After reading this novella, I am definitely on Team Zane!
This was such a sweet, but sad novella. We get full insight on Zane & Ari's relationship before the memory wipe and the move to planet Novo. I loved their relationship! Like I said, it's sweet, but you can also tell that they really love each other and plan to be together in the future. This is what makes the novella so sad! You know that Ari is going to be moving to planet Novo, get her memory wiped, and end up with another man!

Yesterday and today I read the short story prequels from both male members of the True Calling love triangle. From book one of the series, True Calling, I have been team Cal all the way. So I was kind of stunned that in the short stories, I prefer Zane over Cal. For my review I decided to do something different. I will compare and contrast Zane's and Cal's books and give you an insight as to why my loyalties switched.

Maturity level: Cal in his book seemed quite immature. He claims he has changed
I knew it. I knew I would have my heart torn out. I knew I would need a roll of paper towels, even for this short read. Any time the male POV is the sole voice, the insight into the male heart and mind can be a journey through hell and beyond and Zane’s tale of his relationship with Ari on Earth, is one heartbreaking journey. Talk about shedding light on a relationship forced to end before it finished blooming, how unfair life and circumstance can be, whoa, Siobhan Davis is in rare form for this ...more

Initial thoughts:

Light of a Thousand Stars Light of a Thousand Stars by Siobhan Davis is a short novella for the True Calling series, told from Zane's POV and set prior to the Skyee family leaving for Novo. First of all bravo Siobhan Davis for making me squall like a baby in this book AND for giving us a back story to Novo all in under 100 pa

This is a short story in the True Calling series told from Zane’s perspective. This is dubbed 2.5, but it is set before True Calling takes place, just before Ariana and her family move to Novo. Those who have read True Calling or Beyond Reach will already have some idea of Zane and Ariana’s backstory and a pretty solid handle on how much he loves her, but Light of a Thousand Stars really brings it home.

I must say that through it all, I was crying inside, especially knowing what’s in store for t

Light of a Thousand Stars is book two-point-five in the True Calling series, and it’s an interesting addition to the series. Although it is not a necessity to read this one to understand the overall series, it is a nice little extra for those who want to know about the characters prior to the start of the series.

In truth, I knew before going into this one that I would not be crazy about the story. I’m not crazy about either of the boys in the love triangle, but if forced to make a choice I would

Although this short novella length story has just been released, it really takes place before ‘True Calling’. However I’m glad I read that, and the second in the series ‘Beyond Reach’ first. It just felt right to have some of the gaps filled in at this stage.

This series has a love triangle with a new slant at its heart, and having fluctuated between Cal and Zane, with the gut feeling that Ari belongs with Cal, I now find myself leaning in the direction of Zane. It is very difficult not to like h

I loved getting a glimpse into Zane and Ari before their separation. I'm very curious about Gil and Emily, my thoughts keep leading me towards a revelation about them, and although I am not totally in love with what my mind is coming up with, I think it will be an interesting read, but I suppose I'll have to wait for the next book to see how the story evolves. Also, I think Zane needs to change his definition for what he thinks a "nice" girl is because I think his interpretation is lacking, and ...more

This is a really sweet short novella. I really loved getting insight into Ari’s and Zane’s past. Both of them have been madly in love. I can only imagine what the pain Zane goes through when Ari is separated from him.

I’ve got to say that this novel made me love Zane more. I really understood where he came from. Originally, I’d label him as a love sick boy, but dude this boy is super in love. I really need my own Zane.

It was also really cool to see Ari a

This installment is told from Zane's POV. I loved getting to hear about his love story & his beginning with Ari! It was one of the pieces of the puzzle I've been aching for. Because, we've seen how devoted he is to Ari but want to know more about the "why". We get to see Zane in his element & if you loved Zane before, you will find your love for him only grows stronger{he is everything we've come to expect & way more}. This book definitely delivers and also gives you some more insights into Ari' ...more

Loves this novella. A very quick read from Zane's prospective. Zane is an all round nice guy. But I'm still team Cal. This book sheds some light on what will happen in book 3 regarding book 2s cliffhanger ending. Something Ari recalled once she got her memory back something that once nearly destroyed her.

