Well- they say that a man’s heart is through his stomach. What a heavily gender biased statement. As if women do not have taste buds or they do not have hearts. But the truth-and tasty truth it is that we are all addicted to good foods. We are virtually all slaves of food. But what we sometimes tend to forget that good foods are not necessarily tasty foods and vice versa. Rich cooking or excessive cooking spoils the nutrient value of the food sometimes. To strike a balance between the taste and the nutrient value is the challenge-no, rather the fiery taste for today’s women-women who have to prepare meals for the near and dear ones in the early morning and then have to go to office to get busy with a hectic schedule.
Thanks to the author and goodreads for sending this book.
The book has a very catchy punch line on the cover below the title saying "which always comes back empty" will be a sure hit among mother's.
The book has noted 25 recipes under chapter 'Irresistible bites' which definitely does justice for the title including the all 111 recipes. Sweta has included both vegetarian and non vegetarian snacks items and special recipes for diabetics. I wouldn't say that all the recipes are out of the box and 5 star delicacies rather most are the ones which people already knew about, but the book ensure that there is a twist in each of these and majority of them are doable with the existing every day kitchen stuff/items that one has handy.
Sweta has presented every recipe in a unique eloquent and a very own interesting way. She has maintained a very well structured style or I would say kind of culinary cuteness for every recipe with a jazzy tagline which includes stuff like little history of the dish, preparation time, servings and the most important nutritional value along with little sketches in pencil alongside the recipes leaving the visual detailing of the actual dish to the reader/cook.
This book is not only for mother's but also for bachelors(including the one's with their wives on vacation ;) ) who cook their own food or who would like to do so and would like to add variety and nutrition and easy of making to their kitchen.
In a nutshell, even tough I haven't tried all the recipes in kitchen I have had them run through my head and tasted the wonders of imagination.
I thank Sweta and Goodreads for sending me “The Magical Tiffin box” . This book has helped me a lot. In my house, my wife cooks three meals a day. She is a good cook and makes nice and tasty food. But when it comes to snacks or fancy food, my kids turn to me. Once in a while we three ( me and my kids) take over kitchen. We have enjoyed many recipes from this book and we enjoyed each of them. If you love cooking or want to start cooking then “The Magical Tiffin box” is the book for you.
