I read this book in one day while on retreat. It was perfect - on the heels of my Africa trip. Father shares his bravery and loyalty to his church and people. I’m so glad that he made it out safely..

Father Victor Mosele wrote like the missionary that he was, not like a novelist. I trusted his story more this way. It's a factual and often gripping account of his capture and escape. While hardly impressed with the tactics of the rebels, he never lost his love for the Sierra Leoneans he came to serve. Expanded my knowledge of Africa and Catholicism. 4 1/2 stars.
