The Black Sheep Knitters--Maggie, Lucy, Dana, Suzanne, and Phoebe--are enjoying summer in Plum Harbor. They're shocked when the local cinema owner, Jimmy Hubbard, is found murdered one morning; just up the street from Maggie's shop. The cinema barely scraped by so a robbery was questionable.

A newcomer in town is psychic medium, Cassandra Waters. The knitters good friend, Edie, who owns Schooner Diner, has a grieving niece, Nora, who tragically lost one of her teenage sons. Nora is meeting

A MURDER IN MOHAIR is a wonderful addition to the ever growing Black Sheep Knitting mystery series.

Its always a fun, if murderous trip when visiting Plum Harbor! Lucy and the rest of the gang are always into something, and Im not talking just knitting!

Author Anne Canadeo has an easy style of writing that makes her stories flow at a wonderful pace. With A MURDER IN MOHAIR, I found myself drawn into the story from, page one. Chapter after chapter I hung on every word I read. With plenty of twists

The mystery was okay, about par for the series. This series has always been old fashioned about pretty much everything, but I've always been able to put that into a cozy box and read past it. Now the multiple microaggressions in this book are making it difficult for me to justify reading further in the series.

Liked the book but at first it was confusing as the author introduced so many characters right away, I had trouble keeping them straight. After I got past that I found the story great reading.

First, Jimmy Hubbard, the owner-manager of the local movie theater is murdered, and it looks like may have been a robbery gone wrong. The Black Sheep Knitters mull over the mystery, but don't really reach any conclusions. They are more concerned about Nora Gordon, who became extremely depressed after her teenage son died. Lately though, she has begun seeing a psychic called Cassandra Waters, which seems to be providing her with some relief. However, her aunt and her friends worry about this ...more

Closer to a 3.5.

Better than the previous book, but still not great. Characters are slow to realize things that are obvious, yet keep their mouths shut about other things that most people would discuss.

The ending with the birthday party was particularly awful. Going to a beach house that is located 15 minutes away from their town, but somehow managing to get lost (on purpose) and taking over an hour to find it? It's a small point, but just screams stupid to me. I know what the author was going

This is the 8th book in the series. The knitters are stunned to hear of the death of their local theater manager, in an apparent robbery. They are also surprised to find out that there is a new psychic medium in town, one who is working her way through the pockets of the community by way of their grief. The gang pulls together to see if they can out her fraudulent practices before she causes any more trouble. When another death occurs, the knitters must pull together the pieces and help solve ...more

Eighth in this series and the Black Sheep Knitters are going strong. The manager of the local cinema is found murdered and it may be a robbery gone wrong but things in his past surface and drugs may be involved. Crime is on the move and the Black Sheet Knitters are suspicious of a woman who claims she is a psychic. The group decides to hire her for a group session to see what she is all about. Unfortunately this psychic is also found murdered and as her past is revealed things get very confusing ...more

This 2015 Black Sheep Knitting mystery series has the group of friends helping to figure out the murderer of both a local business owner and also a newcomer who is a psychic. Interesting characters and settings, with the usual romantic tensions and fitness nuts. Includes a couple of recipes and a link to a free online knitting pattern. (

A pretty good mystery. And there's knitting! This is the eighth book in a series and it would have been nice to read them in order but not totally necessary. Read it, you'll like it.

The good friends in the Black Sheep Knitting Mysteries have been involved in helping the police crack murders in seven previous books. Though the group of knitters never actively set out to become entangled in the investigations, their participation just seems to happen, often because of anxiety for a certain individual. When another murder takes place in Plum Harbor, the five women only knew the victim as an acquaintance and other situations grabbed their attention. But often one mystery will ...more

I haven't read the other books, but often you can come into a middle of a long running cozy mystery series and not feel too far behind. I felt that way here. While it was obvious that I missed some other shenanigans that happened to the group (or specific individuals) I didn't feel lost and so enjoyed the murder mystery unfolding in front of me.

The first murder happened and I immediately knew that several members of the knitting group involve themselves into what goes on in the town. Not just
The ladies of the Black Sheep Knitting group are shocked when a local theater owner is killed--robbery seems likely--but more upset that a "psychic" is fleecing a grieving family. They even schedule a group reading by the psychic to see if they can catch her at any dirty tricks. When there's another murder in their small town, Lucy can't help digging into it, although the yarn shop owner Maggie, in deference to her policeman-beau, decides to sit this one out. Not too many surprises, but a ...more

This is 8th in the black sheep knitting mystery series. Jimmy the manager of a local cinema is killed and everyone is surprise but the black sheep knitting club is more worried about a psychic Isabel and how she has hoodwinked one of their friends into spending a large amount of money each week. The group sets out to find Jimmy's killer and to expose the psychic. This was a good book much better than book 7.

I always enjoy reading about the Black Sheep knitters and I was so happy when I found this book at the library the other day.

Once again there is a murder but this time Maggie is trying to stay on the sidelines so Lucy is head snoop. I always love reading well written books about knitting friends, I can't wait to see what the next book is about!

This is the first book of this series I've read. Like the Massachusetts coast setting. I thought the book would be stronger with less repetition and tighter editing. Murder solution was quite predictable but did like the characters.

This book is true to the series, a nice relaxing read. My only complaint is that the name of the psychic in the description on the back cover is incorrect.
