This is such a fun book! I love how it is also educational! On one page we see a photo and guess whether it is poop or not, and the correct answer is revealed on the next page. It’s not easy to guess correctly! On the page with the answer, we also get to read some facts about the particular creature that the photo relates to. I can imagine children being proud to share their new-found facts with family and friends. New words which might be unfamiliar to children are highlighted in bold italic font and are in a glossary at the back of the book with a definition.

Definitely a fun book for children from 4 years upwards. Although it is a picture book, I suspect that older children will have just as much fun with it. I’d definitely recommend it for a bit of fun and also learning about the natural world.

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I received an egalley of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fantastic, funny, and informative interactive book for kids that invites them to guess if something is poop or not and then teaches them all sorts of really cool science facts! Kids will learn about camouflage, mimicry, digestion, and more!

As a homeschool parent, I have apparently collected a large assortment of science books at my house about poop. We can identify it on the trail, and we know that everybody poops. I recently had the opportunity to read Is It Poop? A Guessing Game With Poop and Things That Look Like Poop by Kizzi Roberts, M.S. Animal Science. It was so much fun.

First, the book is more of a game which my kids found to be quite fantastic. It has a picture of "poop" and you have to decide whether it is poop or something that just looks like it. Which my kids thought was the best game ever.

Second, it has really interesting facts like why animals would benefit from looking like poop. It used real terminology and photos to explain these concepts to kids.

Overall, I think it's a really wonderful book you can find on Amazon. While I didn't receive compensation for this review, I did receive ARC access to read it with my kids for their honest opinion.

Honestly, they're still in the other room saying poop, poop, poop while laughing. I'd say it was a really big success.

We all know that little boys like books about gross things and poop is right up there. This book is a lot of fun and my 7 YO grandson loved it. A picture is presented with the question: Is it Poop? He would guess, then we would turn the page for the answer. The question would be answered with lots of illustrations and facts about the animal it was or the animal whose poop it was. He learned about mimicry (why and animal would want to look like poop), various shapes of poop and other things that animals excrete, some that they would then eat again. He loved the page about the Asian Palm Civet who eats coffee berries then poops out the coffee beans which are then made into a very expensive coffee called kopie luwak. He thought it was really gross and wanted to know if I drink that coffee. This is a great book that we spent a lot of time with, flipping back and forth with the pages. I highly recommend this one for kids interested in science, animals and even poop.

A fantastic funny children’s book. This book is a lot of fun and is perfect for children to participate and read along with an adult. When I read this with my daughter she loved the anticipation to find out if her guess of ‘is it poop?’ was correct or not. It’s been a long time since we laughed this much whilst reading a book. Highly recommended.

Thank you Netgalley for the book!

I never questioned the shape and form of the dung of other animals... Until this book.

"Is It Poop?" is a fun and engaging guessing-game book that sparks curiosity about animal dung 😉

Is It Poop? by Kizzi Roberts was an exciting read. It was well organized and very informative. To help readers retain information, the author bolds words that may be challenging for some readers. The graphics were phenomenal and really brought the book to life.

What kid does not like poop? This non-fiction book it's great for getting your kids to read. I found it very informative and liked how it's set up like a guessing game. For myself I wish it was a bit on the longer side.

Loved this book! The layout, with the question on one page and the answer on the next, is a perfect execution of the theme. Even as an adult, I learned a lot -- not only about poop, but also some things about the animals that produced the poop (or look like poop) as well.

I received this book in order for an honest review from netgalley. I have never read a book about poop but it's neat to see how animals camouflage themselves to get away from predators..

4.5 On one side of the page we get the photo of what we find, on the other side which animal it belongs to, if it's poop or not and explanation. The fly is hilarious. Some we didn't guess it looked yes but it was a no. Teaches a lot, very well designed.
