From the amazing cover to the last word in this book, T.C. Metivier delivered a well-crafted masterpiece!
As a sci-fi/fantasy lover, I expected great things from this novel and was not disappointed in the least.
The plot of Veil of Darkness was almost completely flawless, the characters are very memorable and each of the scenes could be vividly imagined. Metivier's writing style is very clear, concise and believable; making this novel a magnificent and enjoyable read.
I recommend this to any sci-fi

The best sci fi book I've read in years. Strong characters and a fresh well well written plot. If you're a sci fi fan this book is a must read.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or my review in any way.

I like a good sci-fi book every now and then, and I'm usually quite skeptical because a good sci-fi book is hard to come by... look no further!

I loved the sci-fi/fantasy mix in this book, I thought it was really refreshing and it worked really well. The mix of magic and technology made it come across as a high-tech fantasy novel more than anything, I lov

Veil of Darkness is the first in the science fiction and fantasy series, Chalas Peruvas, by T.C. Metivier. Following eight-hundred years of peace and relative prosperity from eleven different species, the Federation of Worlds—an intergovernmental organization formed to promote intergalactic cooperation—is imperilled when a hundred worlds secede. With the rumbling of war, the Federation is left unprepared and vulnerable for what is to come. The foundation of the Federation is the human planet of ...more

If there is any book or series that Veil of Darkness by T.C. Metvier reminds me of it would be Lord of the Rings, one of the greatest Fantasy adventures of all time. Just as Lord of the Rings felt huge in scope and the fate of many species were tied to the success of the heroes, the same scope and especially that frightening feeling of impending doom is found in Veil of Darkness. The big difference is that Lord of the Rings takes place in a time before history as we know it has even begun and V ...more

In a vast universe, a war is about to begin that could mean the end for all life. Admiral Ortega is leading the fight, but it is against an enemy he has never faced before. Well written, this author has created a world that is easy to imagine, with some great characters. Sci-fi lovers will really enjoy this book. Highly recommended.

Tim Metivier asked me to read his novel, "Veil of Darkness". It is a science fiction space opera with fantasy genre magic.

I have great things to say about this book as a whole, but not about the plot. I have nothing good to say about the plot. This is because the plot is prologue.

That's the gist of it. The most direct plotline is an assassination mission on the Coalition's leader, Rokan Sellas, and while that is well constructed, it is diminished by the larger plot structure. We get sev
