This was the perfect ending to the story of Gavin Garrison and Dixie Lark. As usual Casey Quinn did a phenomenal job depicting the gritty country music scene in this series.

A perfect electrifying heartfelt conclusion!!!! So a few months ago, I read my first Caisey Quinn book, Leaving Amarillo and ever since then I was hooked with wanting to know more about the cast characters who have captured my heart. And in this final installment of the Neon Dream Series, Caisey Quinn delivered one of her most intense, raw and emotionally gritty conclusion in Missing Dixie.
Ms. Quinn had left readers pondering the question of what lies ahead for Gavin Garrison and Dixie Lark. Will these two finally be singing the song to each other's hearts? Or will they discover that they are on two different wavelengths? Well, Ms. Quinn did not disappoint her readers as she delievered the perfect ending for this couple. As with any relationship, the first step in beginning a life together is honesty. For Gavin, the truth of his past is not pretty. Mistakes were made. Skeletons of his past were filled with guilt and regret but in the end he owned them. It made him who he is today, a better man. A man who knows without a doubt that there is only one woman for him. His Bluebird, Dixie Lark.
Dixie has been and will always be in love with Gavin Garrison. He was the one person who knew every note, song, and lyrics to her heart. He had the power to get under her skin. But the road to happiness had to start from her. When Dixie started a music program that she was passionate about, it gave her a sense that she was doing something that had meaning and purpose. It was her way of saying thank you to music and the beauty it fed her soul. As such, Dixie Lark blossomed into a character with so much depth and heart.
Dixie and Gavin's relationship was not an easy feat. This couple had an uphill battle of where they must acknowledge what happened to them. Gavin had to be completely honest with her with what really happened to him. Without spoiling it for the readers, I will just say Ms. Quinn gripped readers to the core as she laid an onslaught of raw heartfelt emotions that stripped you naked and made you FEEL every ounce of vulnerability as Gavin and Dixie worked through their issues. Though this book may have been classified as a second chance romance, it was so much more. Caisey Quinn allowed her readers to feel, see, hear, and breathe in the love and music that had captured our hearts. She showcased the personal growth of not just Gavin and Dixie but as well as Dallas. Dreams can change, new beginning can emerge, love can grow and blossom and lives can forever be intertwined. So if you are looking for a book where raw vulnerability and honesty was the backbone that gave this conclusion of this series profound meaning, then I highly recommend you to read Missing Dixie.

Gritty, heart-wrenching, and intense, MISSING DIXIE broke my heart in the best way before piecing it all back together again. It was everything I hoped for for Dixie and Gavin and then some.
I loved these characters from book one and I knew Gavin's story was going to gut me, hence the reason I was afraid to read this book. Afraid whatever Gavin had done would be unfixable, unforgivable, and not even a little bit redeeming. What I didn't expect, was the hope it would leave me with.
Caisey Quinn has done an amazing job of showing the good, the bad and the ugly parts of addiction and the ripple effect it has on everyone, not just the addict. She balances light with darkness, so it's not too angsty and depressing, and not too perfect to be true. Best of all, she gives Dixie, Gavin, and Dallas the endings they deserve and one that is sure to warm reader's hearts. It did mine. I ugly cried. Like Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead but with more tears and snot.
It wasn't pretty, but it was totally worth it.

