I love the story, bringing Hades and the other gods back in the current world - modern and reading them dealing with it was funny. I was also happy with the outcome in Skylar's life, her parents doing well as well as her fiancé. Can't wait to read the solution for the problem in the next final book in this series!

This was an excellent book in the series and I am rating it 5 strong Stars. This is book 3 in the Descendant Prophecies Series. Mary never fails to deliver a wonderful story and this book is no exception. It is full of plenty of action, drama, good, evil, chaos, and love. I will definitely be looking forward to the next book in the series and diving in immediately.
The Descendants, along with Skyler and Mason must face the evil that is Hades in the underworld. He plans on killing off all the Descendants so he can hopefully be freed. However, they all soon learn things are not as they seem. The Gods they all thought were dead are far from it. They are imprisoned by the evil that is Hephaestus. Upon learning many secrets the Descendants must act quickly or the whole world may fall.
Follow the Grand Brothers along with Skyler and many other descendants on the amazing journey in chaos we have to endure. In this book Skyler come to terms with her feelings for Mason. She learns where her place is in this amazing world of fantasy she didn't even realize existed. Along with the many secrets they all learn, now we hopefully get to learn some from the Gods themselves.
Thank you to Mary Ting for her amazing story telling. This has quickly become one of my favorite series involving the mythological God and Goddess’. I will be a fan for life. Now it is time to dive into the next book! Happy Reading!

This series has managed to stay interesting and solve issues, but then introduce new ones to keep you going.

This time around the gang has to kill Hades and take his lodestone for Hephaestus to free Sky's mom and dad. But this would be a very bad thing for the world. Sky, Mason and gang set out to do the best they can as usual and the plot keeps twisting. Other than Sky and Mason talking about "love shocks" all the time their romance is sweet and I like the rest of the characters, although some don't get much time in this story.

I'll definitely read the next one.

11 Electrifying Stars but 5 on here.

I was given this book for my honest review.

We have all heard the saying “from our mouth to gods ears” at some point in our lives. If we take a closer look within the saying we can determine that with each word that we speak or even think that we can define that our words even though thinking that they go unheard is the untruth. For some force in this universe or even some far off land can hear the words that we speak or even don’t speak. It is in our nature to believe in the unknown to believe that there is a greater force somewhere out in the darkest depths of the world that our words in great or even less are heard by someone or some force greater than we know if we all have the strength within ourselves to believe.

This is the 3rd book in the Descendants Prophecies Series and needs to be read in order

Mason and Skylar (Echo) are back in full force with their continuing journey of finding love within the pages. Finding the keys to keeping the world safe but, also keeping the demons locked within the great beyond.

As their journey continues we call upon the last few pages of From Deities we see that turmoil has struck once again and this couple along with their friends must decide what decisions are right and keep upon the path that is decided. As one path leads to another that none are prepared for the split second decisions that Skylar must endure will have to be spot on to save both worlds or let them perish. As one decision comes into play with Hades she must come to one major decision that affects all that are within. Will Skylar make the correct decision to save both worlds? Will she be able to see the unforeseeable and will the decisions and the paths that she partakes be right for all? This is her journey.

As one particular path that Skylar partakes upon they say two heads are always better than one. One head will lead the way as the other will just be part of a dream that partakes upon a certainty that has the gods in an uproar to letting the demons out within. However will this ultimate sacrifice be the fulfillment that is needed or will this particular god find it in his true nature to see the unforeseen?

As the end comes near we can see that there will never be a total completeness to the paths that Skylar and Mason along with their friends take. As parents partake in the journey with Skylar and her friends in trying to save both worlds they say that a fathers love is the greatest of all gifts that one can have. Love from a parent is unconditional but at the same time gives the love and the strength from within themselves to give us a sense of supernatural ability to carry on with strength that we knowingly do not have within ourselves this is their gift to us.

As Mason and Skylar find the path to true happiness within themselves they are also finding that the love that they carry for one another is greatly stronger together but as equally strong apart. When separation occurs this couple must call upon the strength within each to finding their way back to one another at the same time protecting and destroying vultures within the two worlds to finally finding completeness within.

