Everyday life may be rife with challenges for the modern woman, but she prevails with her hip humor and sassy sentiments. We may be invincible, but we are also tired. We may be quirky and stressed, but we also know how to live and love large. Here is a book that celebrates you in all your outrageous glory.
A friend gifted me this book from the keepsake series a few years ago. She is one of those ‘do-it-all’ women, a neuroscientist, who is going to get a Nobel Prize someday if fate is kind. No surprise she knew the title tells my truth (or the truth of a lot of other women). As for the book itself, it is a sassy little read that is hilarious and perfect for lifting your mood on a tough evening.
Everywhere I look in my house are books. Stacks and stacks of books that I want to read. I decided this year that I want to read 52 books--whether they are children's books that I read with my clients, fiction, non-fiction, young adult, whatever. I am going to start a book shelf and continue to add one book at a time--all 52--which I can then glance upon at the end of the year. At least that will be 52 books that will be off tables, chest of drawers, piled in the corner, underneath my bed. 52 books. Yes, I can do this. This was a short, but sweet, little book, given to me by my neighbor for Christmas. Maybe I've told her how tired I am one too many times, I thought, when she gave me the book, "I Am Woman, I Am Invincible, I Am Tired." But I loved it. Lots of good platitudes. My favorite, "Think deeply, speak gently, love much, laugh aloud, work hard, give freely, and be kind."