Okay, so I really liked the first book in this series, I also enjoyed the second one, that was mainly about Dallas. I really don't know what to say after making myself finish this book. I see all of these 5 star ratings and I am thinking, I had to have read a different book.
The writing was good, but instead of loving or even liking our hero, I just couldn't. He was a somewhat mystery in the previous books, and I felt a connection between him and Dixie. I was anticipating this story, I thought it would have a lot of "feels" and I was excited about this.
Gavin Garrison spent most of this series internalizing how he was not good enough for Dixie. That he would never deserve her and she was better off with out him, blah, blah, blah. Up until almost 40% of this book there was hardly any interaction and lots of "poor me, I'm not good enough for my girl, all of the disgusting secrets I have been LYING to her about will never let her love me. And guess what? Gavin convinced me, he was not good enough for Dixie.
I really could go on and on about the things I did not like about this book, but I am going to narrow it down to I think, what was the most bothersome for me. So, we learn that while Dixie is away pining over Gavin, Gavin is actually selling himself for drugs, and selling his body for legal services. Ashley is the attorney, and I use the term loosely, that is accepting sex for legal advise. THEN when Dixie finds out, instead of putting a halt to her services, she accepts that they had sex, numerous times, and instead of having Gavin fire her, he continues to allow her to be his attorney, and wait for it.....Dixie also hires Ashley for her legal woes. She even goes as far as to say that she can't blame Ashley and Gavin, because if she would have been in the same position she would have done the same thing. Really?? Dixie loves this man so much that all of the gross stuff he did is just forgotten. They really didn't have any conversation about this?
So, rant over, yes, Dixie and Gavin deserve each other, because they are too stupid and indecisive to be with anyone else. Such a disappointment and I will think and read HONEST reviews before I read more by this author.

“We are all broken. That’s how the light gets in.”
Oh, how I’ve waited for this book. I have been dying for the conclusion of Gavin and Dixie’s story ever since I finished Leaving Amarillo. My heart was broken and I had to know how things would play out. And let me tell you, Missing Dixie was so worth the wait.
Missing Dixie pretty much picks up where both Leaving Amarillo and Loving Dallas left off. Dixie is trying her hardest to live a life without Gavin. He told her to wait for him, but so many things had changed. There was so much pain and unknown. My heart ached for these two broken souls. Their pain so real and palpable. You could literally fell the angst and turmoil roll off the pages. With lines like these: “I am a walking, talking, living, breathing storm cloud waiting to burst and rain on everyone else’s parade” or “Being with Gavin was the last time I felt truly alive–like I finally belonged where I was meant to be. But like all happiness, it was fleeting.” or “My heart belongs to his heart. And whether he thinks he deserves me or not, his soul is forever connected to mine.”, it’s impossible not to get caught up in their story and feel their pain.
Gavin and Dixie’s road to happily ever after is definitely not an easy one. They both have a tough road to go down and Gavin not only has a lot of explaining to do, but he’s also got a lot of demons to conquer. Gavin and Dixie’s story is beautiful, raw and intense. It will take you on a roller-coaster ride of emotions and will leave you hoping and praying that things will turn out ok in the end.
Missing Dixie is the perfect conclusion to Gavin and Dixie’s story. The writing is beautiful and captivating. It pulls you in and completely consumes you; making you get lost in Gavin and Dixie’s story. It will make you laugh. It will make you cry. It will frustrate you. It will make you want to throw your kindle across the room! But, it will also give you hope. It will make you want to forgive. And most of all, it will make you fall in love with these amazing, broken characters. Caisey Quinn has completely blown me away with how much heart and soul she put into this story. She gave me everything that I needed and more.
As I close up this review, I am going to leave you with two quotes. These two quotes are beautiful in their own way and really sum up the awesomenesss of Caisey Quinn’s writing….“Life doesn’t always turn out how you expect and sometimes parts of you get broken along the way, but there is always hope and even broken pieces can be rebuilt into something beautiful.” and “Sometimes that’s all love is. Giving the other person what they need despite the price, despite the sacrifice or possibly painful outcome.”

"Right as I'm about to look away, her gaze collides with mine. My heart swells in my chest. I have so much to say but no words to say it. I'm sorry. I'm trying. I love you."
Uhm! How to describe my feelings towards Missing Dixie?
I liked it.. a lot but I'm not sure I loved it. And if I had to tell you what it is exactly that didn't convince me I wouldn't be able too.
I found it a bit messy. I love me some good angst and I didn't mind the back and forth between Dixie and Gavin but one of the thing that bothered me the most was not being able to pinpoint the exact moment in which Gavin changed his mind about their relationship and realized that he wanted to be with her for good.
Another problem for me was Liam. Don't get me wrong! I loved Liam and I wanted the best for him, but towards the end the book focused too much on him and their relationship with Dixie and Gavin. I cared about Liam but I cared more about the couple, and I'd have liked to see a different kind of ending that focused more on the two. Towards the end, I felt like the romance wasn't even the central theme of the book anymore. I'd have preferred a more balanced ending.

