This book opens up and describes worship in the methodist church. It describes the components of worship, how those component have come down through history, and why they make up the order of worship. This book is written specifically for someone teaching a course in worship and is closely tied to Worshiping with United Methodists by Hoyt Hickman, but it is a good overview for anyone to read.
