Awesome adventures inspired by the best-selling Pokémon X and Y video games! All your favorite Pokémon game characters jump out of the screen into the pages of this action-packed manga!
X, Y and friends arrive in the nick of time just as journalist Alexa is attacked by her editor-in-chief and his Pangoro! Then, together with a new ally named Clemont, our friends come to the aid of an unhappy Electrike in search of a Mega Stone. Will Team Flare find the Mega Stone before the good guys...?
The mega evolutions really are so cool. X is in that pose pressing the stone in the bracelet and it's shining and the pokemon are all, "waaah, I'm mega now!"
The story is more under way now, and X is becoming a more palatable character. Parfum Palace is used in some fun ways.
There is still a bit too much focus on how totally super cool mega evolution is, to the point where Pokemon being called “Mega [insert name]” is treated as a revelation. The pacing is still really wonky, with plot points taking way longer to resolve than they feel like they should.
Regardless, it’s another fine-enough instalment of these mini volumes.
Book 4 of 12 in the Pokemon X and Y saga. In this book we learn that Team Flare is hunting down Mega Stones, the stones that enable compatible Pokemon to Mega Evolve. A member of Team Flare was out collecting the stones and was apprehended and even lost his list to the Vaniville kids.
X’s confidence in himself continues to grow and it’s so refreshing to see him battle with emotion. The supporting cast is still enjoyable to read. Team Flare is chaotic but it adds a lot of fun to the plot.