I'll start by telling you that I loved the story and chemistry of Gavin and Dixie in Leaving Amarillo, but nearing the end I knew that it had a determined end. In the book two
Loving Dallas, we saw a little more of them but what we saw didn´t look very cute. I couldn´t wait to read the next one and I cried when I received this ARC.
Well now I don´t even know where to start, but I can tell you that I loved this book, I ended up with a smile on my lips and tears of both, sadness and happiness. I started reading it and couldn´t stop until I finished, I read one page and wanted to read the next one, and one more and so on until I finished it, is a story that makes you be at the edge of your seat.
Now the half of the book is hard, raw and sad, but in a wonderful and sweet way, makes you wonder about many things in life.
Gavin, this sweet, tortured and sexy drummer made me cried half of the book, his story made my heart ache and happened to be one of my book boyfriends.
He has a very tough story, grew up in a home with drug addicts, without food, sleeping on the floor, rescuing his mother from death, hit by his mother's boyfriends until he met the Lark brothers. From there, his live improved and could move forward. Because they become friends regardless of their condition and their grandparents took care of him, treaded his like family and gave him faith and hope.
But when Dixie went to college, felt that he lost the only person that gave him hope and because of that he made bad choices that lead him to have problems and thought he didn´t deserve Dixie. He thinks if he tells her all of that, she will stop loving him.
Dixie is a strong, brave and feisty woman who had love Gavin since the day she met him and wanted to show him in the first book that their relationship was worth. She fought for him with all her might and did what is in her power to always save him, but get tired of being lied and kept in the dark.
They love each other but are kept apart by the dark side of Gavin, he does not want to harm her and therefore he keeps her out. And at a crucial moment Gavin has to choose light or darkness.
Caisey makes us see throughout the entire book the suffering and sadness that Gavin have in his heart and understand why he don´t want to get involved with Dixie. But she struggles to bring him to light and to heal his heart.
The story has heartbreaking many parts, and will break your heart every single time, they are so well described that feel so real and you suffer with the characters. I cried a lot, I couldn´t stop mourning, but in the end, after suffering with Dixie and Gavin, you will have a sense of joy and well-being that will keep you with tears but a smile on your face. A story of overcoming that gives you hope. I really enjoyed the book, a super recommendation for all you who love romance like me. You do not want to miss it.

I love music. I'd spent almost my entire college career with headphones stuck in my ears. In high school, the car I drove to school was ugly but the radio was loud and proud. If you love the allure of music, you will be seduced by this story. Even if you don't give a lick about music, you will love the Neon Dreams trilogy by Caisey Quinn. You WANT to read the first two books in this series to get the most out of this final book in the trilogy, Missing Dixie. Otherwise, you will miss so much of what makes Dixie and Gavin the couple they NEED to be. And I pretty much "told you so" because the book will be only this good. ∗holds hand at my chest∗
If you haven't read the first two books, you might want to turn around and head to your favorite place to purchase literature to buy Leaving Amarillo and Loving Dallas.
While the first book, Leaving Amarillo, is part one of Dixie and Gavin's love story, it is told in only Dixie's POV. The utter awesomeness of Missing Dixie is that it is told in both Gavin and Dixie's POVs. "Hearing" EVERYTHING from Gavin's side is almost an unbearable torture that I found difficult to read at parts. At times I wanted to kick his ass and at other times, I needed to reach through the pages to give the guy a hug. He was his own worst enemy at times.
Dixie is an angel. I really can't (and won't) say anything more about her wonderfully written character.
A harsh, dark story in the beginning, the plot stays steady and eventually brings light and goodness at the end. As hard as a story as this was to read, the reward is in how it all turns out for Dixie, Gavin, Dallas, and even Robyn. A perfect musical ending for such a hopeful future for our road weary couple.

Missing Dixie was nothing at all like I expected. This story encompassed so much more that just Gavin and Dixie's relationship and it went in directions I never would've guessed but it was absolutely perfect. I couldn't be happier with how this series ended!