Due to the Ari's announcement near the end of book 2, I hope she picks Cal. *though authors do enjoy throwing curve balls.

I can understand why Zane blew up when he found out Ari and Cal had slep

Well, now I'm even more conflicted. I've been Team Cal this whole time, but now I get Ari and Zane. And I feel super bad for him, especially with where he is at by the end of book two. And that first chapter preview of book three? Devastating. Plus, it's driving me crazy not knowing what this big secret is that has been on the verge of being revealed. I need to know!

I love Zane. I am team Zane from book 1 and the author seemed to have noticed that as well. So when I signed up for the blog tour of book 3 Destiny Rising, she graciously provided me this book as well as she knew I love Zane. And I can't thank her enough for this. I loved this book so much and it crushed me to see Zane crumple down when Ariana was taken to planet Nov

I am excited every single time I get to read anything new from Siobhan Davis because I know it will be an amazing read and this novella was no different. Similar in style to Love struck we see an snippet of what life was like before Novo for Zane and Ari.

Normally this cover would not be my thing at all however this is exactly what Zane and Ari look like! It sums up their relationship in one perfect picture and the stars over the cover add the mystery. I love all of the other covers and this one

Light Of A Thousand Stars is a gripping and heart wrenching novella told from Zane’s POV, which takes place long before the Earth disaster and the imminent departure of Ariana.

This was a novella was a nice addition to the series. I liked that it gave us a glimpse into Ari and Zane's relationship when they both still lived on Earth, but didn't actually give away what Ari and Zane had done. (The big cliffhanger in Beyond Reach, when Ari suddenly remembers.) I felt like reading this made me truly realize how much Zane lost, when Ari didn't remember him, and as she appears to be choosing Cal right now.

I'll be really interested to see how Siobhan finishes the story in the

This was a short story looking into the past before the first novel, True Calling, where everyone is still on Earth and you get a background about the relationship with Zane and Ari. Honestly, this was the first time I actually felt the realness between Ari and ANYONE! With Cal it always seemed contrived because of the competition, even after reading his novella it just didn't feel real; but reading this story about Ari and Zane felt real.

The only negative thing I would have to say is that SOMET

This Novella had my emotions in overdrive. The ending of this novella left me feeling torn apart and in tears. I loved being back in this world but most of all I loved reading from Zane's point of view. The amount of love that Zane feels for Ari is so heart warming. What we saw from Zane was exactly what I expected but the real reason that we need this book as part of a series is because we get to see how A

Light Of A Thousand Stars is told from Zane's POV and takes place before True Calling. We get to read about Zane and Ari's time together and it's evident they love each other deeply and are made for each other.

However the move to Novo was imminent and Zane was to be separated from Ari.

I will start by saying I love the series so far and can't get enough so I was excited to have another mini-fix. This novella is from Zane's point of view and entirely based on earth before any move to Novo. It really helped me to understand why he loves Ariana so much, despite the fact she can't remember their relationship at all. What girl wouldn't give their right arm to have someone as devoted and wonderful as Zane??

As a book in its own right it is a great read and there is enough little teas

Just tear my heart out! My goodness this novella is a serious emotion tugger! I was confused by who I wanted Ari with and after reading Lovestruck I was leaning toward Cal but this novella gives you more from Zane and Ari's history that wasn't in the first two books. I really really enjoyed this book. I just love the character of Zane. The book just made me fall even harder in love with him. Its so sad thou since you know what happens once Ari has to leave Zane behind. Zane is one of those heroes that you fall so hard for in a book. I really hope if him and Ari don't get together that he finds someone wonderful, and he doesn't die or end up all alone.
