This is the second installment in the Clara Andrews series and, in my opinion, a vast improvement on the first book!

Clara's relationship with Oliver Morgan has progressed and, a year after the events in the first book, they are on their way to their first couple's holiday and for Clara to meet her American in-laws.

This book was fast-paced and easy to read and exactly what I had envisioned from the romantic and chick-lit tags. Whilst predictable and cheesy, it was the perfect passive beach read. Unfortunately, this isn't exactly my thing, hence the low ratings, and I found it too frivolous for my liking. The characters' focused too much on outward appearances and this was littered with endless descriptions of outfit and make-up choices. However, if you are into romantic escapades in far flung places, girl drama and excessive cocktail consumption, then this is the book is for you.

Clara Meets the Parents is the second book in the hilarious Clara Andrews series! If I were to compare this series to another it would definitely be the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. It just has those vibes, you know? Anyway, I liked this book a lot better then I liked the first. Perhaps it's because Clara finally shows some growth. Or it could be because the books are finally growing on me. Either way, I really enjoyed reading this one and did so in one sitting. I found it to be laugh out loud funny and extremely relatable. This is especially true when it comes to meeting your significant others parents!

If you are a chick lit lover and haven't read this series yet then I very much recommend it. If you find the first book to be a little slow I urge you to continue the series anyway. It seems to be getting better and better with each book and I am excited to dive into the next one. I actually borrowed it from kindle unlimited right away and will be reading it next!

Absolutely loved this book. Had me laughing throughout. It's the second in the series and just like the first, was unable to put it down. I actually enjoyed it more and will certainly be reading the whole series!

Equally as bad as the first book. How this is a series of 15 books is beyond me. Still planning to read the 3rd (since it’s short and free) just to meet my Goodreads goal for the year, lol!

this book made me fall in-love with Mexico! The summer feel that relaxes your mind and body is what i basically need right now. Plus, the book-ending proposal of Oliver made me thought, at first, that he was really cheating this time. Oh, i love this series so much! On to the next book <3

I was hoping this would be a nice change from all the Regency crap, but it actually made me yearn for one... Something with an actual POV and better writing instead of an endless ditzy, rambling monologue. I'm sure Clara is a perfectly nice girl. She's just too young and self-absorbed, perhaps. Was this labeled YA? Maybe it should've been. I bet 12-year-olds would like it. Ew. And use it as a template for future alcoholic misadventures. Maybe not so YA after all. This is a book that isn't sure of its audience.

It's fun if predictable.

One small gripe though. Who realistically contemplates moving overseas and repeatedly debates whether they could leave their friends but literally NEVER mentions their own family?? In fact there is precious little mention of Clara's parents at all. Has Oliver even met them?! Is there some deep dark secret? I realise this instalment is about Oliver's parents, but still. Two sentences would have addressed it!

Really enjoyed it

This is the first book in this series that I have read and I really enjoyed it!
I thought all the vomiting was hilarious and the relationship between Clara and Janie was so true to life. I will not spoil it for readers but would suggest that you read this book if you want to have a proper belly laugh.

Fun and romantic

Loved the funny antics and romance. Love stories are the best. Janie was outrageous for sure. Never boring with a psychotic woman blitzes into the mix. Four stars due to numerous grammar and punctuation issues. None of the errors took away from the lovely fun novel.

Another fun easy read in the Clara series. A bit farcical in places and some of the things Clara does are a bit cliched and cringy, but it’s what I expect from this style of book so I can deal with that. Again, the drinking was excessive but I think this theme will run throughout the series. It’s the kind of book you can just read without having to think and it’s feel good chick lit.

Enjoyed the storyline. Made me laugh. The writing errors were numerous. Who can’t remember from a paragraph ago, who was there are who wasn’t? I’ll keep reading because they are fun, east beach reads.

Good, enjoyable light reading.
Clara and friends have a unique sense of humor, marked by too much drinking. A good read.

Cliche

Standard issue cliche happily ever after story. If you’re into that, you’ll enjoy this book. Easy to read, doesn’t take long to get through.

First book was ok so thought I’d read the next one. What a waste of time. Rubbish story line, very childish. Didn’t like any of the characters but that’s probably a lot to do with them being flat and the book being badly written. Won’t be bothering with the rest of the books
