Carlos is helping his friend, a quarterback who is playing in the Super Bowl. You can't tell me that all the issues with the girlfriend when unnoticed by the press. Also, McCrary barfs when he kills one person but then goes in blazing and takes down a few more without a blink. And the cops hardly blink an eye regarding his trail of dead bodies. I think the character is just too vague and not defined enough. Also, once the kidnapping was finished, it was time for the book to be over. I felt like ...more

This book was so long and I have to admit that the gambling and betting piece made my head swim. But I was determined to see it through but the professional football player was a total moron, I guess he took too many hits to the head.

You know it's pure fiction from the beginning - the home team is fiction the city is fiction the stadium is fiction...and the Jets are the Super Bowl favorite...but it's GOOD detective fiction

Action and more

This book has some football, gambling, mobsters, drug dealing, lots of action and Carlos McCrary. It's a page turner and well worth a read.

A very entertaining read with lots of action that seemed to never end. Some rather suspect dialog but good character development.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great suspenseful and thrilling mystery that, while geared towards men with the football theme, will keep everyone on the edge of their seats.

To be clear, I am not a football fan, and I very much enjoyed this book. I read it all in one sitting, completely unable to put it down until the plot was resolved.

Gorham's writing style is easy to follow and he doesn't bog the reader down with statistics or football-speak

Dallas Gorham is a sixth-generation Texan and a proud Texas Longhorn, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated in the top three-quarters of his class, maybe.

Dallas is also a reluctant Dallas Cowboy fan (Cowboy fans: You know how it is. But he has no choice… He’s named after them, sort of.) Like his fictional hero, Chuck McCrary, he now
