I have been following Namrata’s Blog “Privy Trifles” from quite some time. She writes well, infusing humour and wit with beautiful language. And so, I had to ask her a copy of her book. Metro Diaries is a collection of 20 short stories with a common theme of love. The added attraction of these stories that they are all based on real life stories! With that kind of USP of the book, I was all curious and excited when I picked up my copy of the book.

A collection of very mushy love stories with an occasional spark of bold and scandalous variety sprinkled in between for some change and spice.

I am not really a reader of the love story genre but an occasional foray into the mushy / emotional stuff is not bad for the reading appetite. And the risk with short stories is definitely less.

In the Metro Diaries, the author takes you on a near-poetic ride of the emotional world of hearts in love … and that too, love which is not simple but complicate

Metro Diaries is a collection of twenty tales written by Namrata aka Privy Trifles and they are all about love. I had to read this one as I just love the romance genre.

I must say that Namrata has written a beautiful collection of love stories in all its forms and the many facets of relationships between couples.

Some of the stories that I really liked are:

Love Thy Dreams - It is the story of Abhi and Kavya; their love that holds steady over time and distance. Love blossoms in their pre-univers

This is a collection of some of the most heart-warming love stories. The stories are soulful to their core, and romantic through and through, and each story explores a different emotional dimension: pain, wait, delight, agony, fulfilment, et al. Because well,
"Love stories aren’t created; they are captured."

While I am not very romantic in my choice of books, I'd say this was a decent read. The stories were a giveaway:some of them eventually cu

This read was, I admit out of my usual reading zone but I occasionally like to throw caution the the wind and read something I usually wouldn't! It's a well written thought provoking collection of realistic love stories, each one short and quite poetic. Based often at times on real life scenarios such as holidays, diaries, old photographs and letters often reliving the love and memories of their journey to find one another.

This is a collection of twenty short stories about love. Each one is different, but each one will draw you in and have you invested in the outcome for the characters. Not all of the stories have happy endings, much like real life, but they are all well worth reading.

My only real issue was that the author uses some stilted phrases, and has some grammar issues. I realize that comes from the fact she is from another country, but it made it difficult for me to read certain passages.

I am essentially a reader of novels, so this is the first time I read a romantic short story collection. I must say I am glad I read it. Namrata has effectively woven sensitive romantic emotions to tug the reader’s heart. Each story has a soul full of tender and heartfelt love.

The simplicity of the stories in this book makes it an easy read.
Each story seems to be taken from someone's day to day life. The letters in this book seem to be from someone's diary.
The sentiments - real.

A Weaver of Tales ...
Metro Diaries is a collection of short love stories collected over time. They are stories of common people- stories experienced by people like you and me at some point of time. Ms. Namrata is just a sutradhar, a weaver who captivated me with her choice of words.
All the stories are short so I cannot review them individually. Some got over even before they started. But all of them had a deep understanding of human nature. Few left an impact on me and one in particular bowled

'Metro Diaries' is a collection of 20 beautiful love stories from Namrata aka Privy Trifles. The stories are affecting, magical and enriching. You can feel the aroma of love in every story. I like Namrata’s writing and I think it has engraved in my heart.

The characters are well developed in all the stories. I can connect with the characters. I love all the stories, but if I have to give a rank, then ‘You, Me and Love’ will come in first position and ‘A message of love’ will be in second positio

Love stories in different shades and hues, love stories that make you nostalgic and mushy; all that the introduction talks about this book is true. It speaks of love, romance, the wait and the meeting all the things in between that make up love for us humans.

The book and its stories truly read like a diary! If Namrata had mentioned a date and place on top the page for each story it would truly feel like I was reading through the pages of someone’s personal diary. The different stories all have a

“True stories aren’t created; they are captured.” This quote echoes Namrata’s Metro Diaries, tales about love, unrequited ones yet soulful and pious, captured in metro cities that witness thousand love stories, some we imagine and the rest, obfuscate us. Yet, Namrata’s words is so real, stroking our heart. She lends a distinct voice to the stories, bringing a lyrical touch and powerful conversation tone that makes one identify with the stories. At one glance: Metro Diaries is written in a simple

Each story is accompanied by a poem. I eagerly waited for each one.

This is an enchanting series of blogs that have been put together in book form. They flow together smoothly, their common themes helping to connect them as you're reading. It reminded me of some of my own experiences. They are well written and a nice departure from reality.
