been longer. That's my only criticism, I wish we'd gotten a little bit more into the beginning of True Calling and Cal's side of things as that was going on. That being said, I did enjoy getting to see how he was feeling prior to what we've read in True Calling. It was very insightful and makes me trust Cal a bit more, because to be honest, I was rather back and forth with him throughout the entirety of book one. I'm very excited to move on to book two now.

Ooh this one got me good. I was starting to doubt Cal his loyalties after finishing True Calling. But then I read this, and now I don't know what to think. Whose side is he on?!? I can't wait to read the next book and find out!

When it comes to romance and wanting a certain someone so badly, it hurts, there is nothing like hearing the guy’s POV to just melt your heart, put a lump in your throat and let out a huge sigh, just before you melt into a squishy pile of goo.

Lovestruck is a short novalle in the pov of Cal Remus before the events that happen in True Calling. I tell you I know that some readers probably don't like Cal when they first read about him in True Calling. But I absolutely loved him from the very beginning and now after reading Lovestruck I have fallen more in Iove with Cal. I will even dare say I love him more than Zane. Cal—yeah, he doesn’t need much of an introduction. After finishing the trilogy, I was obsessed with Cal. Since I know how his and Ariana’s love story ends, it actually made this story better. Reading it between books one and two or two and three would make it more stressful—but maybe in a good way, right?
Fly away with Cal for a few moments and see Ariana through his eyes before he held her heart. To read the rest of the review, simply follow the link: http://www.aleisuremoment.com/2015/11...

I like alpha males, but Cal was kind of assholey in this. Thankfully, Ben set him straight.

In a future where the Earth has been ravaged, people are now living on a station in space. Cal Remus is tired of girls just wanting him for his good looks. He’s now fixated on Ariana. She’s smart and caring, and looks right through him as if he didn’t exist and gives him a brush off whenever he attempts to talk to her. He follows her throughout the day, studying her interactions with other people, trying to figure out the best point to try to engage her.

This short story is beyond sweet and adorable. I fell for Cal harder than ever. I was even skeptic of Cal in the beginning when he says that he has been in love with Ariana, but boy, this boy is not in love but heads over heels.
Cal is securing more and more book boyfriend points. He is just so sweet and cares for Ariana. I really want my own Cal. I also love that he is strong and we get to see some of his internal struggles. However, my ...more

Some novellas I really enjoy, but for the most part, I'm not a fan of them. I generally feel that they shouldn't cost anything given the short nature of them. Occasionally though, there are the rare ones that do add more depth to the story. That's how I felt after reading Light of a Thousand Stars , True Calling #2.5. I felt like the backstory love affair between Ari and Zane was a crucial part to understanding the pain Zane feels towards Ari's indifferenc ...more

This is a good novella for fans of the True Calling series. It is Cal's perspective and gives more background into his friendship with Ben, his family dynamics and shows how completely head over heels in love Cal is with Arianna.
I loved getting to see Cal's friendship with Ben. It makes me like Ben's character even more. It was very illuminating to see more of Cal's family dynamic. You understand more deeply how close he is with his sister Melandra (Mel) and why. You also see the true depths of ...more

Initial Reaction:

Ummm...yeah so Lovestruck by Siobhan Davis is a quick, short story (like only 30-40 pages) told from Cal's point of view and set just before the Calling in book one.
*Note: If you have not read book one True Calling, read this review at your own risk as there will be minor spoilers.

Lovestruck is a short and sweet novella told from Cal’s POV - a novella which takes us right where his obsession with Ariana has begun, before they're being matched for 'The Calling'. We all know by now that his dad works in the military, but what we didn’t know thus far was that he used to snoop into his dad’s files and discover things that outraged him big time.

This was such a fun little read. It is very short, but it is a novella after all. You get to see a glimpse of Cal before it all. You know he picks on her a bit before the real feelings come out, but it was nice to see how he really feels. In the other books I have read in this series, I wasn't sure what his motivations really were towards Ariana, now I have no doubt.

