What’s this – a chicklit cover without a chick? Or a pair of high heels? Or a beautiful landscape? Yes, we went a completely different direction on this one with our paparazzi snapping pictures over the fence which is funny because Million Dollar Question is possibly one of our most romantic novels to date. But we just loved the whole look that Design For Writers came up with. Think those clouds are fluffy enough that it won’t be mistaken for a thriller and the book definitely has its gritty urb ...more

This could be a tough review to write, only because I have to watch what I say not to give away too much. I wouldn’t want to ruin the book for anyone. This is definitely a book that you want to pick up and not have any spoilers.

Million Dollar Question is the story of two worlds. The world of having money and the world of not having money. Olivia came from a world of money and then lost it all. Rosie came from the world of not having money and then received a huge winning. It was interesting to

Million Dollar Question is a book that most chick lit lovers will enjoy. It has a good plot, an array of characters that vary from quirky Scots to stuck-up-your-own-arse mothers. It's a pretty long read with a medium flow narrative. Told separately by strangers Rosie and Liv who are both completely different personalities and each have their own issues and conundrums.

Myself personally I have to admit that I didn't like the flitting back and forth between Rosie and Liv. I felt like just as I was

A Million Dollar Question is two different Womens stories in one book. First we have Olivia she worked hard to get to the top where she is comfortable with money and power she can have pretty much anything she wants. Than we have Rosie a single Mom with twin boys she works hard but it seems there is never enough money for her small family they just barely scrap by. Than a knock at Rosie's door changes everything and a word ofa scandal reaches Olivia'sears , and their worlds are completely turned ...more

I love all the books by this dynamic duo, but I just adored MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!!! This book is hilarious, but also thought provoking, serious and also light at times...such a wonderful blend of the many emotions we all feel. I loved that two very different characters were brought together, because in life that happens all the time. Meet Rosie and Olivia; two women who lead completely different lives but somehow end up in similar situations, having more in common than they ever expected. New Yorker Olivia Wheeler has given it her all, working all hours, to get to the top. She leads a comfortable life, making lots of money and being used to luxury surrounding her wherever she goes. But what happens when a big financial scandal takes all of this away from

Ellie Campbell is or should I say are the authors who always manage to surprise me with their books. Their books are never simple stories falling in one mold or genre. Their stories are unexpected stories full of surprises and twists that leave you guessing right till the end.

Million Dollar Question is another awesome read from the authors which had me so hooked and completely unable to make out the future events in the book. Every twist and turn came as a

This is a compelling tale of two very different women who face a number of life altering decisions. Rosie Dixon is in her early thirties, a single mum who is facing redundancy. Her life completely changes when she wins a million pounds. One minute financially strapped, and then a millionaire. She is shocked at the greed, ingratitude and viciousness of people and accidentally stumbles upon a secret that will change the course of her life permanently.

Written by sisters Pam Burks and Lorraine Campbell writing under the pseudonym ‘Ellie Campbell’, Million Dollar Que$tion is that rare breed of novel classed as ‘chick-lit’ but which often avoids the overused cliches of this genre. It’s an enjoyable, well written story which which includes elements of romance throughout but this isn’t overplayed or made too cheesy. Those tropes are there, but they’re done in a charming way!

This book is certainly a million dollar laugh--Ellie Campbell always has a magical way of producing a book that elicits hours of laughter and glee in her books from her readers and this one is no different!

I will have to watch how I word this review as to not give any spoilers--but this has got to be the sweetest book I’ve read yet by Ellie Campbell!

The author, Ellie Campbell, gave me a copy of this work in exchange for my review.

Ellie Campbell brings woman a strong sense of empowerment in one woman who feels as though she’s lost it all and another who really had little left to lose.

Readers meet Rosie at her lowest. Her husband has left her and she’s on her own with twins. She had a comfortable life with Charlie but now that he’s gone, she’s living on a Council Estate while he lives the high life paying child support only when the whim str

Rosie is a single mother of two. She does her best to provide for the boys. It would be so much easier if her ex would just send his child support on time. Still, Rosie is happier being single.
Oliva is living the good life. Money, prestige and power guide her movements. She's convinced her life can only improve with each day.
These women are both hoping for a change. Neither could imagine the changes life has in store for them. Worlds apart but still they manage to have their paths entwined.

