Too many lawyers spout jargon... I’m here to cut the bulls**t. Robert RinderHave you had a holiday from hell? Been left with a hole in your floor by a dodgy builder? Fed up with fighting over who gets the dog after your divorce? Don't worry, criminal barrister Rob Rinder, star of the ITV hit show Judge Rinder and columnist for the Sun, is here to help you take action. From common legal woes to problems you may have, this is a collection of real-life stories of things gone wrong, for which he provides sound legal advice. With sections on jargon-busting, consumer rights and common mistakes, Rinder’s Rules provides a thorough guide to everyday legal issues that you can carry with you anywhere. This book is both incredibly informative and unbearably funny.
Amusing and clearly written with lots of helpful examples, warnings, anecdotes, wisdom and blissfully free of jargon. Covers consumer rights, what to do when holiday companies go rogue, pets, neighbour disputes, troublesome tradespeople, custody matters, loans, wills, employment law and much more. The author masterfully presents the reader with all they should need to understand if they wish to make a claim in the small claims courts. If you are familiar with Robert Rinder's ITV courtroom cases, much of what is here will be familiar to you, such as the wise advice to put everything in writing. In this book, the weekly wisdom from his TV court is systematically set out in delightful prose. Inspires confidence that there are some very good solicitors out there, among the shysters and charlatans. A great read for all interested in legalities in England and Scotland.
What I like about the book is that it's not the typical dry and tedious common law book. The book is made of interesting real court cases. The fact that the book is written with Judge Rinder's sense of humour, makes it really funny. Some metaphors are just too entertaining! I didn't give the book 5 stars because it's been written 7 years ago and some law is not relevant any longer (especially after the UK left the EU).
Love Rinder some amusing parts in this but sticks to good sound advice about taking claims to court. Hopefully I will never have to take the advice though. I only bought it because I love a bit of Judge Rinder. Very witty good advice.
