Based on the synopsis I was expecting this story to be a little bit of science fiction, a little dystopia, a bit of romance thrown in, and some interesting back stories. This story could instead be classified as horror with very miniscule amounts of the above thrown in. This strikes me as a first attempt at writing/publishing and while I can respect that, the author has a long way to go. The writing, while technically correct, sometimes reads more like an instruction manual, dotted with comic book type words ("CRASH", "BANG", "POW", etc....). The story itself felt disjointed and overrun with gore...and a lot of it made no sense (at least in my opinion). There were evil androids - but they bled, cried, urinated, ate, etc...). I wasn't quite sure what made them different from humans. Apparently they had some extra strength but one of the main characters was easily able to punch them unconscious. The protagonists bounced back from all kinds of physical beatings without much long lasting effect. Characters would pop into the story without any real purpose other than to provide more gore when they got caught. When a group of toys joins the fight, I more or less lost any remaining tidbit of interest I was clinging onto. This just wasn't my cup of tea.
