Picture this, it’s your last night on the cruise ship. One would expect to drop it like it’s hot one more time or summon the courage to get up on stage and sing the karaoke song you choose days ago.

Of course, I didn't get the chance to partake in any of that, and I should be disappointed or even upset but I’m not, you see I anticipated this. As soon as he, Flame, also kno

I honestly did not think I would enjoy this book this much. The story really was refreshing and the plot was original, and besides the grammatical errors I really think that it was great.

I would love to see where the plot will go!

**I was provided a copy of this book when it was free on Amazon. This is my honest review**

When I first read the synopsis of the book, other than needed a little bit of editing, I found myself mildly intrigued by it and was curious to see what it was all about.

Unfortunately, the book fell very flat for me. I really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't get past all of the errors. The very first sentence is a fragment, and the rest of the book is littered with tense issues(switching between pas

Over the last week I read The Talented. The author Desy Morrow sent it to me and asked me to write a review which is below.
.
Carmel was an ordinary girl until she defended herself.... With water. Her mother for purely selfish reasons sends her to the crazy house where by some crazy chance she is almost killed. After being rescued by a team of talented people like her she learns that certain people posses talents. The four big ones being earth, fire, air, and water. Carmel is paired with a team at

Who doesn't like a kick-ass female lead? In The Talented, the first book in Desy Smith's The Heavenly Messenger series, we are introduced to Carmel, the first female angel created by God. After some earthly and hellish misadventures and after humans have become aware of angels or "the talented", Carmel decides to head back to Earth as a baby, relinquishing her memories until her 18th birthday.  She relearns her power and serves under her "dad"(God) as well as under the command of Ezekiel, the ki ...more

My Review – The whole idea behind the “Talented” has the potential to be great. In the brief glimpse, the author Desy Smith provided me with I received an abundance of information moving so fast I was barely able to keep up and hang on. At first, I was extremely confused with the back and forth and unsure how many times our MC Carmel was in a coma (multiple). I think the story could still unfold with the

I really enjoyed this book. It's got a fresh and unique story line with a good plot. It's definitely interesting and it kept me intrigued. I definitely liked some of the characters. And I really liked the little twist at the end. And I may also have a few critiques. Lol

Carmel is our leading lady. She had a crappy life, no ways to go around it. She grew up in foster care and her most recent stay landed her in a mental institution at 17. She's really smart, had a gift, and had learned to keep to

This one actually gets a 3.5 stars from me.

I find this one difficult to review. The story did engage me. Carmel is a teenage girl, who's been through a lot. . .the book starts off with her in a mental ward. Despite her problems, she's pretty together and has a strong personality. She's a bit biting at times, but in general, easy to like and believable. When she discovers her 'talent', it was nice to see her wielding it almost effortlessly instead of struggling like characters of these novels so

I downloaded this book when it was free on Amazon and was asked by the author for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book, it has a great storyline and I loved the characters!
Carmel has had a pretty rough life in her 17 years, she had always thought there was something different about her, but until she discovers her ability and true nature, she's unsure what it is.
Unfortunate events and an awful adoptive mother has Carmel in a mental institute, which is where she is when she's 'rescued' by

The Talented by Desy Smith

2.5 Stars

Talented is a relatively short novel with an interesting and quite original story line. It was unpredictable and did leave me wanting to read more, unfortunately I found the actual writing difficult to navigate and felt it distracted me from the plot, sometimes leaving me confused about what was going on.

There were issues with mixed tenses, immature terminology was used during narration and the dialogue was often unnatural. Simple misspellings of words such as

I was given this book for an honest review. I want to say thank you to Desy for this opportunity.

First off, this book is in need of major editing. There is a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes throughout the book. Enough that at times it hurts the flow of the book and takes away from the story. If you can look past the issues in grammar and spelling the story is a good one.

Truthfully, I will lay a book down quick if I notice bad grammar and spelling, but this story grabbed me on page one. It

The summary really had me interested and I feel that there was so much more potential to this story. I honestly feel that it is just a remake of Xmen and I LOVE Xmen…but I don’t want to read a remake of it. It was rather disappointing. That mixed

Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock. The Talented by Desy Smith will make you not wanna stop until you are done.
The starts with Carmel a young girl that has had a tragic life and is about to die at the hands of the people that run the crazy house her stepmother send her two after creating ice daggers when defending herself. But at the last second she is rescued and taken to the House of Talents were she meets people with different talents that she can relate to. The

As I started this book, I had a little trouble following what was happening due to some editing issues, but all in all, the story was a good one! New author, Desy Smith did a great job with the story line. It's about a young girl named Carmel that was adopted and has special powers that she didn't know she possessed until an incident at her house one day. It actually turned out to be a good thing for her, as her upbringing was less than desirable with the family she was with. She was placed in a ...more

I was asked by the Author to read her book in exchange for an honest review.

Carmel and Devon are our two main characters here in this story. Both characters are pretty strong and pretty well developed for their roles. I did have a hard time with the feeling I had read this story somewhere before. With that being said, I still thought the idea behind the story was a good one. I found it difficult at times to determine the real life happenings verses the dream sequence reality. I believe if that

This story had me on the edge of my seat

The story of Carmel and Devon is intense and deep. I was captured by this story from the beginning. The story opens with Carmel being held in a crazy house. She is rescued and brought to the House of Talent, where others like her learn to use and control their talents. Carmel is water.....the other elements are earth, fire and air.
The story unravels as Carmens life is in danger and she must fight to save herself and those she cares about.

My only issue is t

I am writing this review on behalf of A Kiss Down Under book blog. I enjoyed the story line for this book quite a bit. There were times where I felt like the conversations were a little unrealistic in the way they played out, but I did enjoy the book. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series. Good job Desy Smith.

Thought the book has great promise. It is an interesting story line with angels on the earth and children with talents learning to utilize their talents to fight evil. This version of the book could use a little editing by the author and republishing. There are just enough grammatical/typing errors to throw you off just a little while you are reading.

Honestly, as hard as I tried to follow this story I just couldn't. It wasn't that it as a bad story or anything, I'm just not heavily into fantasy. And when I was asked to read and review it I was expecting a story that would grab me from start to finish, this did not. ...more
