I had a ton of fun writing Witch of Death. Not only does it involve suspense and detectives, which is a common theme for many of my stories, but it also has witches in it. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by witches.

I gave Detective Liberty Sawyer (aka Libby) the characteristics of real-life modern day witches, but included a twist with her by giving her supernatural strengths. If you love supernatural-suspense stories and witches, I hope Witch of Death entertains you. :)

This was such a fun read! I wasn't sure at first, since I felt witches have been "done to death" and there's nothing more a writer can do with them, but Fey proved me wrong. The witch in question is a detective trailing a vicious serial killer, who also happens to be a witch.

The other cops struggle to believe witchcraft is responsible, but nothing else can explain the bizarre state of the murder victims. As Liberty tracks down the killer, she puts herself in danger, and her own death seems immin

A grisly, bizarre crime has occurred that defies logic. Detective Reid Sanders doesn’t want to believe in magic and witchcraft, yet that’s really the only explanation to the latest murder scene. Detective Liberty Sawyer is brought into the investigation. She’s a witch, knows that witchcraft is behind the crime, and warns that the criminal is powerful. Others will be in danger. There was a lot of suspense in seeing who'd be next in line for the the criminal to attack, if the person could be saved ...more

You know it’s going to be fun when one character denies the possibility of another ones existence when they’re standing right in front of them.

Liberty Sawyer arrives at the crime scene. She’s statuesque, her long hair falling straight down her back, dressed all in black. She’s a witch, no bones about it, and is often called in for unusual cases such as this one.

Detective Reid Sanders isn’t buying it, Sure, the case is weird. The body is suspended in mid air with nothing appearing to hold it ther

Fast-paced story that blends love story and who-done-it. Liberty Sawyer is an investigator with an unusual resume. She's a practicing witch with supernatural abilities. She's called in to work on the suspicious murder of a fellow witch. Also working on the case is the skeptical, Reid Sanders. The connection between the two of them is instantaneous and soul deep. There may be a future for them, if they can solve the murders before Liberty is the next victim. This is a short, but entertaining read ...more

Lots of Magic With Crime Solving Witch

This is a fun short paranormal read. A crime story with an interesting twist. I enjoyed the interactions between Libby and the detective. I found myself wanting more. The story was short with the potential of a much deeper and bigger tale. An enjoyable read.

As a Detective, what do you do when your victim is floating five feet off the bed? Well you call in another Detective, who just happens to be a witch, what else. Liberty Sawyer is a witch, and she takes her abilities seriously and does what she can to prevent and help the police, including her Uncle. She can't help it if his new partner is good looking, and a real pain in the butt because he refuses to believe anything she says. Witch of Death is a short story about

Witch of Death by Chrys Fey is an awesome short of suspense, thrills, magic, witches and romance, wrapped up in a wonderful package.

Liberty Sawyer is called in by the police, when a magical murder occurs - a floating corpse and a spell cast by an evil, dark magic sorcerer bring her and Reid together.

She is a psychic, a witch to be exact. She takes no guff about whether you believe in her or not. She is a witch that hunts witches to be burned alive and has a gaze that can freeze a man in his trac

A supernatural murder and a detective that doesn't believe in magic. But seeing it with his own eyes, Det. Reid Sanders must believe. When Liberty Sawyer is called to the scene, he is immediately taken with this beautiful witch. More murders are on the killer's mind, and only Liberty can figure out who it is before the killer strikes again.

A quick paranormal read with magic, mystery, and murder. Liberty may embrace being a witch, but she's easy to relate to as a woman. She wants to help people a

Liberty is a detective with special skills. Her "witchery" comes in very handy in her job. She is paired up with Reid on this new case. She has studied him from afar but this will be their first one together. Will she find the witch scum that has been killing other witches? How will she fair with Reid, a non-believer in the paranorm?

This is a short little read that will hold your attention for the whole 30 minutes it takes you to read it. The story is well developed despite being so short. I gi

This short, yet very involving read from Chrys Fey brings something new to the supernatural genre by way of a witch working as a detective to help solve crimes that would be hard to explain in normal terms. Unfortunately in this particular case she faces scepticism from a male colleague and the interplay between them was fun and snappy throughout. Although this is a short story Fey packs a lot of twists and turns in here, especially the ending which I didn't see coming. Highly recommended!

Short, fun, unique read.

This story takes a fun angle on the crime-solving scene. When head-butting detectives stand on opposite sides of the supernatural spectrum, you know you're in for a good read. Great action, nice fireworks, and the unexpected.

Content warning: some suggestive material.