I feel like I've been waiting for this book for so long! After finishing Leaving Amarillo, I was desperate to see how Dixie and Gavin's story would continue. My heart ached for both of them, as Dixie is heartbroken over Gavin's inability to commit to her and he is struggling because he doesn't want to hurt her. However, Gavin has secrets of the past and wants to try and get his life together before he feels he can truly let himself be with her.
As much as I was rooting for these two to get their HEA, it took me a bit to work past the anger and frustration I felt (mainly at Gavin). This book was more angst-filled than the others and it drove me a little nuts because I just wanted Gavin to stop with the act and open up to Dixie and be honest with her. She deserved that from him, especially after telling her to wait for him and giving her hope. Even after time apart and Dixie being hurt by Gavin not telling her he was back in town, they still have explosive chemistry together. They both can't deny they want the other, but Gavin still hasn't gotten his crap sorted and he knows he has to come clean to Dixie if he ever wants a shot. I was not a fan of his plan to intentionally hurt her because he feels he may never be good enough for her. Dixie has always been in his corner, ever since they were kids, so to see him treat her the way he did broke my heart for both of them. His past is an ugly one and I can't blame him for wanting to keep it from her. He has a lot of anger in him and music has always been an outlet for him. However, his friendship with Dixie and Dallas has also shaped a lot of who he is too. He is a good person and I love that his friends believed in him every step of the way.
One of the most surprising developments in this book was Liam. I absolutely loved the addition of this character and seeing him bond with both Dixie and Gavin floored me in the best way. I won't say much more, but he will definitely leave an impression on your heart.
Dixie and Gavin have not had an easy road together and it does take quite a bit of the book for them to finally get to a point where they are tackling things together. I was so happy then because I loved seeing them work as one and be able to support each other wholly.
Overall, I am happy with the way the story concluded, even though the emotional whiplash I felt between the two of them really messed with me. (I'm not typically an angry reader, but the back and forth just put me over the top.) This is a very raw, intense story and while parts of it are not easy to read, it is a love story through and through and we see firsthand just how messy love can be... but also how worth it.

When I read Leaving Amarillo, I knew that Gav had some history. Glimpses of it were there for me to see and it was frustrating that he couldn't seem to choose the light instead of the darkness of his past. I wanted so much for his story to come out and their happy to happen.
Then Loving Dallas came next. Frankly, I wasn't happy. I wanted Dixie and Gavin to get their story finished. But I can honestly say that after reading Missing Dixie, I get it. Time needed to happen. Dallas needed to work through some things and get his happy. But mostly, Dixie needed to meet Liam. Don't worry, he's not a love interest. He's a sweet little seven year old boy that is tangled in their story and helps them sort things out.
I very much wanted to hug and slap Gavin in equal measures through most of this book. All I can say is that I love him and he frustrates me. Open your mouth Gavin and tell her the truth. That's what I wanted. But it's possible that Dixie wasn't quite ready to hear it until she did. And that was brilliance by the author even if it had me peeking ahead.
This is, at times, a difficult and emotional story to read but it fits the series well. It's also clear how much these two love each other as they try to resist each other but sometime give in. It's broken, just like it's characters. But it lets the light shine through. (I'm paraphrasing the book which was quoting Hemingway.) I loved it. It's satisfying. It's messy. It's real.
If you've read the first two, you want this one for sure. If you haven't read this series, you should. It's a great mix of band and life drama topped with a side of sexy.

This is going to be a short and sweet review. I loved this book. I loved this series. I love this author. Caisey Quinn is quickly becoming one of my “go to” writers. She can weave a story so rich with real life struggles, pain, angst, humor, intellect, growth, romance and intense love that it has you wanting to heal the main character and smother him with love while in the same breath wanting to ring his neck (for you non-southerners that means beat some sense into him).
Gavin is broken and battered soul. His life has been an endless cycle of abuse. He was powerless against it when he was a boy but now that he is a man his greatest abuser is himself. The only light in his life has been his best friend Dallas Lark and his baby sister Dixie. She is the balm for his pain but can he be the man she needs and deserves? How can he have her without breaking and battering her soul too? It’s time to man up… for himself… for his band… for his bluebird… and for a little boy that only he may know how to reach. The old saying goes “If you can’t beat’em, join’em”. Well eff that!!! Time to put on those gloves and fight Garrison!

