Kerrigan is a 23 year old girl who is finally moving out and goes to live in Redwoods, after she found a picture of her mother at that place. For some reason her parents had been secretive and they didn't want their sheltered daughter to go, but she found a position as a personal assistant at Vaughn Enterprises and she won't deny her dream job, just because her parents are over-protective.

When she visits her new office, everyone acts like they know a secret, that she doesn't. There she becomes the personal assistant of the hot owner, Mr. Damon Vaughn, who according to her new best friend and neighbor, Bryce, is an asshole. She feels a pull with her boss, even though he's dating Lucia, a hot model and Kerrigan could never compete her, instead she wants to be like her. At the same time, she starts having weird dreams, the place feels familiar, plus many secrets seem to be surrounding her.

Ever since moving here everything seems a little off. Not in a bad way, just in a way that seems familiar yet completely new.

I have to admit that this book surprised me. When I requested this book I had no idea that this was . I thought it would be a regular contemporary romance, but this definitely was a surprise. I'm not a hater of the genre, so I wasn't disappointed.

At first I was curious and I admit that it had a dosage of suspense and mystery. I can't say I felt a great connection with the characters, but I liked Bryce, I enjoyed the dreams and her transformation and Damon's POV. I'm curious to read the rest of the series, since the book ended with a cliffhanger.

Overall, it was an okay read, but I felt like something was missing. Maybe because the hero had a relationship and I didn't see any kind of romance between them or maybe because it made me think that the heroine had a thing for his girlfriend instead. Hopefully the next one will have more romance & more adventure and it will be longer, because this felt like a novella.

I'm glad the authors didn't tell me this was a paranormal romance or I wouldn't have one clicked and then I would have missed out on the beginning of a wonderful story. This is the introduction to Damon and Kerrigan's story in this first installment is kind of a mystery you have more questions than answers. Can't wait for the next installment to find out what is going on.

4 stars, wow this story was not at all what I thought it was going to be. It’s so different but in a great way!!!

This book is so different and I will be honest if someone would have told me this was a paranormal book, I probably wouldn’t have given it a second glance. But this book was so good!! I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but I will say you definitely need to read this book to fully understand what I mean. It’s such a great, emotional read. It’s a really quick read as well, and part of a series!! Well done, I’m hooked!!

Review for Girl Crush By Kaydee Mavericks and Riley Rhea
The first book in the Redwood Series

I received a copy of this book for an honest review
This book deserves 10 stars!!!!! That is how good this book is.

I LOVED this book!!! It is shorter then I would like but it keeps you turning page for page! I didn’t want to put it down and I did to eat, sleep and work.

I got to meet Kerrigan who grew up in Kentucky and is very very sheltered. Her parents kept her sheltered and really controlled her life but she studied hard and graduates at an early age with a Masters! That is impressive for a character but understandable since you have so much free time you might as well study.

She moves away to Redding where Vaughn Enterprises is and is now an assistant. Great job, great money and a new place where she can explore but there is a pull there, something she cannot describe and I want to know what it is! I was hoping to find out in this book but it doesn’t tell you, so now I will read the next book and find out.
Bryce helps Kerrigan come out of her shell and helps her with a new warbdrobe plus a spa day, I want a spa day! Kerrigan is jealous and envious of Lucia who is super beautiful with blonde hair but she really likes her like a girl crush, yes I listened to Little Big Town’s song of Girl Crush. I liked it and very fitting for this book too.

There is non stop action and fantastic dreams and the beautiful Red Wood Forest in this book and I highly recommend it to everyone! I loved it and I will be getting the next book.

Girl Crush (Redwoods 1) - Kaydee Mavericks/Riley Rhea 5 Great Big Redwood Stars

This is the 1st book in the series and it does leave you wanting much much more. This book is sooo NOT what I expected..... I am so in love with this book, I didn't want it to end.

Kerrigan has accepted a job in California and is moving away from everything she has ever known. Her new town feels more like home than ever and she settles in really quickly, with her new job, hot boss and her new best friend. Then there's the strange dreams and things are starting to unfold.

