4.5 stars!
This was the first book I read from Nadege and I couldn't put it book down from the very first page. It began with a bombshell and I was already in tears not even 20 pages in. Have you ever had a cliffhanger in the BEGINNING of a book? Because this one did that to me and it was emotional. Everything got completely out of hand as the evens unraveled and all I could do was sit and watch

First off I would like to thank the very talented and wonderful author Nadege Richards for an ARC of this book... You really made my day!!!

This has to undoubtedly be one of the best books I have read this year....The story of Echo and Ayden is beautifully told and every sentence leaves you hanging on for the next one.

You cannot help but fall in love with these two main characters as they take you along, on their journey of discovering true love and that it is worth fighting for.

I have just disco

*I received a free PDF version of this novel from the author for my honest review.*

This is a dystopian novel of a world where there is a New Haven and an Old Haven.

Echo is from the New Haven world. She is the Princess of Thediby, the one that will combine two families together with her marriage to Prince Noah, Prince of Delentia.

Ayden is from Old Haven, a world that has been picked apart and left in ruins. Work is hard to come by, money is something everyone wishes they have, and just making it

I enjoyed this story a lot. Though predictable in a few places, it was well thought out and well written. You can really relate to some of the characters and their situations. The world Nadege has created is interesting. I loved the journey the 2 main characters embark on in the story.
I liked how the book started out at present day, and then went back a few weeks, so you can find out about the events leading up to the present day situation.
Its a great debut novel and I'm looking forward to the

I got a copy of this book to review, and I was pleasantly surprised. I had read the first couple of chapters online for free via the author's website and it had tickled my interest. So I decided to see I could get a review copy as I start to jump into the world of reviewing books!

The first thing I should say is this book is more of a love story than an action one. Yeah, there's action, but most of the tale is about the romance and background of the characters. I liked this, a lot, especially be

So I received a copy of this book from the Author, Nadège Richards, in exchange for an honest review and this is what you'll get.

So where to begin?

I initially marked this book as to be read simply because of the stunning cover.. I promise i don't usually judge books by the cover but this one screamed at me to be read. So when i was given the chance to read it I jumped. Literally.

From the very first line this book had my attention "I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, I was going to die tonight"

If you are in the mood for forbidden love, family betryal, and a stubborn teenager than this is your book. After reading the first chapter and it ending the way it did with you not knowing what was in stored for Echo and her true love was epic. Then Chapter 2 unfolds both Echo's and Ayden's struggles with two different life styles. Echo is royalty and Ayden is from the other side of the tracks. Echo's parents have her life planned down to the day for her while Ayden is busy taking care of not on ...more

I was given this book to read in exchange for my honest review of it and let me say i'm glad that I got the chance to read this book. I didn't want to put it down. It had me on the edge of my seat and I was rooting aloud for Echo and Ayden and that caused my family to look at me with concern. It will leave you entranced and wanting more. Nadege is a wonderful author and I can't wait for the sequel to this story or any other story that she writes. She is brilliant. :)

I really liked this book! I kind of wish it didn't 'start with the ending', but I was happy to see the author saved a few twists for the ending too!

Recommended for those who enjoyed Red Queen, and the Selection series.

Burning Bridges
by Nadege Richards

Echo is stuck in a life she has never wanted. As Princess, she finds herself being betrothed to a man that would of course, not be her first pick. Not just that, but despite her wishes, her parents will force her to become Queen of the country.

Ayden has the opposite problems. He lives in a family that cannot provide for itself. With enormous debts owed to the King no matter how many jobs he works or how much money he earns or steals. It's never enough to put th

*Thank you so much Nadege Richard for this free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!*

I was super excited to get a free book, so I started reading it as soon as I received it. I could not put it down if I wanted to...I finished reading it at 2:30am. LOL

From the very first line, I was hooked and was being reeled in! The author has an amazing start to this book that would capture anyone. "I knew without a doubt, I was going to die tonight." See??

