Air.

I needed air.

I was gasping, but my lungs refused to take any in.

Jasmine's world is crumbling around her. Still reeling from the discovery of her parents' identities, she is forced to face the repercussions of her actions in the Helian Realm, while her beloved home is besieged by Helian attackers. And she still can't control her powers.

Roxy is confronted by the realisation that she has travelled across the Realms for a boy who thinks she betrayed him. A boy dating the girl who sold her out. And even while freezing in the Arcan Realm it seems she can't escape Cinaer's grasp.

Time is running out for the girls to save the world - and the boy - they love. But to have any chance of defeating Cinaer, they are going to have to work together. Cinaer is on a warpath and he's not giving up until he has secured the Helian throne - even if he has to reduce the Arcan Realm to dust in the process.

Air is the gripping final installment of the Elements of Power trilogy.

My body was in heat mode, charged up from all the fire in the air. It felt as though I was sucking energy from the flames themselves, taking in their heat, their warmth, their danger...

Jasmine’s journey has come to an end.

After travelling through the Realms, Jasmine and Roxy will have to come to terms with what they have both discovered. All Jasmine wanted was to find out who her parents were while Roxy wanted to fit in.

But the problems are never ending for the girls.

The enemy is no one else than Cin, Roxy’s ex. If he is to have the Helian throne, then he must have the Helian princess at his side. Does it matter that Roxy wants nothing to do with him or that the Archan’s have no plan of releasing her? Well no because Cin won’t stop until he has her.

Roxy never expected to be held prisoner in the Archan Realm but if that means spending time with Brae then she’s not going to complain. The only downside, Jasmine. Jasmine has regretted leaving Roxy behind and she’s even willing to sacrifice her “friendship” with Brae to make up for her mistake.

Among the lies, new alliances begin to form and new relationships flourish. Will they survive the impending war?

This didn’t feel like an end! I loved the book but the end was more like a new beginning for Jasmine and Roxy. All of their obstacles were tackled and just when the time came to finally plan their future, the book ended.

Truth be told, we do get a taste of what Roxy’s future will hold but for Jasmine, nothing’s for sure. In the end, she still struggles to find her place in the Realms. What I loved was the fact that Jasmine has truly moved on from Brae. There are some awesome scenes with her and Tristan, the Sephan Realm’s new president that left a lot to be desired.

Just as the previous books, the book is told by dual POVs. We get to see what both Roxy and Jasmine think and their motives for acting as they do. We also get to see many other characters and of course Queen Aurelian and General Emmerich LeMark.

All in all, it was an amazing book but it just didn’t feel like an end to me. Jasmine was such a kind person and a great heroine while Roxy wasn’t half as bad as she wanted to make others think. I can’t say that the girls were perfect but they totally won me over.

A worth reading book!

Totally recommended!

Oh MY this series! I started off feeling rather "meh" towards it, but ended up loving the finale of it! Why? Roxy. The end. Okay, I know I should go in depth. Before I start gushing, let me explain some of the things I didn't like about the last book: things seemed to move really fast, there was some insta-love, and I definitely wanted more by the end of the book.

But I'm still giving this book five stars. Why? Because: kickass characters (especially badass action and combat girls just like Roxy), character development and relationships, and I felt things. You know how I don't normally ship book couples? THINGS HAVE CHANGED. I actually looked forward to all the sweet moments and pored over them. In fact, I want to read the book again! I've been in a reading slump lately and I just blasted through Air, which I think is a testament to how much I enjoyed it.

I've always adored Roxy since the beginning. She's feisty and goes after what she wants. In this book, my love for her grew even more. When other characters needed a good head knock, it seemed that Roxy was the one to pull it together. She knows how to take charge, and seeing her calling out other characters and fighting back made me so happy! As for Jasmine... Okay, I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of her. In the first book, I found her to be so weepy. In the second, nothing much improved for me. But here, I finally like her. She's definitely changed, and seeing that character development was great.

The feelings this book gave me! THE FEELINGS! I was angry at Jasmine, frustrated by Brae, heart-broken by what was happening to Roxy, and felt fiercely protective of their whole group at the end. Sure, there's romance in here. But the romance is enjoyable, even if some of it can seem like insta-love. Aside from the romantic relationships, it's the friendships and family-like bonds that got me. Especially between Roxy and the other characters. As a Helian, Roxy's view of others isn't really great and vice-versa. She learns, and people learn from her. She manages to build relationships with people she would have never have associated with before.

Overall: I have to end this review because it might turn into an entire essay of why I adore Roxy LeMarc! So, here's my attempt at wrapping it up. The good? Great action, fantastic characters, amazing world-building (over the entire series), and really struck an emotional chord with me. The bad? Some of it seemed too fast, like the story was rushing. Also insta-love. But you know what? I adored this book, good and bad, and give it five stars!

From the moment I started Air, it was hard to put down. We're thrust right into the action we saw coming at the end of Water and it continues pretty steadily until the very end. No spoilers here, but I was happy with the ending all around.

The Elements of Power series was solid from book one until the very end. There's excellent world and character building, a strong storyline, and a satisfying conclusion. This is a definite recommendation for those that enjoy fantasy.

I'm definitely going to miss this series! I like how it ended up, and more than anything I'll miss Roxy.
Loved re-reading these novels! I hope one day I can buy them in paperback to have on my bookshelves.

See also Fire and Water.

When I was first contacted to read and provide an honest review of Fire, I was excited by the possibilities the novel offered.