I love a good paranormal read and I honestly had no idea this was what I was reading, I love the way this story slowly and beautifully unfolds. Kerrigan's character is brilliant - how she begins to change from boring to beautiful, oh and not forgetting her loose lipped comments when she's drunk! I was so completely absorbed in this book that I was gutted when it came to an end - I NEED more now! I am so looking forward to book 2 please don't make me wait too long.

This story was not at all what I expected. I will be the first to tell you that paranormal romances are not usually my thing. However Girl Crush grabbed me immediately. Did I know it was a paranormal romance coming into it? No I didn't and for that I am grateful because if I would have known I probably would have missed out on a wonderful beginning to a series.

I am not going to go into details about the storyline because I don't want to risk spoiling anything. All I can tell you there are secrets, looks and conversations that will make you wonder what the hell is going on and what these people know that Kerrigan. I was hooked from the beginning.

The characters are wonderfully written to the point it feels like I am sitting in the room with them watching the drama unfold.

Is there a cliffhanger? Yes there is but it doesn't make me upset. It just keeps me anxiously waiting for the second book in the series.

OMG Girl Crush was awesome could not put it down. You have Kerrigan whose parents gave her a shelter life would not let her go out or anything. Therefore, she did what she could and study hard in school graduated early and got her masters at 23. She finds this town and she is drawn to it for some reason. Therefore, she looks for a job around the town and fined ones. She fills as if she belongs that there is a magnet pulling her there. She meets Bryce the first day she moves in to her apartment and they become friends right away. Then she finds Damon her boss and feels like she knows him like there is a pull for them to be together but he has a girlfriend who she is jealous of not sure why. This is an awesome book and I mean awesome book if I could give more than 5 stars I would you will not want to put it down you will fall in love with the characters. So grab this book why you can you will not be disappointed. I hope book 2 comes out fast.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I absolutely LOVE Kaydee Mavericks. I have read all her books and loved every single one and this one is no exception. I'm really glad that I didn't know that this had a paranormal twist to it. I'm not a huge paranormal fan, but this book definitely had me singing a different tune. I was totally engulfed into this story and was ready to throw my phone at the end. I knew it was going to be a cliffhanger but even knowing that I still wanted to throw it across the room. I immediately messaged Kaydee begging her for the next part.. Damon is oh so yummy. Kerrigan is a great heroine and then there is Bryce who is the best best friend and hilarious too. I can not wait to find out what happens. Please ladies write faster!! This is a 5 AMAZEBALLS stars!! A copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

Girl Crush race out of it's gate at the pace of my local DMV's office. Sllooooooowwwwwww. It retained that pace, giving no true actions or information until it's final few pages. Then like a cock blocker, it left me hanging with my jaw unhinged and a WTF bubble above my head. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of the cliffhanger. If I wanted to be left handing, I'd zip line or some crap.

As for the book itself. The plotline had me fooled. My inner mind was blaring the words Boring until the very (stupid cliffhanging) end. Which happened to have some good parts that sparked my interest and I'm like yeah, now the writer got her pace. Then I hit the abyss of now more words. Girl Crush, you sucked balls for that.

Now as for the writing. Not a fan. Sorry, to say. I found it's style geared for tweens in it's simplistic but over used elementary descriptions. A lot of complex and overly complex sentences could be deleted and the book would be better for it. Also, the writer feels as if every breath, every movement, every actions needed to be described. Writer, stop that.

I don't need to know if a person sat on the toilet, wiggled their toes, strained, waited, and strained again before giving birth, then reached over and grabbed the toilet paper. Tore off three pieces. Reached behind. Then wiped.

Your eyes got crossed, huh? Yeah, in Girl Crush mine did too. Writer, stop it. I don't need to know every single move made.

Overall, I give Girl Crush a 2.5 out of five.

Goddamn Cliffy! FML!

Okay, I'm not gonna give any spoilers but as you can see in the description/cover image of the book its about a "plain" girl who is intrigued and have a crush on his boss. Sounds like your typical fluffy and uncomplicated book yeah? Well, its more than that! For once, this is actually a paranormal romance, the plot.. the secret behind all these kept me on the edge!

