Wow! I didn't see that coming. Thacker has the ability (and the nerve) to build a group of characters that seem well defined even though one of them (at least) has had his memory erased. Purposely erased. The reader gets glimpses between the action which never stops. It's the result of AI taking over in a more horrifying a way than I've ever imagined. You can't slow down reading because you are running right along with them. So glad this is only #1. Read it! I'm going to hide under the bed until I can read book #2.
I enjoyed this book, once I got used to the way the chapters are set up. The overall plot of the series is scary given today's realities and it really makes you wonder where we will be in a few years.
Really glad I found the second book before I read this one. On its own, a great story, but the ending left the mystery unfinished. I hate books that do that. I’m starting book 2 right now. Hopefully the answers will soon be found.
Oh. My. Goodness! Talk about page turners. I couldn’t flip this any faster if I tried. Awesome plot. Great characters. Smart and witty. Can’t wait to keep reading the next Relics Singularity Thrillers book.
I am still trying to decide whether l like this book. Totally different to Nicks other books and it is taking me a while to get use to. Very thought provoking l am starting book 2 to see how this story developers.
I love the depth of character and was amazed with the knowledge you have about Computers and AI, the vocabulary of future things to consider the possibilities of Life. I seriously couldn’t stop reading and thinking about this book.
