The Frieda B. series was awarded Gold for Best Picture Book Series by the National Moonbeam Children's Book Awards!

Purchase at www.FriedaB.com and Amazon. When a traveling salesman comes to town selling Finkledee Ink, Frieda B. scrapes together every last penny to purchase a jar for herself. Her hope and belief is that this one jar of ink magically will make her a great writer (a deep longing she holds in her heart). But can a jar of ink truly hold the key to her dream? And if so, what happens to that dream when the jar of ink shatters? (Gasp!) Does her dream shatter, too?

Frieda B. and the Finkledee Ink is a story to help children of all ages heartily believe that when it comes to our dreams and our natural gifts, there's nothing we need to buy or get. Nope. Everything is inside of us already. What we do need is dedication, perseverance, and the belief and support of others. And - more importantly - the belief in our very own selves.

What would the world look like if all children dreamed big and believed in their stories? It’s that single question that defines/drives the work of children’s author and speaker Renata Bowers, and the company she’s co-founded, Frieda B., LLC.

Author of Frieda B. Herself, Frieda B. Meets the Man in the Moon, Frieda B. and the Zillabeast, Frieda B. and the Finkledee Ink, and Frieda B. A Great Day at the Dog Park, Renata created fictional children’s character Frieda B. to encourage children to dream big and believe they, too, are free to be their own one-of-a-kind, very important story. She’ll tell you she loves little more than sharing the message of Frieda and seeing a child (or adult) light up at the internalization that she/he has an inherent worth.

“We each have this incredibly valuable story, like a lightbulb, inside us,” Renata says. “And so many of us either don’t know it’s there at all, or believe we’re not good enough or it’s too late to light it. That’s nonsense. And so, there’s Frieda. To nudge us to believe, to dream, to flip the switch.”

Building on her own dream, Renata co-founded Frieda B., LLC with dear friend Paula LaJoie to provide a growing line of books, products and services specifically created to encourage and inspire the story within.

Renata also is the author of and Good Dogs, Great Listeners: The Story of Charlotte, Lily and The Litter, which she wrote in conjunction with JoAnn and Joel Bacon of Newtown, CT, about their 6-year-old daughter, Charlotte.

Renata lives in Northern Connecticut with her husband, Dave, and their sons, Hunter and Garreth.

I love, love, love Frieda B.
I first discovered these through the American Heritage girls program which works with Renata Bowers (the author.) I particularly love this one because it shows us how much a little bit of true compliment can go to encourage someone to follow their talents. Shining a little bit of light on someone's dreams can help them realize that they can become a reality. It is really important as a leader and a good person to take the time to recognize others talents. And to recognize your own talents as well so that you can learn you are free to pursue your dreams.

Happy reading and you are Free to Be!

Took only a few minutes to read this special book. Didn't we all have dreams when we were small? Of course, and with patience and perseverance, our dreams may just come to fruition. A really good book for those youngsters who may need a little boost. My younger nieces and nephews will love this one. I won this book on GOODREADS first reads giveaway. Thanks to all the people at GOODREADS and all the wonderful authors who enter their books in the giveaway.