Whether you win or lose a lot of money your fate could be the same--people will either try to use you or lose you. No matter what you do--you never seem to get it right. Add to that no self confidence and you have our newest millionaire-recently divorced Rosie Dixon. Olivia Wheeler, our other side of the coin, lost all her money (a considerable amount) due to an unscrupulous employer. She was an up and coming Hedge Fund Manager until her boss caused umpteen people-including herself to literally ...more

I loved this book! This is my favorite Ellie Campbell book so far. I’ve loved all of their books that I’ve read, but this is the top on my list.

Olivia and Rosie are such great characters! They rise above all the stuff life has dealt them. They’re such strong characters, and I adore them! Actually, all of the characters in this story are great. They are well-developed and very real. The way the story comes together and the characters intertwine is just so good! This is a very enjoyable book with realistic characters. Olivia is a hard hitting go getter who is very successful. She loses everything and has to start from the bottom. Rosie is a hard working single mum who is struggling to make ends meet. She unexpectedly wins a fortune and not only has to deal with being a winner but with the changes this stroke of luck brings which can be good and can be bad. The story is how the women deal with their personal change of fortunes. There are many dramatic tw ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is about two women who seemingly have nothing in common. Olivia, a successful business woman, loses everything while Rosie, a struggling single mother wins a million pounds. The story is about both of their struggles and as I read I just kept wondering how and where their lives were going to intersect. There were tantalizing bits here and there, but no, not yet. Kept me glued to the book. I enjoyed both of their stories. Both had ups and downs and even found a ...more

Borrowed this free on Prime and didn't finish it, I skimmed the last 45% because once I saw the 'big reveal' coming a mile off I just stopped caring at all.
I thought it would be a good holiday read, it wasn't ... it was a combination of completely unbelievable and tiringly predictable.

Which should be fine, I mean a book about winning a million dollars doesn't suggest veracity or accuracy but I should at least have been able to believe in the characters.

There was nothing offensively bad - just a

Funny, exciting, even an occasional tug at the heartstrings. The prose is clean and the flow is great. My only complaint is there were so many characters it got hard to keep them all straight.

Million Dollar Question by Ellie Campbell brings us on the journey of Rosie and Olivia, two very different people from very different backgrounds, yet somehow their lives continue to cross paths during a very crucial time. Olivia has just fallen prey to a very large financial scheme and lost everything she owned. On the other hand, Rosie, a single mom, has just won a million pounds. As they both learn to live within their new realities, they

This is a good premise executed poorly. The story of two women, one going from rags to riches and the other from riches to rags, each learning that the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

It would have made for a five star rating on that alone, had it not been for the horrible writing style, the flip-flop story-telling, the jagged pacing and the fact that here you have two different writers trying to pull off a sham that they are one and the same person. You are two separ

Overall I did enjoy this rags to riches and riches to rags story. I did find that the writing was a little different between the two main characters as they were obviously written seperately by the two co-authors. This was more prominent at the start and then seemed to smooth out, or maybe I got used to it. Sometimes the story seemed to take ages to get anywhere and other times it was sped up so much that the action all happened and I, as the reader, only got the aftermath. This was a bit discon ...more

To Have Or Have Not – Wealth, Love, Family, Friends, Career – All In This Novel!
This is a very good novel! It is quite a page-turner and has something for just about everyone. This is a clean novel that explores the having, losing and regaining of wealth, love, family, friends and career. The plot is complicated and wonderful. It is written in British English which makes it a slower read for me, but very enjoyable. I have read several of this author’s works and love them all! (Ok, actually it is

I'm sorry. I can't get into this one and I quit about halfway through. The concept was interesting and I thought it was a great topic to explore: how money changes people. I don't like the characters, to be honest. Olivia is a spoiled brat (although she does humble herself after a while) and Rosie is a doormat. The plot is slow and the whole thing is depressing. And, they're both surrounded by horrible people. I'm sure that they change by the end of the book, but I don't have the patience or int ...more

Absolutely Wonderful!

What a wonderful story. From rags to riches, and from riches to rags. Back and forth. This is the story of one woman, struggling to make ends meet, coming into a large windfall; and of another woman, living the high-life, then losing it all. The story tells of the problems they both face, as they are on opposite sides of spectrum. They do have something in common though. Brilliantly written. Loved it.

while reading this book I got the feeling that things weren't adding up with one of the characters. When I came to the end to find 2 sisters had collaborated it makes sense now. The character Oliveria seemed to be more difficult to read than Rosies story.
