No Surrender... Sin is a man who lives by his own rules. Large and in charge, he takes what he wants and makes no apologies about it. Running his custom bike shop and raising his son are the only things he's ever cared about. That is, until a full-bodied goddess crosses his path. No Regrets... Georgia’s the forbidden fruit custom built for temptation. He knew she was off limits, for more than one reason, but there’s only so long he can fight his desires. When he ignores the rules and claims her, what price will he pay for that one taste of perfection?
Sassie Lewis is a hybrid author who penned her first novel in 2014. She writes wickedly naughty romance full of hot alpha males she’d slap if she ever met, and sassy speak-their-mind women who she’d love to be friends with. With a somewhat skewed and unique view of the world, she is the queen of the intensely personal overshare. She hopes to drag you into the world she creates and leave you breathless and wanting. When Sassie really wants to get down and dirty, she writes erotica under the name Vixen.
Sin and Georgia. This one of those books you feel guitly for enjoying so much... or not ; ) It's OTT and kinda silly but satisfying for a quick read. Sin first meets Georgia when she graduates at the same time as his son. So Georgia is only a few years older than his son, whom he had a very young age. (The mother left early on). So Sin figures they are dating and she is 'hands off' but he can't stop obsessing over her and it turns out they have a lot in common. There's stuff about his son that he doesn't know and it isn't her place to tell him. When it all comes out, he goes way overboard and it was kinda silly. But I still enjoyed it. For those worried about OW, it was pretty safe imho Some lovely grovelling. Throughout the book Sin talks about 'the neanderthal' inside him the same way shifters talk about their wolf in paranormal books. It's the neanderthal inside that keeps him honest.
This was pretty good. The H was super Alpha/Possessive and well...man. The h was sweet, lonely (no real fam) and poor. However she was also smart, sweet and totally perfect for the h. I love the older man/younger woman thing, so I got this. I also loved how much the H loved the h. It was short (for me), sweet and to the point. It had some great funny moments, sexy moments and was again, overall a good read. I felt like it was a good pace, no real lagging moments. Totally recommend to anyone that loves a good alpha.
Wow did this Aussie writer not disappoint! The story was fast paced and for this writer to tackle not only first person, but in the POV of her male hero Sin? Amazing! Character development was spot on and I for one can not wait to read more of this type of genre from this writer. She is destined to be one of the greats!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and hear me when I tell you, this is a hot, sexy debut novella by Sassie Lewis.
Sassie's hard ass, quirky personality really shines through in her writing bringing you right alongside the characters, rooting for their happy ever after all the way.
The chemistry is intense, the sex is freaking hot and the story is beautiful - all made a little hotter with forbidden desire and dirty little secrets that could bring everything crashing down around them.
Throttle is a must read for lovers of alpha males who fall weak in the knees at the hands of strong willed women! This story had me smiling often, laughing out loud, and shedding a tear or two - the emotion was real.
A brilliant, entertaining and highly recommended read by this debut author. I will definitely be reading more books by Sassie Lewis.
self-published 103 pages, approximately Romance: Erotica
-- SYNOPSIS -- No Surrender... Sin is a man who lives by his own rules. Large and in charge, he takes what he wants and makes no apologies about it. Running his custom bike shop and raising his son are the only things he's ever cared about. That is, until a full-bodied goddess crosses his path. No Regrets... -- MY THOUGHTS -- ~ ~ ~ * DEBUT AUTHOR ~*~ DEBUT NOVELLA * ~ ~ ~ Novella: about 100 pages. A RARE first-person (MALE) POV. The cover is mildly misleading, allows you to believe this may be a MC book. Not really. He's a gear head... owns THROTTLE (garage/shop) and builds, rebuilds, customizes, and fixes bikes. He's got an "in" with the bikers, but it's NOT a MC book. Synopsis: Again, a little misleading. You'd think his son is a young child as opposed to a college graduate. Cynfor (Sin) was a little hellion growing up; always in trouble and pushing the limits. That is, until a newborn is dropped at his parents' doorstep when he's only 17 years old. From then, his son, Tyson, had been his sole focus. Now, as a 38-yr old single dad, he finds his son's college graduate status delivers mixed emotions. He's hot for the girl on Ty's arm. Georgia lives a pretty solitary existence with no parents or siblings and only an elderly unwell foster mother. She works numerous jobs to make ends meet and wears baggy second-hand clothes that Sin manages to easily see past which is good because she's seriously attracted to Sin, despite the fact that he's Ty's dad and 14 yrs her senior. The characters were well created and enjoyable. Dialogue was good, interaction felt natural. The plot flowed well, but was not as full and dynamic as it could have been if it were a full novel length. There's plenty of sex, mostly Neanderthal worthy. Ms. Lewis is rather descriptive and often remarks on the audible elements of the deed, other than that, it was not overly graphic nor clinical. There were a few issues that were resolved in very human fashion. The characters were allowed to make mistakes, learn from them, and try to earn a second chance. I had Tyson figured out almost immediately, but that did not - in any way - detract from the story. The conclusion was solid, with no cliffhangers. There's just enough going on at the end of this story that if there were another novel(la) written to follow this one, I'd not be surprised. Only one spelling error noted, but it was easily over-looked. Overall, it was an enjoyable, quick read.
