A beautiful facsimile of the original edition and an excellent addition to anyones library

I liked how it was written, and I think small kids would love it; however it did not tell the story, it actually just talked a little bit about some scenes, but you didn't get a general idea of the whole story

It is a very simple yet interesting in its writing style .

Aínda en galego, a historia rara é rara, aínda contada ao fillo polas noites a anacos.
Boas ilustracións.

3 stars = a charming read.

Man findet also tatsächlich einige neue Informationen:

This is the children's version of Alice in Wonderland. Lewis Carroll writes as if he is talking to the child being read to. It was so cute and fun and the original illustrations which he refers to all of the time are from the more advanced book.

A very playful and loving adaptation by Carroll himself for children ages "naught to five" - with fantastic color added to the illustrations. For the most part, the jokes, riddles, and logic puzzles are removed, leaving mainly plot and description, and many questions pointed at the youngsters. A few new digressions are added, which, along with the 1890 fascimiles, make this an essential addition to the Carroll library!

This book is a simpler version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with the first-person perspective of Alice herself. the book was exciting because the stakes were really high if you were Alice.

For the Carroll scholar, this is a MAJORLY important source for understanding the Tenniel/Carroll-approved coloration of the original art (NOT the Disney version, for sure!), as well as for KEY enlightenment from Carroll himself as to what is going on within a few of Tenniel's pictures (such as the art of the Caterpillar).

My copy of this book is a worn out, ex-library edition with a broken, taped-up spine. But I'll always keep it. Not for the amusing - though much softened and shortened - retelling of the Alice story for little children, but for the fully colored Tenniel etchings. This book was the first to have the illustrations colored and it is striking.

I was impressed that the author didn't just take lines directly from the originally and instead paraphrased the story with special emphasis on the illustrations. The whole story read as a conversation between author and child.

Absolutely beautiful book, it's as if Lewis Carroll is reading to you. A completely charming version of Alice for little ones or Wonderland fans.
Sweet enough as an introduction to Alice for little ones, but personally I prefer the original!
A charming "little kid" version of Alice in Wonderland.

The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by the pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican clergyman and photographer.

His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all considered to be within the genre of literary nonsense.
