I'm an advanced beginner or intermediate player, I think. We play once per week, and I've played a few hundred hands on my phone. I know a lot of the basics of bidding and how to score games.

I took a few ideas of worth out of this book, but it quickly got complicated, with my eyes starting to glaze over. I couldn't focus on it well enough to retain much of what I was reading. Read about half of it.

Author consistently misused used less/fewer, which I found distracting. (He would write, "if you have LESS than 13 points" when he should have been writing "if you have FEWER than 13 points".)

I haven't looked into other instructional bridge books. I would guess that there are others that are better than this one (and probably a few that are worse).

Easy to read and understand Bridge Guide. Lots of helpful hints and tips, and I enjoyed the writing style.

This book brings together much of what I had picked up in a fragmented fashion. The pieces are making more sense when explained in truly a simple step by step process. I'm enjoying the book, and it is actually easy reading.
