To say that the world building is not complex
or that the characters are not multi-dimensional
or that the conflicts can be defined quickly and easily

Is merely false.

Selah has put her time and energy into building a world where the characters themselves are being drawn above the ground into another war of devastation. And the uneasy alliances, and the search for calm only threaten to tear apart the basis for all that they believe.

This book is a worthy second. And an epic journey. Tolkien and B

An amazing story, with a rich and complex world, that will grip you from the first page. Think of your favorite epic fantasy...times ten! Selah has not just made up some characters and a story world...it's more like she has given birth to a vast and complicated living entity. A true master of epic fantasy.

I thought that Dream of a Vast Blue Cavern was a really good read. Then, I got distracted by other books, as I usually am. So when I finally got round to picking up this book (the sequel), I went back and re-read my review of the first book to kind of brush up my memory. I probably didn't need to. Tay-Song is a master fisher(wo)man who reels you in so effortlessly, that like a fish on a hook you just go with the flow!

The Icer Queen Stasia of Iskalon finds herself stranded alone in a strange, end

For so long, Iskalon and Chraun have only known their confined world of tunnels and caverns. The ebb and flow of war and peace formed their people and their nations. Then, a force much bigger than them, much bigger than their imaginations could ever conceive, rips them from their known world and deposits them into a vast, endless landscape. Scattered and dispirited, everyone is thrust into a fight for survival. And the war that ensues threatens to tear apart the core of what they believe. The ba ...more

I am a lover of fantasy and have read my fair share of books in that genre. I am overly impressed with Selah's writing! It grasps your attention from the moment you start reading and it hangs onto you until the very last word. It sucks you in and you feel like your actually in the story, she makes it feel as if there is no way the world she is describing is not real. Selah is an excellent writer and I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Selah J Tay-Song is living proof that if you persevere, you’ll catch your dreams. She decided to be an author at the age of six. Today she is the author of the Dreams of QaiMaj series, an epic fantasy series described as magical, poetic and engrossing. When she’s not writing, she’s stalking the urban river otters that live less than a mile from her home in the Pacific Northwest.