It has everything I liked in a book- good plot, lots of mystery, we have a "kinda" alpha male hero (sadly he's not OTT, maybe he will be in the second book.), a likeable heroine who's a lil weakish but (I'm all into underdog heroine.. so yay for me!) The hero is taken.. Yes, he's in a relationship with another woman (so a lil heads up if you're easily offended by these kind of theme.) but again, I like me some complicated romance in my books.. so I'm loving this!! And it has some detailed sex scene with the hero and the gf.. so again.. A lil heads up for that but since I'm a lil weirdo, I find THAT scene sexy and enjoyed it very much! lol!

sigh... I can't wait for the next book! Hopefully I don't have to wait forever or else I'ma have to stalk these two authors!

4.5 stars I am truly speechless. I never read stories like this but for some reason I felt very connected to it. Bryce and Damon are very mysterious where Kerrigan is so innocent your often wondering why she feels this connection with the town. The dreams it gives you a look at what happens but there are so many blanks. The only part I didn't like was Lucia I mean don't get me wrong she was super sweet but it made me mad. The chemistry between these characters is seriously animalistic. You are feeding of more from the characters. This author did a phenomenal job and I for one will be continuing this story. Is it done yet??? Honestly look at my books I read I can't get into this kind but you turned me. This was given to me for an honest review from the author. What can I say about Girl Crush by Kaydee Mavericks and Riley Rhea. These two collaborated and came up with a book, a series
really that is right up any paranormal lovers aisle. I will warn you know that there is a cliffhanger, but that is only because there is going
be more to come.

Kerrigan Marks knew from the minute that she saw the picture of her mother standing in the Northern California Redwoods, that is where she is meant to be. When she receives a job offer from Vaughn Enterprises in Redding, California she jumps at the chance and never looks back. Working as the Assistant to Damon Vaughn could prove to be a bit much for young Kerrigan. From the moment she lays eyes on him she wants him, but the problem is that his beautiful, blond model of a girlfriend might not like that idea. Now all Kerrigan can think about is how much she wishes that she were Lucia, how she wishes that she had Damon, and how she wishes that her hot, handsome boss would look at her in the same way.

But the longer that Kerrigan is in Redding, the longer that she works for Damon at Vaughn Enterprises, the more she starts having strange dreams. There is something going on in the Redwoods that she can't quite understand, but as things start to come to light, Kerrigan might get everything she ever wanted......but at what cost?

I loved everything about Kerrigan. She is young, sheltered, but in Redding she feels free to be herself, free to make a new start, and safer than any place that she has ever been before. I love the dynamic between Damon and Kerrigan. The way that he seems to know that she is present even when he is busy with something, or someone else just adds to the story. Nope, no spoilers from me. There is a reason and you will find out why, but again, mind you, there is a cliffhanger and more will be revealed hopefully in the next book. Bryce, Kerrigan's upstairs neighbor and part of the Redding secret is laugh out loud funny. The way that he looks out for Kerrigan, the way that he protects her and encourages her made me want him for a BFF. Bryce is the kind of guy that will have Kerrigans back. I truly enjoyed this wonderful story and I look forward to the release of the next book in the series. I give this wonderful new series 5 super stars.

AMAZING! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!
Anyone that knows me knows that I love all things paranormal, now not all paranormal romances are great, and some are downright disappointing, especially for me because I really LOVE paranormal everything. This book was definitely NOT a disappointment, it is awesome! My only complaint is that I hit the last page much too soon, but that's only because I was sucked right into the story and did not stop turning pages until it was finished. (even then a experimentally swiped a few times hoping there was a bit more lol) These authors have really set the bar and it will be a terrific feat to reach it again or surpass it. I am DYING for the next installment because there is a super OMG cliffhanger ending! If you love paranormal you will love and I have to say that being a reader of all genres, you don't have to be a paranormal lover expressly to love this book. I highly recommend and am breathlessly anticipating the next part! I was given a complimentary copy od this book in exchange for an honest review.