I received an advanced eARC copy of Burning Bridges and enjoyed reading it. Richards creates a nicely created mythic kingdom in which New Haven is divided into Warriors and Hunters. Enter Echo Abbeny, born a princess and betrothed in an arranged marriage to Noah. Echo has never been comfortable or happy being a princess and becomes further dismayed with her pending marriage to the conniving Noah.
Enter Ayden Grey. Hunter, noble, violet eyed, and awakened to passion by Echo.

I had high expectations for Burning Bridges. Unfortunately... my expectations weren't high enough. Burning Brides by Nadege Richards was everything I wanted it to be and more.
I have often seen it compared to The Hunger Games, Twilight, and even Romeo and Juliet because of the subjects reflected throughout the novel. I would call these assumptions accurate.
The plot is exciting, guaranteeing the reader never gets bored with the story.
I love so much about Burning Bridges.

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.

Let me say the cover looks amazing! Great job. Now on to the review. This book was a really great read, and I wanted to keep reading page after page to see what was going through Echo's mind and to find out what was going to happen between her and Ayden.

Now there was one part in here that had me confused and I had to ask the author about the timeline of the story. That being said I was told that everything will become clearer in the

I was given this book in return for an honest review. This book starts out almost at the end of the story and then pops back to let you know the back story then comes back again. It’s actually really good. You won’t quit reading because you want to find out how the characters ended up where they did, and what happens to them. Princess Echo is to marry Prince Noah, problem is, she hates him. She doesn’t want to get married, she doesn’t want to be queen, she wants to explore and learn the warrior ...more

I was lucky enough to be given this book in exchange for an honest review and I was not disappointed.

Nadège pulls you immediately into her dystopia’s world of New/Old Haven, two places on the brink of war. Nadège isn’t afraid to show the dirty, gritty side of war and poverty. And her book is better for it.

Ok, first I want to start by saying this is my own personal opinion and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Also it's pains me severely to write this because I dislike saying bad things and I will say this as professional as I can.
I was given this book for an HONEST review by the author, who is extremely nice and so sweet. That being said sadly I personally found this book lacking structure in character development and background. Now maybe it's just me, because I've seen tons of 5 star

This book was given to me for my honest review so here it is.

The moment I first started this book I knew I was going to love it. From the beginning all the way to the end I was hooked and never found a boring part. I'm not a fan of princesses and princes or books like that but this was something that caught my attention. While reading I could picture in my mind everything going on and I felt like I was there watching it all happen. I was going through the emotions Echo and Ayden went through.

I have been lucky enough to be able to read things that Nadege has written for a little while and I must say that she is a wonderful writer. All of the short stories that I read always caught me in the first sentence. I was lucky enough to read the first chapter of Burning Bridges some time ago and I loved it then. Reading the entire book now was a wonderful experience. I was captured from the first sentence and couldn't put it down, I had to find out what happened to Echo next. I am looking for ...more

Burning Bridges is about a young woman named Echo who is a princess and soon to be heir in a kingdom. She is being forced into something that she does not want, she wants to find happiness for herself. Until one day she meets Ayden and her whole world and who she is changes.

This young author has done a wonderful job creating a foreign, yet familiar world. Her writing is clear and she always seems to know the exact word for any given situation or emotion. The story is an emotional adventure. At one point, I was even brought to tears and that is a very rare feat! I am looking forward to book two. (I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because, I couldn't figure out how the technological advances fit in)

By far, Burning Bridges is the best book I've read in a long time! I wouldn't even classify it as a dystopian, it has a little bit of EVERYTHING. Richards' writing is very professional, and despite the few typos here and there (because it's normal and it does happen) this was an amazing debut novel.

I can't wait for book 2!

I really loved Ayden in this. Great male voice here. And Echo becomes a strong female hero in her own right. The only reason we (my daughter and I) took of a star was we couldn't quite agree on whether the story took place in the present day or in the past. Either way, both myself and my teenager loved the voices of the characters.