-- ABOUT the AUTHOR -- Sassie Lewis is a born and bred Australian. She lives on the outskirts of Brisbane Queensland, with her husband, two daughters, one son and a dog that hates having a bath. She swears like a sailor, and blames her ability to over share personal matters - matters that fall into that TMI category - on a faulty brain to mouth filter, that forgets to tell her “This isn’t appropriate dinner conversation”. An avid reader since childhood. Sassie came across erotic romance in her mid-twenties, falling deeply, madly in lust with the genre instantly. And has had wet panties ever since. With her somewhat skewed and unique view of the world, along with a little encouragement from her father, she thought what the heck! and she penned her first erotic romance. She hopes to drag you into the world she’s created, and leave you as breathless and wanting, for her fictional friends, as she became, while writing them.
This book had me salivating from the moment I started reading. We meet Cynfor (although he calls himself Sin). He is proudly watching his only son, Tyson, graduate. Sin is a hard man, who doesn't love easily, but the type of man that would do (and has done) anything for his family. He passionately loves 2 things in his life - his family and his business. He owns Throttle, a succesful car and bike workshop. It has kept his life full and busy - until now.
At graduation, Tyson introduces his family to Georgia, a buxom young lady who instantly has Sin paying way too much attention. She is the sweetest fruit, forbidden, but Sin cannot help the instant attraction he feels towards her. He tries to fight what he feels for, but the first time the two are alone together sparks fly.
Sin walks away from Georgia and threatens her to stay away from his son. However, he soon discovers that Georgia and Tyson are in fact not together. The two start up a relationship which is full of heat and passion. Sin is so alpha and likes his own way - especially in the bedroom. Georgia, although a strong and independent woman succumbs to his will - and what happens will leave you hot and bothered! WOW!
Sin finds out that Georgia and Tyson have been keeping a secret from him - a whopper of a secret. He is devastated that the two people he cares about most in the world could have lied to him.
Will love be able to conquer all? Will the truth finally set Tyson and Georgia free?
I FLOVED this book. Sassie Lewis is a new author, and this is one of her first books. I was enthralled from the get go.
Sin was made of all my dreams - he was a little bit rough around the edges. He was all alpha, covered in tattoos and had a filthy mouth. He was passionate from the outset, and he made sure in no uncertain terms that Georgia knew he was in charge. I know that may make me seem a little backwards in my thinking, but every girl wants a man to take charge (even if it is only every now and then).
Georgia was a refreshing change of a character. She was on the voluptuous side, and although she thought of this as a negative (as all of us BBW's do), Sin quickly showed her how beautiful she really was. Georgia had also overcome insurmountable odds - and was a born fighter. She is someone that protects her friends with every fibre of her being, but also someone that loves intensely. I love that although she had come from a fairly hard life, she was still soft, kind and good.
I am giving this book 4.5 stars. It had everything I loved - a dirty talking bad boy, who was oooooh so good. A lot of steamy, hot and smoking hot sex. A beautiful story line that kept me riveted from the onset. My only request is that we get to see more of Sin and Georgia - I loved the epilogue, but wish it would have been a little bit more in the future.
Well done Sassie Lewis. I look forward to what you have to say next.
Sin has lived his life the same way for the last 21 years...for his son. His son was left on his doorstep when Sin was 17. So from then on, Tyson became priority number one. Sin lived with his parents until Tyson was 10 when he made their life their own. He focused on Tyson and his automotive business, Throttle. One thing that was a constant in Sin’s life was the many women that came and went. But no matter what, he always provided a good life for the two of them. He never thought about a serious relationship because no one was worthy enough of Tyson's love.
Georgia has no one to lean on or help support her except her ailing foster mother, who is in a nursing home battling dementia. She just graduated college and is working three jobs just to get by. She is proud of her accomplishments but there is something missing. That is until she meets Sin.
Sin feels horrible that he is attracted to his son's girl, not knowing that they are just friends. Tyson though, has a secret that he has been keeping from his father because he is afraid of how he will react. Georgia knows what Tyson is keeping from Sin but also knows that it isn't her place to give that information out.
