This was our first book club book. I found it a really engaging and interesting read that made me think lots. I highlighted lots of passages.

May be slightly too young in terms of target audience but Poorna gives a voice to some very important topics throughout this book. I found this really engaging/reassuring for my own future.

I always want to be supportive of anything feminist or which guides people towards a more feminist life. For me, there was nothing new here. In fact, I felt a bit sad that for anyone this could be revelatory. I hope it finds its audience because it was intelligent and well researched; it just wasn't for me.

Listened on Spotify and loved that it was narrated by the author so you could experience the intonation that she intended. I’m in my mid thirties so slightly below the intended audience I think. Really important subjects but it was so aligned with my values that much of it I had heard before - more my problem than the book’s! Some great name drops of people to follow and it did make me want to move back to East London though..

Such an empowering book, reminded me of my own power and joy and not to let the world dictate it. Would highly recommend.

engaging at the start then tailored off at the end towards menopause, maybe aimed the generation before me but still insightful.

Not the target audience but I resonated with a large majority of the book.

Would happily re-read in years to come!

So many lessons to take away from this book and challenge your perceptions and expectations for every part of your life. It's incredibly motivating to question what the hell you want from life and that, as a woman, you deserve so much more. Yes Poorna!
