In His Corner is a debut novel by Vina Arno. I had this book sitting on my kindle for quite a long time, ever since it was first published because I can never resist a fighter romance and this story really surprised me in how easily I was drawn into the story. In His Corner, is a story that deals with some certain real life issues and I appreciated an author that handled this so very well. We have our heroine, who is a doctor that works in

Some women have this one problem, they always want to change a guy to suit this perfect boyfriend image she's always wanted. We, yes I'm woman, don't seem to understand that were are entering a relationship, not signing up for a project. I live with the philosophy of 'how you find a man is how you should leave him'. Double entendre.
Siena was so undecided, she gave me whiplash. Tommy was great being such an understanding boyfriend it was beautiful to read. He tells her what he doesn't like about

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review

This is the first book I have read by Vina Arno and it was very good. The book is priced great at 1.99 on Amazon, it is romantic and sexy and well worth reading.

Tommy aka Juggernaut is a fighter on the come up and after letting a previous relationship going bad right before he had to fight messes with his head, he refuses to let that happen again.

Siena is just getting out of a bad relationship and the last thing she needs is the

As a reader obsessed with sports-themed romances the premise of this story hooked me immediately. As the burgeoning relationship between Siena and Tommy unfolded though it was clear that it was going to be a rocky romance indeed. From misunderstandings to preconceived notions and prejudices, their time together was rife with frustrations amidst a few steamy interludes. It all added up to a story that showed great promise but left me conflicted once the final page was turned.

Siena is a girl who c

I really enjoyed this book. Siena and Tommy were complete opposites. Siena being 4 years older than the young Olympic boxer causes disruptions right from the start. Siena is used to her men being refined and proper but when she meets Tommy she realizes right away that this powerful force of nature of a man is anything but refined. He's a blue jean and hoodie type of guy who drinks from the milk carton and doesn't know a thing about aged

What a knock out of a book! From the first page until the last I was hooked. Dr. Siena Carr was a 26 year old well established ER doctor. She was born into wealth and was used to the finer way of life. From her designer clothes, fancy car, finer meals, upscale boyfriends, Ivy League college, and even her name sake (Siena, Italy), this Dr. was the image of a snob. She left the east coast for San Francisco in order to

I wasn't sure whether I was going to like this book, as I prefer contemporary to full on romance. But it really suprised me, and I found myself liking it a lot!

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. I am nothing but honest with my reviews so I am really glad that I enjoyed 'In His Corner'!

Most romantic books I have read involve the female protagonist being very emotional and feel as though they aren't good enough. Here it is the other way round which is refreshing.
This was a quick but steady paced booked with two POV's of the male and female protagonists.

Here we have Tommy, a rough and ready fighter, from the other side of the tracks,

Dr Siena Carr is used to the finer things in life. Growing up in a privileged background she is well-traveled and used to high-end clothes, cars and boyfriends. She left the East Coast to get away from her family’s expectations so she found herself surprised when she was called a snob. She just broke up with her boyfriend, a doctor at the same hospital where she worked in the Emergency department, and meeting Tommy Raines had all her tingly bits jumping in attention.

I loved this book, which surprised me. By about 3/4's into the book I had pretty much had enough of Siena. She didn't just come across as a snob, she came across as a whiny, spoiled, snobby bitch. It seemed weird that she was like that because the few times her family is mentioned they didn't come across that way at all. Plus her best friends and their boyfriends were not snobs either. She did mostly redeem herself though and I just adored Tommy. What a guy. I loved how he laid it out for her, I ...more

The theme behind this fast paced sexy tale is that opposites attract. That couldn’t be truer of rough-around-the-edges boxer, Tommy Raines, known as the Juggernaut, and Dr. Siena Carr, an emergency room physician. Siena is a woman of taste, who appreciates the finer things in life while Tommy, despite being a celebrity with a huge following, is a salt-of-the-earth kind of guy.

From the moment they meet their attraction to each other is combustible. But in order to grow closer, they’re forced to a

There’s an interesting mix of things going on in In His Corner. Siena is a little uptight and secure in her gilded life. She volunteers to help the less fortunate, works in an ER (but at an upscale hospital) and gives to charity, but she doesn’t really know how the other half lives. Then Tommy steps into her life … and gives it a good shake.