Sin and Georgia begin a very quick yet powerful whirlwind romance. Sin never realized what his life was missing until he met Georgia. When Tyson's secret comes out, Sin is hurt by both Tyson and Georgia for keeping it from him. Can Sin get passed his hurt feelings once he has a heart to heart with his beloved son? And can Georgia forgive Sin for his hasty words and actions?
This was a great debut by Sassie Lewis. I loved that I was able to become so invested in the characters and their lives in such a short time. You really wanted Sin to finally get his happy ending in life since he had spent so much time focusing on his son and his business. You also really wanted Georgia to finally have that family she has missed out on her whole life. I have to say, I wish the book was a bit longer so we would have been able to delve deeper into all of their lives.
Oh Sin you are so cute but blind about the important things in your life. Sin a free spirit and a single Dad has to come to terms with reality quicker than he would like when he meets his son's girlfriend. Gia has had a rough start in life but earned respect with her tenacity and brains. When she's introduced to Tyson's family; a fellow student she recently met, her life changes and problems erupt. The story gets interesting from this point on and I chuckled periodically as two opposites find attraction. The club owner was a good addition to this contrary bunch of characters and as secrets are revealed I was immersed in the unfolding of the details. Loved how Sin was portrayed as a bad biker with a soft soul who just wants to live his life. This included many one night hookups, booze and freedom. My only beef with this book was that it was too short in length. It was a complete story and included an epilogue so not a biggie. I sense though there's room for more books in the future about the other people in this tale. I hope so. My first time reading this authors work and I will look for more in the future....
When Sin was only seventeen years old, a girl he'd been with earlier in the year, dropped off Tyson, his newborn son. Tyson became the most important thing in his world and his biggest accomplishment in his life. On the day Tyson graduates from college, Sin meets Georgia whom he believes is Tyson's girl. He feels terribly guilty because the feelings he's experiencing for Georgia are not the feelings a parent should have for his son's girlfriend. But when Sin discovers that Georgia and Tyson are only friends, all bets are off. Georgia is his. For the first time in his life, Sin sees a future with a woman and will do whatever he has to in order to convince Georgia. Problem is, Georgia and Tyson are hiding a secret and when Sin finds out, he's not happy.
This was a short, but good story. Throttle is the name of the motorcycle shop Sin owns that he's made a success. It's not a biker book for those of you who don't like MC club books. Sin is all male and he's sexy as sin when he talks with Georgia. I'm a fan of the alpha bad boys so I liked Sin immediately. Georgia is a great leading female character. She strong and can handle Sin's mouth just fine. This story was told from Sin's POV.
First of all, a word to the wise. Grab a towel. Remove panties/knicker/undies (whatever you want to call them). Have something on hand to help you out. This book is HOT!
I couldn't help but want my very own Sin (real name, Cynfor) within the first couple of chapters and would've happily beaten Georgia to have him too! Sassie hasn't just written hot sex though, she's captured the whole book from Sin's POV and done it really well. The issues he has with Georgia; her age and the fact he assumes she's his son's girlfriend. Which is kind of funny because despite thinking that, he still can't keep his hands off her. And whoa! Do his hands go on her... *fans self* Sin's dealing with his undeniable attraction to Georgia, her attitude and his son's sudden emotional distancing. I'd highly recommend having a read. I was so hooked after just the first few pages, I ditched everything else for that night and just read...well, I did a little more than just read but in essence, I read! Grab it while it's on sale and get the towel ready to sit on. xxx
4 and a half stars, as Cyn deserves a huge smack over the head for how he behaved at the end. This is a well written, smokin' hot novel with a yummy hero and a lovely heroine, and some funny inner caveman dialogue. I am a big fan of the older guy, younger woman, immediate claiming kind of story and thank God Sassie didn't let Cyn do something unforgiveable when he was off on his bender. Here's a thought for next time, instead of having the hero basically chuck a huge tantrum at the end, and behave like an immature git, how about the "secret" turns into the opportunity for a delicious spanking scene rather than angst?? Can you tell I'm not a fan of angst and I actually like adults to communicate? I offer myself as a beta-reader, *wink* for any future novels by this talented author. All her future books will certainly go in to my "very interested" pile.
Getting to hang out with Sassie and alot of awesome authors over the weekend, and helping to pimp her book without actually reading first, because based on Sassies' cracking personality I figured it would be good.
Let me tell you.....after actually getting the time to sit down and read it....good is not the best description for this book....friggin awesome is a better description!
From cover to cover this book is gritty and oh so saucy and just raw and dirty (in the alpha OMFG drop panties kind way) that flows extremely well.
There is no fluff to this read and Sin...well he's your typical HOT male biker lead with a hot curvy yet very subtle leading lady! I wont lie...I wanted to crack Sin over the head a couple times!