This journey is not over by far when another threat comes from within the walls. Fathers always protect their children and so it is said as with Gods that they also have a sense of love for their children. Destroying and protecting is a fathers way and will not be overshadowed even if they are not from our world.

To the author: You have created once again and amazing journey within the pages of this amazing read. You have taken another world and brought forth not just imaginary characters but a realness of them that they can walk in our everyday lives and we do not see them nor do we feel them but we do feel a sense of calmness that our world is protected by those of the greatest abilities. Imagination is a powerful sense and you have created a WOW AND AWE factor within your pages. You have created twists and turns at every page that brings out the best and the worst of the Gods but also brought forth great imagery. Major Kudos

To the readers: Sit back and get the tissues handy for this journey will have you in major cry factor and screaming factors. You will not be disappointed.

Happy Reading

Finding myself once again lost in this world of mythical beings and unseen danger feels like a dream come true. I can’t say how much I loved being back with Skylar, Mason, and the rest of the descendants! Nothing could have prepared me for the depth of mystery and the strength of newly made bonds throughout this amazing journey. From Origins not only took my breath away but it stole my heart with its beautifully enchanting and irresistibly captivating twist to my beloved Greek mythology.

As I watched Skylar begin to emerge from her cocoon of transformation, I was in complete awe to see her begin to take hold of who she was born to be. She refused to allow her fear to control her. Instead, she pushed forward with the help and encouragement of Mason who never left her side. She drew strength and hope from their strong, unbreakable love. Mason’s unfailing devotion helped to free Skylar from the nagging doubt she had and gave her the will and the courage to spread her marvelous wings and learn to fly. Throughout this harrowing adventure, Mason learned what it means to truly and completely love someone with no boundaries and no fear. He knows the struggles that Skylar will have to face, and he will do whatever it takes to help her and keep her safe. Will their love prove to be the motivation that Skylar needs to take hold of her destiny, or will the unknown forces working against them bring their plans and their lives to a quick end?

In all honesty, I can’t get enough of this brilliantly written and deeply touching story that has made a home forever in my heart. The Greek mythology elements only sweetened the deal for me, but it was the outstanding characters that kept me glued to the pages. They are so very diverse and yet they complement each other perfectly. Skylar has put forth an immense amount of blood, sweat, and tears in order to fulfill the purpose for which she was born. Nothing about her path is easy, but with friends like Nick and Amanda, her amazing boyfriend Mason, and her tight knit family, she finds that she can accomplish anything that is given to her. She has more strength and power inside her then she ever dreamed possible.

I will forever be a huge fan of Mary Ting with her endless creativity and boundless heart. The encouragement and hope that flows from these pages is intense and spell-binding. Words are power and their use is crucial and should be guarded and used with care at all times. Her stories reach into your soul and bring forth a light that you never knew was there. Whatever you do, do not miss out on this truly remarkable and incredibly powerful story of overcoming fear and doubt and taking hold of an unknown yet beautiful future.

* * * * * 5 Star Review.

Once again Mary Ting has delivered another incredible book.

Sky is trying to get her mind wrapped that Steve the man her mom has been dating is none other than Hephaestus, the man that has made her life miserable since birth. Not only does she has a huge task in hand she must also remember she has a lot of people depending on her. For Sky the only person that matters to her is Mason, the love of her life.

In order to save her parents and everyone else the gang must travel to hell and back if she wants to achieved her goal. But like always nothing is simple for this demigods.

What other obstacle will Sky, Mason and the rest of the descendants will face in order to freed everyone at the end of their journey?

This is by far the best book. Is full of action, love, sacrifices and loyalty. If you thought the other two books were good, you haven't read nothing yet until you read From Origin.

I can guarantee you, you will be left with your mouth open. I recommend for you to read The Descendant Prophecies Series you will not be disappointed.

From Origins (Book 3):

I enjoy how these books pick up from the one before. And how strong Skylar is trying to be against the odds. I really enjoyed feeling like I was going through the trials that Skylar and her friends were going through to get to Hades. Persephone is really sweet. love the twist with Jack and Mona and who the really are!  The chemistry between Skylar and Mason is just perfect and I loved when he proposed to her. It seemed more special for the two of them.  Oh my gosh... Skylars mom! That's all I'm gonna say! I really enjoyed that all the gods and descendants fought and worked together. Oh I can't wait to dive into the last book!