What does a guy feel when the person he loves doesn’t love him back? He will definitely feel bad. But what would he feel when the person he loves doesn’t love him back AND sees him as a despicable person? Probably, worse.

Love Struck is a short story from the True Calling Series. It introduces us to Cal who we have not had much of an insight too before.
The story is set before the Calling takes place and we see one of Cal and Ari's first proper meetings.
It is amusing to see how Cal feels towards Ariana from the beginning because it comes across differently from Ariana's prospective. Cal is not just in love with her but he is obsessed with Ari because she is the only girl that seems to resist his charms.

I got this "novella" (if it's even long enough to count as one) when I bought the series as a kindle book set after reading book one as a kindle free download. Reading this came very close to putting me off reading any of the other books.
I thought this was going to be a short little look into Cal's perspective leading up to book 1, and that was true. *Slightly spoiler-y part* What I didn't expect was for Davis to write Cal as a stalker who thinks he's god's gift to women. Cal might be a teenage ...more

Short and sweet.
One of the things I like about the series is how well scenes are depicted from completely different perspectives. This short story is basically a bonus chapter told from Cal's perspective and set just about the time Ariana begins to notice him (in True Calling). Another thing I like is how natural and believable the banter is between the characters, particularly Cal and Ben. Just as in the series, characterization is strong in this installment. As a lover of this series I have been waiting for the next books to come out and I was so happy when the author Siobhan was kind enough to sen me free copy of her book to read and review.
I liked this book. I loved the fact that we finally got to read from calls perspective and to see his thoughts and feelings. I read this after True Calling and before Beyond Reach. Before reading this, I had doubts about Cal's true intentions towards Ariana, now I know his feelings for her are real.

A GREAT READ TO START A NEW SERIES
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
This is a short story 3 months before True Calling. Cal Remus a teenage boy (about 17) who realizes he cares very much for a girl who seems to hold him as something distasteful and a young girl Ariana Skyee (near same age) can't figure out why Cal suddenly is always around where she goes. They both now live on a man made world Planet Novo where everyone has a Vita chip and monitored at all times and this is their new ...more

Anyone looking for a bit more from the True Calling world between novels? This is a short little tale from Cal's perspective before the events of the first novel in the series, True Calling. So, yeah...apparently Cal was a bit more stalker-ish than we knew. This story follows Cal's apparent obsession with Ari before they became involved in the first book. It certainly put Cal in a whole new light for me and gave some perspective on his motives (which come under question) before reading the secon

I loved this addition to the series! Reading from Cal's perspective was excellent, and it definitely endeared him to me all the more. Reading this made me want to go back and read the first book, so I could re-read how Ariana and Cal became a couple, they are so sweet together. I'm really looking forward to the next book, and any books after that! I do wish this was longer though, I would love to read Cal's perspective when Ariana finally starts letting him in. I am so glad I read this after True Calling. This gave me a better insight into who Cal really was and what his intentions were towards Ari. It made me connect with him in a way that I just couldn't allow myself to in book 1. Cal's point of view was so fun to read and surprising at times ! If you enjoyed True Calling and just need to get more- then I'd definitely recommend reading this before moving onto Beyond Reach!

I really enjoyed it, even thou it was so short. It made me start to like Cal a lot more, so now am really torn on who Ari should pick. Right now am 60/40 in favor of Ari getting together with Zane. Who knows how I will feel after reading Destiny Rising, which am reading right now. I love getting Cal point of view before he gets involved with Ari. Thanks so much Siobhan for giving me this book to review, for just my honest opinions on your books.

You know whats great.... short stories from one of your favorite book series that gives you insight into a character you haven't had before. Honestly I was not that into Cal while reading the book series and didn't get where he was coming from. Then I read this enjoyable testosterone filled short from his perspective and now I think I'm Team Cal! Thank you Siobhan for making this love triangle even more high intensity for me and for giving us more from this world that I am captivated by.