Cant wait for the next read Sassie......holy crap woman you rock!!! Im really glad I gate crashed your release party....thank you xox
I really enjoyed reading Throttle and thought the story was interesting. I liked the older hero (14 year age difference with heroine) and the fact he had a full grown son and supportive older parents, too. They had a tight family unit, and I enjoyed the narration being from Sin's point of view. His thoughts and the rationale behind his (hot-headed) behaviors were insightful and kept me rooting for Georgia and him to have their HEA.
The book is well-edited and I didn't really notice any errors; however, Ms. Lewis is from Australia and some of the vocabulary is presented as such (bench = countertop, mobile = cell phone, etc.), even though the story takes place in the United States. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by this engaging story, and I'll be on the lookout for future works by Ms. Lewis.
Throttle is sassie's debut novella and was over the moon to receive a ARC in exchange for honest review. (thankyou lovely lady)
"There's always light at the end of the tunnel, cynfor. You just need to look past all the darkness"
What can I say. That was amazing!! Like sassie why have u no released a book before now? I was hooked I couldn't put it down. I loved the way the story played out. I loved sin and his Neanderthal ways, his passion evident from the off. That ending :) ahhhh. #nosurrendernoregrets
I cannot wait to read more from this very talented author xx
Cynfor "Sin" is now one of my favourite bbf, he turns his life around has unconditional love for his son whom he raises with the help of his parents, he falls for someone who he thinks he shouldn't, they sort that out then his world turns upside down when the 2 people he loves the most aren't honest with him. You can understand why he's hurt and feels the . Way he does!! I absolutely loved everything about this book I am now a Sassie Lewis fan and can't Waite to read more of her work, Throttle is deffinetly up there with some of the best books I've read so far this year, Highly recommended this book to anyone and everyone xx
I have wanted to read this book since the first teaser was posted on Facebook. Which did not help with the more teasers that Sassie posted. I could not wait for this book. But like in the movies you get the best parts and then it's not as good as good as you hoped.
This was worth the wait. Completely worth it. I laughed so much, there were parts I caught on to early on in the book but the outcome was not as expected. Sin is all man and is worth reading. Loved it. I can't wait for whatever Sassie decided to write next.
This was a very good book. I liked the POV from the hero. I liked the older hero younger heroine theme, 14 year age gap. The relationship between Sin & Tyson was really good. All the other secondary characters where very interesting and they added positively to this book.
This was a well written book. I would have liked to see a little more grovelling from Sin for being an idiot.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a caveman, super alpha hero with a heroine that is adorable.
I look forward to reading more from this author as she really did a good job.
I absolutely LOVED this book!! It's not very often you get this great a short story, but Sassie didn't disappoint! The characters are brilliant and detailed, as was the story! Not to mention it is HOT!
I have a new love for Sin! And Georgia of course!
HIGHLY recommend this book!
Will be reading it many more times and definitely look forward to reading more from Sassie Lewis in the future!
Whoohoo strap in for this ride!!! Sin is one hot mutha and Gia is the strong, independent woman that brought him to his knees. He meets her at his sons college graduation and instantly feels a connection and insane lust for her but he thinks she's dating his son. They work through that and get some good lovin going on! Sin is alpha at its best but Gia is no pushover which I enjoyed. You very much need to read this book as it's so enjoyable!!!
I REALLY enjoyed the inner musings of SIN. What a throwback of a man and utterly delicious. This is definitely his story and we don't get to know a lot about Georgia; although what I know about her I like.
This story left me wanting more of SIN.......what an incredibly sensitive and obtuse man.
Nothing better than to leave the reader wanting MORE! Very good little story and some very good characters. Loved SIN's Mom, too.
Recommended for a quick, fun, and HOT read. Thank you.
A fan-f#cking-tastic story! Sin will rev you up and melt your heart all in the first chapter. Georgia will join the list of top romance Heroine. The two together are combustible. Sassie, you were on point from the get go! I'm in love with Sin!! I CAN NOT WAIT for more!!
This is the first novel by Sassy Lewis that I have had the absolute pleasure of reading. She combines a great mix of character construction with a well structured plot. Add to the storyline some uniquely quirky humor and you find it damn near impossible to put the book down. I would highly recommend this 5 Star read to anyone who likes to read. I will be adding Sassy Lewis to my favorites.
I love when an author gives me a mans POV in a book. Sin is a dirty talking sexy man who has mad the best of what life handed him. He's never been in love and when he meets Georgia his life will never be the same.
Well well.... H is hard-on hots for the h, who is his son's friend. He is apprehensive at first due to she being his son's friend and her age. But then he just pounce on her. And h is full on desperate. No shyness whatsoever. Good sex.
I really enjoyed this book. It's different because it was written from the mans point of view, which was a nice change. Great job Sassie Lewis! Keep 'em coming!
