They say our twenties is the time in our lives when we truly discover ourselves. The problem is, J. has been an awkward twenty-five year old for nearly a century and still hasn't figured it out yet. When his 100th birthday rolls around, J. realizes that he has put so much of his life into denying his true nature, that he has somehow forgotten to live it along the way. So, J. sets out with renewed determination to finally be a part of the world he has so desperately been clinging to. But, when an attempt to be the hero and save the girl goes horribly awry, the botched attempt to save Angie’s life turns his world upside down, plunging him, his friends, and the girl of his dreams into a world none of them knew existed--A dangerous world full of ancient secrets, temptation, and blood. Instead of answers, all they find are more questions. Will J. figure out what it all means and who he really is in time to be the hero?
Could he finally get his wish for a "normal" human life, or was the monster J. had worked so hard to bury, even closer to the surface than he ever thought possible?

J.W. Snootz has been writing since elementary school, never learning to print as a child, and having to learn cursive writing inspired me to write a lot as a youth. Writing my first novella at only 10, and staying in the 100 page realm for a long time, finally creating more elaborate stories was possible. Growing up all over the Midwest and traveling extensively you will always find some truth in all the stories I write. I feel the best stories should always include some parts of yourself, even if it is just in your characters or places they visit. Chicago has always been home, and the windy city certainly lends itself to the indoor activity of writing in the winter. In the warmer months you can find me with my family all of us out enjoying the beach along with the great experiences and culture the city offers. I love to write in a variety of different genres and enjoy reading a lot of different story types as well. I also love to hear from and interact with the fans and other authors so always feel free to say hi and share your thoughts. "My motto is, if you don't like the truth then don't make it the truth!
Vhamps is not your typical vampire story. It's more of a human story so it's a very unique vampire story. This story is about J and the relationships he has with his friends as well as his struggle to figure out who he really is. He is not your typical vampire that we read about in so many books now. He is not typical in looks or personality. He's like a young guy who is awkward and gawky around the girls, even though he's in his 20's and has been a vampire for a 100 years. He has not mastered the skill of finding the right girl until he meets Angie. Everything changes for him when he realizes his feelings for her after an incident in which he needed blood in order to survive. And with the help of his friend Franky, J begins a quest to find out who he really is and what happened to him. Because of his "nerdiness" he finds himself in predicaments that are dangerous and others that are funny and awkward for him, especially involving other women. But we see him beginning to change, from feeling the changes in his body to wanting a deeper connection with a non-vampire. This book is not erotica but JW Snootz knows how to write very hot sex scenes. This book has several that left me wanting more. This is Volume 1 so you know it ends with a cliff hanger, but it ends with you wanting to keep reading.
Vhamps is the third book I've read by J.W.Snootz, he captured my attention in Seeking Paradise and a fangirl was born. I loved his unique take on the "vampire" story adding fantastic twists that leave you hanging on the edge. While the book isn't Erotica, oh my, the sex is hot and steamy. I've come to expect hot scenes from him and like his other books, I have an added book boyfriend in J. I'm not usually a fan of cliffhangers, but the story is so satisfying that you're left yearning for the next installment, but don't feel like you only read a partial story. I loved it, excited for more.
I read the description of this book and knew I had to read it. This is very well written. The pace of the story is fast. The plot is great and has some unique twists which had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this ride and can not wait for more. The characters are very easy to relate to and very realistic. I love the reference to 2 of my favorite shows in this book.
I read this book because it engrossed me I had to find out what Vhamps was about...I fell in love,I will recommend this book to everyone,it's fun n hot and leaves u on the edge of ur seat loved it
In compliance with FTC guidelines, I'm disclosing I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. The Author has an interesting and enjoyable writing style. The story is written in the first person perspective of J as he goes through his daily routines. He's basically an ordinary guy, doing all the things a guy in his twenties might be doing. He has a healthy appreciation for women, lives with a roommate and works at a convenience store. But he isn't quite as ordinary as he'd like to be. He's a hundred year old Vhamp (the term he's coined himself for vampire human). The story is anything but ordinary. A chain of events threaten J's desire for a 'normal' life. There's a bit of mystery about everyone's relationships and intentions, which kept me in suspense. The pacing is excellent. There's plenty of action. It's not overly detailed. Enough details are given to fully picture the various scenes, settings and diverse characters. The steamy erotic scenes were very well done. ;) Some of the transitions between events were a little rough. I'd wonder what happened in a previous scene and there were times I felt frustrated by gaps in the explanations of character's actions. The author eventually doles out the missing details. The story left me wondering will happen next, but it had enough of an ending to leave me satisfied. I would recommend this book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series!
