Kim Yes, I read the second as a standalone. It does build if you want to feel part of the romantic subplot, but otherwise is standalone.

All Dressed in White by Mary Higgins Clark and the 3rd book in the Under Suspicion Series, written in collaboration with Alafair Burke, featuring Laurie Moran, a television star, who has her own show that investigates cold cases.

Laurie is asked by a distraught mother, to investigate the disappearance of her daughter, Amanda Pierce, on the night before her wedding five years ago.
Labeled all those years ago as the Runaway Bride crime, it had never been resolved.

Under Suspicion had become very successful in the short time Laurie Moran had been running the show. When searching for their next cold case in the series to investigate, Laurie had been approached by Sandra Pierce, the mother of a young woman who had been touted in the media as “The Runaway Bride" – five years previously Amanda had been with her family and bridal party at The Grand Victoria Hotel in Palm Beach in the days before her big day. Then with only one full day left until the ceremony, ...more

Every now and then, I just want to sit back and be entertained. Mind you, I still want a good whodunit - I'm just not in the mood for blood and guts, big guns blasting in the desert or super-heroes (or heroines) who can take down a dozen martial arts professionals with one hand tied behind their back and the other in a cast.

Enter Mary Higgins Clark, who's pretty much guaranteed to come through on that score, and this one - the second in the Under Suspicion series co-written with Alafair Burke -

― Mary Higgins Clark, All Dressed in White

I am a big Higgins Clark fan. One can always count on her to deliver a great mystery! Yet this book, All Dressed in White did not grab me at all and I am not sure why.

I liked the set up. A Bride mysteriously vanishes and years later, still unsolved, this mystery is being worked as a cold case.

In some ways, the book had a bit of intrigue as it was a genuine who done it. The issue for me was it seemed to mov

I've been going through my eARCs and the best part is when I discover that my audiobook service has books I have had for a long time to read. Like this one. Confession, I have never read a Mary Higgins Clark book before, despite that she has written A LOT of books. So, this one was my first and I quite liked the book.

The book feels a bit like reading Murder she Wrote episode if you know what I mean. A crime has been committed and someone in the group around the person has committed the crime. No
I've been reading Mary Higgins Clark's mystery thrillers for a decade now, and I've read so many of them that I've already lost count. She is my go-to writer whenever I want a heart-pounding mystery. And this book did not disappoint in that aspect.

All Dressed in White is the second novel in her Under Suspicion series, which features our heroine, Laurie, as she tries to uncover the truth about Amanda Pierce's disappearance. Amanda went missing 5 years ago, just a day before her dream wedding. Eve

Please don’t think I am heartless but Laurie still holding on after five years is getting a bit annoying. At this point she is being beyond selfish to Alex. The suspense and mystery plots were entertaining and kept me enrapt. I really love his series so far and can’t wait to go ahead and move on to the next installment.

My quick and simple overall: quick and entertaining.

Very, very tricky Ms. Clark...just when I start to complain (loudly) that you're losing you're wonderfully campy, melodramatic edge you up and start writing with the super fresh and super talented Alafair Burke!!!! Well played madame, well played...

If you've read any of my previous Mary Higgins Clark reviews (which I encourage as they are funny) you will know that I hold this lovely, perfectly coiffed (to the point where I am certain she shellacs her head every morning) maven of the soap opera m

Getting your hands on the latest Mary Higgins Clark book is just like popping on an old pair of comfy pjs and knowing exactly what to expect, a cosy, easy to read, mystery. This author has written many books and her formula seems to work very well, a murder (or disappearance in this case) a cast of suspects who all seem to have something to hide, told in short chapters (just one more before I go to sleep!) with a neatly tied up ending.
This is the second novel about the Under Suspicion tv series

A very good thriller. Nice, solid entertainment and a huge surprise at the end. Never expected this figure to be the bad person who took all these lives. But I would have liked it very much to get to know a bit more about the relationship between Amanda and her elder sister Charlotte. But okay, you can't have everything.
I liked the way this thriller was written, very much. Fast, diversified, a great plot and characters who aren't what they seem to be at first sight. If you like Mary Hi

“All Dressed in White” by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke

“All Dressed in White” is the second book in the Under Suspicion series co-authored by the much esteemed Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke.
Laurie Moran’s wildly popular crime show, Under Suspicion, features profiles of cold cases in hopes of finding a resolution. Missing persons is not their usual forte, but when the mother of Amanda Pierce asks Laurie to help her uncover the truth about her daughter’s mysterious disappearance, Lau