At the beginning, we see her fighting her attraction for him because of his more coarse nature – he’s nothing at all like she’s used to. Then once they are t

I had high expectations for this book as I thought our main man Tommy would be alpha, bossy, arrogant and instead we sort of got a mix of teddy bear, and alpha I don't really like that mix because it was more of teddy bear. I mean Tommy was a bada** in certain scenes and what I expected in those scenes but other times the boy let me down. I loved the condom scene and his reason for it, "first of all, three little packets of condoms do not make confetti. Second, I admit I wanted to make love to y ...more

This was an enjoyable book; Siena is an emergency room doctor and is used to patients coming through the ER with injuries. But when she walks into the room and sees Tommy, a very sexy boxer she can’t take her eyes off of him. Tommy has put his personal life on hold so he can focus on his boxing career, which is until he sees Siena. He is determined to show this prim and proper lady how do a real workout in the bedroom. This is sports romance featuring a boxer and an ER doctor. Tommy is "homeboy" down to earth and a man's man. He is a little rough around the edges but likable. He is on the cusp of becoming a pro boxer. Siena is from a wealthy family of lawyers and doctors. She has only dated Ivy League men. She is a snob. She kept trying to change Tommy. She was a little bit of a whiner. I enjoyed how Tommy kept pushing Siena out of here comfort zone. Overall, I did enjoy the stor

This book was good. I felt like I've been in both Tommy and Siena's place in the past. I could totally relate to that and that made it easier to read and enjoy.

I also enjoyed the realistic details of the boxing/training. I've been disappointed in the past by books that were sports related but very off base in terms of reality.

The book starts off with Tommy coming into the ER post fight with a wound to his eyebrow that requires stitching, Siena's friends are already hyped as they know the Juggernaut and cannot wait for Siena to treat him, funny part is Siena has no idea who this guy is and why fighting makes him such a huge celebrity, but she does not care and just wants to treat him and get him home. This is when the flirting and desires come in to play. The next couple chapters is Tommy trying to get Siena to

Quick and sweet read! The characters are well developed and the plot is interesting and captivating!

Siena is a young, intelligent and compassionate woman. She works as an ER doctor, spending most of her time working at the hospital and volunteering at a local clinic. After ending a long term relationship, she has to decide what she wants in life. Honestly, she was all over the board for me. She seems to be “stuck” in her life. Her long term relationship h

Stand back people! We have an alpha male boxer with feelings over here! Sensitive feelings!!

Based on the synopsis, and short length of this book, it was easy to make an assumption of where this book would go. Uptight doc meets sexy boxer, and they do some crazy naked sparring beneath the sheets. Boy was I wrong! Although the premise of having a sexual god of a boxer and a straight-laced chica fall in love is a relatively common romance novel plot, I was surprised at how this book also covered a

"In His Corner" is a short novel (139 pages) from author Vino Arno and I really enjoyed it. This is a steamier romance for those who are sensitive about that, but I wouldn't necessarily put it in a super-steamy category.

An Emergency Medicine doctor from an upper-class East Coast upbringing meets a boxer who grew up in a working-class neighborhood in San Francisco. Together, the sparks fly, but being from two different backgroun

Review for In His Corner by Vina Arno

In His Corner is a sports romance featuring a boxer as the Hero and an uptight ‘snobby’ doctor for the heroine. I’m just going to lay it out there, this novella for me reads like a it’s an outline for a novel. It’s got all of the key elements, but it lacks build up and follow through to make the scenes feel genuine.

Dr. Siena Carr is a snob. She is Ivy League down to her bones and enjoys expensive things. I like that she is very giving of her time and that sh

This was a bit shaky for me to get into. I liked the premise of a boxer and an ER doctor. I've never read a story about a boxer before, so you can say I was KO'd by Juggernaut. ;-) About half way through, is when it started to pick up for me. I was reading it much faster, and was more invested. I needed to know where it was all going: good or bad.

However, it took me a while to get there. At first, Juggernaut (Tommy) seems so self-absorbed. A part of me thinks he shouldn't be, but the other part