Vhamps is not your typical vampire story. It's more of a human story about J, who happens to be a vampire. So this is a very unique vampire story. This story is about J and the relationships he has with his friends as well as his struggle to figure out who he really is. Is he vampire or human or both? He is not your typical vampire that is so popular in books today. He is not typical in looks or personality. He's a young man, of course he's not really because he's a vampire but he lives as one. So he is gawky and awkward, especially with the women and one in particular. He has not mastered the skill of finding the right girl until he meets Angie. Everything changes for him when he realizes his feelings for her after an incident in which he needed blood in order to survive. With the help of his friend Franky, J begins a quest to find out who he really is and what happened to him. Because of his "nerdiness" he finds himself in predicaments that are dangerous (several times in the book) and others that are funny and awkward for him, especially involving other women. But we see him beginning to change, from feeling the changes in his body to wanting a deeper connection with a non-vampire. This book is not erotica but JW Snootz knows how to write very hot sex scenes, and this book had several that left me wanting more. Vhamps is a different type of Vampire story. J. is 100 years old and looks 25. He still needs blood but, it can come from transfusions or animals and he only needs small amounts. He has no fangs, he doesn’t leave marks. He seems to have no special powers. He can go out in the day time. He walks & has no car, no flying involved. He sees his reflection in a mirror. No I can’t tell you more! I don’t do spoilers so you will have to read more to know how these things can be from a Vampire…..
Vhamps is a very HOT book but, doesn't get HOT until about 1/2 through. But, HOT it gets!
Oh boy! Vhamps started off slowly for me but, finished with a bang! It ended in a way that I know there will be more to come and I can't wait to read more.
This book was NOT an ARC. But, I still love my job as a blogger because I get to read for fun! I give Vhamps 4.0 OOOO's (O's for Orgasms)
this book just blew my mind! all my preconceived notions about vampires just flew out the window! this is a must read!!! I fell totally in love with "J" and his struggles. I will try very hard to be patient (not a strong virtue of mine ) for volume 2
Holy smokes! Move over 50 Shades, there's a new hot in town. I warn you this book is a little graphic at times, but if you can handle the heat I highly recommend taking this ride!
A different type of vampire book. J has been a vampire for close to 100 years. He has a thing for his boss. When things happen will he find out how to be what he is. Such a great story.

I guess the big question with this book is, how human are you?
This isn't the typical vampire book we're all used to, it goes beyond that!
This is the story of J,a 100 year old vampire that is stuck being 25 years old, and is trying to find his way in life! He is nerdy and with the help of his roommate and other friends, he sets out to find out about how to be more like a human! He's unaware there are vhamps, as he likes to call himself, out there also. He thinks he's in love with Angie, a mother of two that he works with, but his awkwardness gets in the way of showing her how he feels also a love from his past before becoming a vhamp that he can't come to terms with and has to find a way to deal with it too.
This author has some very erotic books out that are amazing but this one isn't like the others yet there are a few very hot sex scenes in this book that will have your panties wet because we all know he had to throw a few in there!
Get this book and start J's journey with him and find out everything he's been discovering about who he really is. You won't be disappointed! It does end with a cliffhanger but that only makes you wanting the next one to be out already!
This is not in the typical sense of other vampire stories. I enjoyed this book. J is a down to earth character I can relate to. This is the first I've read by this author and I do like the way he writes and am looking forward to reading more of his books.
Unfortunately, this book looses a star in rating due to the errors. There were just too many for me to say they didn't impact. Other than that, this is a good read I managed to finish in one day.
I really enjoyed this book. It's not your typical vampire story and it has an interesting plot. I like that the characters are average, every day people. Can't wait to read Volume 2!