This has been my first MHC book I've read in years! Back in the day, I only read mysteries and she was always one of my top authors to read. I don't know why I stopped reading her books. Her books are easy fast reads but manage to capture your attention to keep you reading late into the night. What I like about MHC books is that its just simply a mystery. Not a lot of suspense and gore; just trying to solve the case. There's no intricate details either. It was a classic MHC story. I ha

As a longtime fan of Mary Higgins Clark I am always excited about reading her newest books. Honestly though her books lately have gotten predictable and not as exciting but her newest series Under Suspicion with Alafair Burke has helped returned her to her spot as the queen of suspense.
All Dressed in White like my other favorite Mary Higgins Clark books was hard to put down. I sped through it enjoying all the twist and turns that kept me caught up in the story and having to know what happened ne

It's been a very long time since I read a book by Mary Higgins Clarke. I received this one from netgalley and the publisher in return for an honest review. Many thanks to them.

This is the second book in the 'Under suspicion' series. It is again written as a suspense novel but this time Ms Clarke is co-writing with Alafair Burke.
Like all the others I've read this one did not disappoint. I loved the short snappy chapters. The storyline was very good. I suspected many people of committing the crime

Amanda Pierce disappeared just before her wedding was to take place in Palm Beach at the Grand Victoria Hotel. Five years later, her mother begs Laurie, developer of the Under Suspicion team to investigate Amanda's disappearance. Clark, in her usual form, fully developed her characters and added vivid detail to each and every scene. All in the bridal party were suspect, especially the groom and as the interviews with each of them are concluded, one isn't positive who was guilty despite everyone ...more

Laurie Moran and her team have been researching and preparing pitch ideas for the next Under Suspicion television show. They've narrowed their choices down to three unsolved cases when the mother of the so-called "runaway bride" comes in and asks that they find out the truth about her daughter's disappearance. Laurie is sure that this case is the case for Under Suspicion to investigate in All Dressed In White by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke.

While this was my first book by Mary Higgins Clark, it was not my first book by Alafair Burke. For me, it was okay. I'm used to a lot more suspense where this one had a casual suspense hanging over it, a bride had been missing for five years. It wasn't page turning or gripping for me until the ending.

It was a decent read and I had absolutely no idea who had done it and I believed the author's when they pointed the fingers at every suspect for me. And no, I did not guess the real suspect at all.

I really enjoyed this newest offering by Mary Higgins Clark/Alafair Burke. It was more interesting & enjoyable than many of her later offerings. It's written in her classic style, and is filled with characters you'll enjoy reading about. The only thing I missed in this one was the sparks between Laurie and Alex. There aren't very many interactions between them here, but hopefully will be more in the books to come in the series.

Just the type of thriller I like and expect from Mary Higgins Clark. Laurie produces a television series that investigates crimes that haven't been solved. She is looking into the disappearance of a runaway bride whose mother is convinced died 5 years ago on the eve of her wedding. As Laurie and her team investigate, they help the police find her body and point the investigation into someone very close by. This is book two of a series and somehow I missed book one. I enjoy this new series by Mary Higgins Clark. Laurie is a widow that finds cold cases to solve on her tv show, Under Suspicion. I am enjoying the Under Suspicion series by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke. These books are not standalone thrillers like Mary Higgins Clark books, but mysteries, cold cases that are solved by the Under Suspicion crew. I read this in one sitting, however, it didn't leave a particular impression on me. I only kept reading oout of sheer curiosity of what happened to Amanda and it was an easy enough read.

I enjoyed the set up of having a TV show uncovering cold cases. I didn't feel connected to any of the main characters, although that could be because I didn't know this was part of a series of novels and perhaps they were more developed in the first few novels. This was a very slow-burn mystery - the plot o

I kept expecting the grand reveal in All Dressed in White by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke. They had certainly gathered the suspects together as in any Agatha Christie mystery. It just shows how clever the book is that they even managed to switch up the traditional ending.

Laurie is the behind the scenes investigative reporter / producer of Under Suspicion a TV program that investigates unsolved crimes. She's the power house that brings all the players together and with the aide of putting all their stories together, perhaps over looked pieces will re-submerge leading to a possible discovery of the truth of what really happened.

The focus is on Amanda, a bride gone missing on the verge of her wedding nuptials. It has been now 5 years and no resolve, suspicions abo
