This story is about a young lady and her best friend escaping their pack. She was suppose to be the Alphas mate but she refused to be submissive and he beat her terribly. The last time he beat her he nearly killed her, so she escaped. Her and her best friend have been on the run for years always moving around and looking over their backs, staying on guard because they know the Alpha wants them back and he probably has people out looking for them.
Then one day she discovers that the Alphas b

Received an ARC version of In the Arms of an Enemy by Bethany Shaw for an honest review. I read as soon as I downloaded because I was afraid I would forget. Loved it. I only found 2 errors, 1 was spelling and the other seemed like it repeated unnecessarily, but it was not enough to turn me off. Really enjoyed. It was a fun way to find your mate vice chasing them to the point of no resistance.

This is the first book in a new series but is a standalone with a HEA!! Astrid is on the run from her ex who wants to force mate her or kill her if she refuses. She decides to live in Tuscany and only date humans so she won't ever be forced to be submissive. Kendrick is the brother of her ex and she views him as an enemy and wants nothing to do with him, but her wolf wants him, but she doesn't know that he is on the run also. When Killian finds her and tries to have her killed Kendrick steps in ...more

I received a copy of this short story by Bethany Shaw in return for an honest review. I liked the story line and the plot was great and will keep you reading. I found one error with spelling and one place where something happened that wasn't really explained, just left hanging, but overall I think this is a good read for a short story. I think the characters Astrid and Kendrick are really going to be interesting to see where they go from here. They both have their own issues with trust and I am ...more

Interesting short read from Bethany Shaw.
I love the story and the characters.
The characters, Astrid and Kendrick are good.
Astrid, she ran away from her pack to escape her ex-boyfriend, which is the alpha of her pack.
Her ex is an abusive man/wolf.
Kendrick, brother of Astrid's ex, is an interesting guy.
Being her ex's brother, Astrid did not trust him and she's a bit skittish around him (but there's an attraction between the two).
The story, when the two cross paths, the attr

Astrid is living in fear. She's hiding from her terribly abusive ex. She is totally floored when she discovers her new neighbor is her ex's brother. Should she run or should she stick around long enough to find out why he's there. A great romance can be found in the most unlikely of places, but will she be open to it? Kendrick has his own reasons to be here, but will she ever trust him enough to find out his secrets? Patience, healing, determination and trust are explored in this story, and if y ...more

This is the first book I've read by this author and i find her story a nice really quick read. I feel the majority of the story was spent on the head games the female character put herself through. Flight or fight is a very upfront emotion women stress over when they have been hurt so that part of the story was written well. I did enjoy the males laid back personality but need to help/protect which turns into a quicky love story. I look forward to the next book and hope for a few more sexy momen ...more

Astrid was hiding from her abusive alpha that wanted to mate her. She loved her new life until she ran into Kendrick the alphas brother. They are both hiding from the same crazy abusive person and have to move when they are found. This is an action packed romance that heats up when they both finally give into their feelings for each other. This is going to be a great series and I can't wait to read book 2

To trust or not to?
Astrid is an 80 year old wolf shifter who looks less than 30. She’s been living as a human since she escaped her Ex and pack Alpha Killian. But the human dates just are not cutting it. Then one day her Ex’s brother shows up and is her neighbor. She doesn't trust him and thinks he might bring his brother to find her, but her wolf like him. This has some interesting and exciting twists to this well written and enjoyable story.

A beautiful quick read. Astrid never thought she,d love the brother of th cruel alpha she was running from.
Little did she know the brother was also on the run. After saving her life she comes to believe he may not be the enemy after all.
They fall in love and live HEA.
I loved it perfect for a quick cold winter afternoon read. I loved it.

Another great story from Bethany Shaw, I have read a lot of this authors books and she never disappoints. This was a nice short story. Quick read but had me hooked from the start. I loved the characters and was happy they got their HEA. I'm anxious to read the next book in this series to see what she comes up with next. I was given an ARC for a fair and honest review.

Received this as a free arc in exchange for an honest review. It was a little to short for my taste. But it left you hanging at the end wanting more. And wondering what is going to happen to them and the pack they are on the run from. Can't wait to read more from this author and this series.

May get more as series progresses but not enough in this book for me.
Short read that leaves a lot out.
Plot is about two wolves, Astrid and Kendrick, who are both separately hiding in Tuscany from an abusive alpha that is also Kendrick’s brother.
They apparently own appartments next to each other.
Astrid spent a lot of time in her own head and even though she had that right it just felt like we were going too slow.
Then, when it got interesting and they had been found,

Wow! This is my first time reading Ms Shaw's work and I must say, I'm impressed. In the Arms of an Enemy is the first book in the Wayward Wolves Series but is a stand alone short story with NO cliffhanger. It may have been relatively short but it packs quite a punch. Shaw does a brilliant job of developing her story and her characters in such a short read. I would have loved to follow these characters into a longer story and deeper relationship and see a lot more dang

This is the first book in the Wayward Wolves series and it was athe times sweet, simple, scary and adventurous. Astrid had fled from her old pack due to the Alpha wanting to break the female Wolves spirits and turn them all into submissive sex toys and incubators. She was now living in Tuscany when the 2nd worst person she could think of showed up; Kendrick, the Alpha's brother. At 1st thinking she had been found , she almost ran, instead she chose to stand up to him and ignore him, until one ni ...more

What a great start of a series, no violence just hope of a future without it.

Astrid has been running and hiding from her sadistic intended alpha. She is looking and hopeful that she might find her mate in a human, only her dates don't do it for her emotionally.

Kendrick has always hated his brother's methods of running the pack and his treatment of Astrid and he has always had a thing for her secretly.

Now Kendrick shows up out of nowhere and Astrid is weary of

I love a good shifter book and Bethany delivers in this one!! Astrid didn't let the horrible things that happened slow her down.... Sure she was scared but she wasn't timid..... Kendrick helped her escape and then he escaped...... They find each other in the most unlikely of places after years on the run..... He wants her, she fights him.... Will they be able to get past her fears and come together?...... Time will only tell!!

The one and only thing I did not like, was that the ending

I am happily married to my husband of almost nine years and have two wonderful children.

I have always loved reading and writing and am thrilled to have published my first novel.

Paranormal romance is my go to genre and the genre I prefer to write in. I love the unique feel of creating an entirely different world and implementing it into the human verse.