Two books later, that excitement hasn't faded any.

Our heroes were back again for their final adventure. But danger was closer than ever, and Cinaer wasn't taking any prisoners this time around. Roxy had finally found Brae, after her adventures in the last book, only the reunion does not go as planned. Things were just as uncertain for Jasmine as they were for Roxy. Just when things started coming together after her shock from book two, she's forced to come to terms with her actions that have led the story thus far.

I loved Roxy. Somewhere along the way during Water, Roxy really became the focus of the novel for me. Jasmine was intriguing, but she was so focused on her lie that I couldn't really connect with her. Roxy on the other hand, I got her. Not only was she a fun character when she was all bad and fiery, but over the course of the three books she became a character that was really inspirational.

I must say Heather James does a wonderful job with her character transformations.

The characters really make this story succeed. Air, like the first two books, is told in alternating point of views between Roxy and Jasmine, so we really get to see the final stage of their transformation first hand. But other characters like Brae and Tristan have equally important and fascinating character arcs that she really brings through each page as well.

Brae was ok. There was a moment where he really got on my nerves with how he reacted to a certain incident. I can't blame him for being upset, but it was a bit too aggravating. Not quite hypocritical, but like failure of perfection was intolerable. Like I said, I understand the why, but it made me like him less as a person. Which doesn't make a lot of sense as I sit here thinking about it because I cannot explain my dislike in a satisfactory manner.

Tristan was a fun character from the moment he was introduced. Here was a boy who had games and schemes, but just when you think you saw him and understood what he had planned, Tristan completely changed things up. I loved that. He was unpredictable, and a bit -ok, a whole lot- on the badboy scale.

I really cannot beheld accountable for my love of the badboy character. And boy does Tristan have a surprise or two left for us before the end.

We have been building to this moment -war- since page one of Fire.

The conflict between the four different elements, the four countries has reached the point where winning side will completely change the fate of their world. Cinaer was one hell of a baddie, and he had a lot planned for our heroes this go around. I hated him so much, but I loved him as a character. He was smart, and didn't make the stereotypical underestimating our heroes mistakes you sometimes see in books.

The fantastical elements of this series really came out to play in this one. Everything we've learned about the Protectors and their powers was important and drove our story. There were elements mentioned in book one, things I'd forgotten about, that suddenly were back in action. There was a certain twist that I sat there trying to figure out how something happened but never saw the actual solution coming.

The first part of this book seemed to be focused more on the characters and their lies and confessions and interactions finally coming to task. Every single choice and decision they have made since the beginning had a consequence and the author does a wonderful job pulling all there books together. While they still had some decisions to make before the end, once the action started, the drums were sounded and war was on.

From there, the focus shifted to survival. Yet, it wasn't just survival as in living. It was about surviving as in not losing who you were too. I was very upset when the story ended. Don't get me wrong, I loved the ending, I just want more. I am not ready to give these characters up.

A reread is certainly in the forecast.

Words To Live By
"Perhaps, she should learn not to place her trust in the people she has betrayed." (7%)

"I was infinitely darker and more broken than she was. Even for him I could never be perfect; it just wasn't who I was. If I told him that, I would risk losing him. But if I kept quiet, I risked losing myself instead." (27%)

"I'm not sure anymore whether people are telling me the truth, or telling me what I want they think I want to hear." (53%)

Overall
This is my number one indie series that I have read in the past few years. If you like fantasy YA with complex characters, a fun world, and plot that keeps you guessing, then I highly recommend this series.

I feel like not many people actually continue on with this series, after reading the first book. I have no Idea why! This is one of my favorite series ever. I don't know why you wouldn't read it if you are into paranormal / elemental's series.
It's inexpensive, the covers are gorgeous AND the story is amazing
I recommend this series highly... If you couldn't tell already ;)
I'm pretty sure I stalked these books every week until the next one came out...yeah...

However, there are a few reasons why I didn't give this series 5 stars, including;
- A few spelling errors or storyline errors
- The first book isn't available on iBooks (I read it through kindle)
- I took a break about 40% through the book
- Why is there four elementals but only 3 books, one for Air, Fire & Water... but no Earth?

Now, onto my review of the story.
I think I finally got the hang of each realm's name, Water = Brizian, Fire = Helian, Air = Arcan & Earth = Sephan
I think they're really creative names and love how they all sort of rhyme / end with "an".

The characters are amazing, well developed and there is a perfect amount of character development throughout all three of the books. I can just remember Roxy from the first book... woah has she changed!
The storylines were well thought out and interesting to read about. I never really felt that I was confused about what was happening throughout the books.
It was a long time ago that I read the previous 2 books, and the first half of this one, however I just randomly picked it up again one day and fell in love with it straight away!
I love how the chapters alternated between Jasmine & Roxy, you really get a good feel for both the characters, and the author did an excellent job in creating two distinctly different characters! A lot of authors that attempt this, end up making both the characters sort of blend into one and find it hard to distinguish between characters.
In this book it was nice to get a bit more of a feel for the Sephan realm, however I feel like we could use a bit more information. Maybe a spin-off novel called "Earth" either going back to the characters after a few years (kids, how the realms have developed, etc.) or just creating a bit of a short story about this world, with more information in particular about the Sephan Realm.
please make this happen.

*sorry about my messy review style, but I hope you get something good out of my review!

So basically I'm going to spam people about this series because I love it so much and am going to miss these characters a bunch! Please write another book, Heather James! You would make me so so happy!