From Origins isn't as good as the first 2 books. This one has a lot more adventure, which is fun, but I thought there was just way too much going on and such a fast and quick read. I feel like this could have wrapped up the series nicely but at this point the author wants to keep stretching the series and I'm already over it after this book. Will I still read the next one? Yes, but begrudgingly haha.

I really enjoyed the third book by Mary ting. I can't wait to read the next book about Mason and Skylar and the descendants. I can't believe that they manage to fool Hephaestus and got what he deserved, by death. can't believe what happened to mason at the end and poor Skylar, hope she can save him with gods help.

For those of you who haven't read this series yet, don't worry I'll leave this as a spoiler free review!

Mary Ting has done it again, she's written yet another amazing book in the Descendant Prophecies series! From Origins was just as enthralling for me as the first and second book in this series!

What I liked most about this book was the romance. In the first and second installment there was a budding romance between Skylar and Mason, with some seriously swoon-worthy moments! This is the third book in the series and let me just say the romance was sizzling! (But very clean!) Oh and lots of kissing! Skylar and Mason are now one of my all-time-favorite fictional couples!

description

This series has some of the best villains written into the storyline! Some I loved and some I loved to hate! One of which was Hephaestus. I can see why Mary decided to name a villain with this name, I kept calling him Hepatitis. Of course after looking up the pronunciation (he-FEE-stus) I still reverted back to Hepatitis a few times. ;)

description

Now what would a few good villains be without a FEW (yes more than one!) completely un-guessable plot twist? I thought I had everything figured out, ONCE AGAIN then out of nowhere something happens that you will NEVER guess!

description

Okay, so far we have sexy romance, wonderfully written villains and more than one unexpected plot twist. What if I told you there's a HUGE cliffhanger?

Ahh I loved this one! Pretty much all of my favorite elements rolled into one amazing story.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the series...

From Origins picks up pretty quickly after the previous book leaves off. We are thrown back into Skylar and Mason's lives. Which have not got any easier since we last saw them. Some huge situation needs to be made and they are about to embark on a journey to the Underworld. This journey will test them. They will not leave the same people. Skaylar can't do it without Mason. They are one in the same and need each other. They gather strength from each other and together they can do great things. We get even more mythology in this one too. Oh, I love Greek mythology and what's better is meeting Hades! Things are about to get intense. Skylar is going to have to choose which path to take. Will she be able to handle her choice?

Mason and Skylar are perfect. The writing that depicts their relationship is stunning. They are the perfect couple. Skylar has tried so hard to embrace her life and become what she needs to. Without the help of Mason and their family I don't think she could have accomplished what she has. She has transformed into a very powerful female character and I love that. Will everything she has be enough to help her meet her destiny head on or will the other forces at work keep her from it?

The secondary characters are still amazing. They have been a very strong support system for Skylar. She has been through a lot in a very short amount of time. Not the kind of thing your average young adult has to deal with. It's not like graduation or going to college, its way harder. Without them she would be lost.

I love this series and Mary Ting has done an amazing job weaving Greek mythology into From Origins! I love Greek mythology and when it is done like this it only strengthens my love for it! Bring on book 4!!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book. I liked that it was written from Skylar and Mason point of view. Skylar comes into her full powers and uses them to first free Hades and then his brothers Zeus and Poseidon and they all work together to help stop Hephaestus from taking over the world. The gods totally cracked me up when they were discovering new things especially Hades. Skylar finds out that her mother Gina is actually Rhea the Titan of Fertility and the mother of Hades, Zeus and Poseidon so the gods are technically Skylar’s half brother so no wonder Hephaestus aka Steven put his plan in motion from when Skylar was a baby and got an infection and he tested her blood and found out that she wasn’t fully human. He then experimented on Victor, Skylar’s father by giving him Vulture blood to try and turn him into a Vulture but then Victor had tried to k*ll Skylar so Gina Skylar’s mother kicked him out giving Steven a way to get close to Gina now that Victor was gone. I still loved the connection between Skylar and Mason and I’m really looking forward to Skylar, Nick, Amanda, Everett along with the other descendants and Zeus, Poseidon and Hades find a way to get Mason back from Eris the Goddess of Chaos and find out what her plans are that she has set in motion. I’d recommend this book, series and author.

I was hired to proofread this book. At this point, the author is probably aware that a review would happen, but it was not part of our agreement. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.

For some reason, I had it in my head that this was the last book in the series (it's not), so the ending came as quite a surprise to me. Like the other books in this series, the ending leaves room for more to happen (which makes sense because it's a series.) You should read the series in order though, although it's not absolutely necessary for each story to make sense.

While reading, I felt a little bit like things were happening too easily for Skylar. There was conflict, but it didn't involve much real suspense in my opinion. It's possible that is simply because I have read so much of Ms. Ting's work recently that I'm pretty familiar with her style, but this book failed to pull me to the edge of my seat like the previous books did.

Overall I give From Origins 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Such a great read to start my 2016. Humor, romance, lots of fighting scenes, and a tinge of mystery are the kind of main ingredients that make my reading so enjoyable. This book has met my preference and expectations. It includes great moral lesson, too. That is, humans are not the only ones who make mistakes, but the Gods are worst since they succumb to excessive greed and hubris due to the great powers they possess--which are the main reasons of their downfall. They have forgotten how to be compassion without expecting something in return. War has begun between the Greek Gods. Skylar, the Oracles, and the rest of the demigods are in the mission to defeat Hephaestus and free up the Gods who have been imprisoned in Mt. Olympus. I have a feeling that the calmness after the great battle is too good to be true. I have been right. Good will not prevail without evil to balance it out. The cliffhanger ends with the rise of Cronus. I am speculating that the rest of the Titans have risen as well since Tartarus is unguarded at this moment. I cannot wait for the next installment.

Oh my Hades this the hottest Descendant Prophecies yet!
LOVE love LOVE everything about this story! Mary Ting is repeatedly outdoing herself! I've been looking forward to this release since last October when I devoured book 2, From Deities. Oh it was soooo worth the wait! All of the characters I've missed came back with a bang! A few new ones popped in to visit as well adding even more adventure, drama, & suspense. While I eagerly awaited Mason & Sky's light show I could practically feel Mason's love shocks shooting through me! But...the best part was the unexpected twist that I hope means we will be getting much more of our beloved descendants & Gods very soon! Can. Not. Wait.

the first book was amazing, second alright and the third, just plain boring. to begin with the relationship between Sky and Mason is cute and how much they care about each other is sweet but now in the third book it's a bit much. Mason won't let Sky do anything, he doesn't want her to get hurt and it's really intense like come on she's the most powerful desendent ever. he undermines her and is always swaddling her. it's annoying. the way he loves her so fiercely is un natural and sends her freaky love shocks. it's cheesy and kinda bleurgh. the book plot itself is boring and lacks any of the spark from the previous books. I was reading it in a monotone voice and every little thing they did was over done. didn't get very far into the book, very dissapointed.

So excited for this book and I was to be...an amazing and mythical journey where Sky, Mason and the rest of the descendants have to fight not only for the one they love but for the world as they know it.
There are new characters in this book and I have to say I love them all.
There were laughters and smiles, tears and a sense of desperation..everything you might want and more in this epic saga.
Can't say enough times to get these books and read them..friendship and love, right and wrong, compassion vs greed and power, mystery and discoveries... so many twists and turns!!!!
With that ending...can't wait for more!!!!

This 3rd book in the series wrapped things up nicely (but I could still see possibilities for future books in this series). If you look at all 3 books together (From Gods, From Deities, and From Origins) this is a great series - action packed, some mystery, good character development, some romance ...

OMG! No freaking way! You can't do this to me Ms. Ting! I need to calm down. When I was towards the end, I didn't really want it to end but was happy that it's going to end. Well guess what? It didn't end! I wanted to scream because how can you end it with such a cliffy? My heart can't take it. You gave me happiness and then ripe it a part within a second.