I had never heard of this series before, but when this book was available for request, I saw a lot of people excited about it and I was instantly intrigued.
I liked Dixie and Gavin well enough. They definitely have chemistry, but their entire relationship was a little too dramatic for me. Their constant push and pull made sense with the history between them; however, it got old pretty quickly. I don't understand why it took so long for the truth to be revealed. Or why Dixie was willing to just accept the secrets. I did love all of the musical aspects of the story. Caisey perfectly captures the passion the characters have for the band and for creating. And Liam may have been the best part of the entire book.
Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more if I would have read the previous books. Overall, it was a quick read, but I'm not sure I'll be going back to read the others in the series.

The whiplash these characters gave me was epic. Near the middle of the book, I was so over it. Which I hate, because I loved these two in Leaving Amarillo. Perhaps it was leftover meh from the second book in the series (which I rushed to read so I could review this one), but I don't think that was it. I think this was just kind of a mess. The ups and downs...the I Love You But I'm No Good For You's and the I'm Gonna Feel You Up Anyway's. The best part of this was Liam for me. The way he brought Gavin out of his shell and pushed him toward finally opening up to Dixie and telling the truth. The way he brought the three of them together. I loved that part. I just wasn't a fan of the high school immaturity that happened earlier in the book with Gavin being all secretive, and Dixie letting him get away with it. It was tiresome and difficult to read. I was annoyed most of the time, which does not make a book enjoyable. I'm overly critical though, so don't take my word for it. If you loved this series before, give it a shot and see what you think.

Papa used to say living your life was like driving a car. While it's necessary to glance back every now and then, it's much more important to watch where you are going than dwell on where you've been.
Dixie Lark is just starting to find herself. Her brother Dallas and his wife Robyn, are expecting their first child and he is coming off from a successful tour on the road. Dixie and Dallas and Gavin Garrison formed the band Leaving Amarillo. But Dallas was offered a solo contract, Dixie traveled cross country for a while and Gavin-well Gavin was doing his own thing without letting anyone know exactly what that thing was.
These three have always been close. Gavin's mom is a junkie and she was no better when Gavin was a kid. He was neglected and half starved and he only found hope when he met Dixie and Dallas. They bonded together as kids, made sure Gavin ate and he had a safe place to stay, when he needed it. But the scars of neglect never really heal. His mother's demons became his and he fought to keep them at bay.
Dixie thought Gavin was going on tour as Dallas' drummer, but painfully learned he had been right near her at home but had never contacted her. They shared a passionate night while on tour, but Dixie figures one night was all Gavin needed with her. She is determined to do the things she needs to for her now.
I vow never again to hand my heart over to Gavin Garrison. At least not until he hands me his first.
She is giving music lessons to underprivileged kids and is writing songs. She is finding her place and is trying to move on. But then things all get stirred up again.
Dallas wants the three of them to enter a battle of the bands. There is a record contract up for grabs and his circumstances have changed and he is without a record contract. So now he has a family to support but no job. Gavin would love nothing better than to work with Dixie again. He's bartending and still getting sucked into his mother's addiction problems. He wants so badly to be with Dixie, but knows he has to come clean about what he did for the year she was away at school. He wanted to tell her when they were on tour, but they finally crossed over from best friends to lovers and he didn't want to ruin that.
And then she had to go and push it, push me, want me the way I'd always wanted her.
Now I live in a constant state of purgatory.
I need her.
She haunts my dreams and most of my waking moments. Her whimpers, her breathy moans, her sweet, soft laughter.
She tamed the demons inside me, bringing them to heal with a gentleness I never expected them to submit to.
I f#*king crave her like a desperate addict dying for his final fix.
I don't deserve her.
I will only hurt her.
But he fears that when she learns the truth she will be disgusted and never look at him again the same way. In the meantime, he's yearning for the woman he wants while fielding passes from ones he doesn't.

I was angry when Gavin and Dixie were left off Dallas' tour and couldn't understand why Dixie was left to go home alone. But she needed to be there so another soul could find salvation and hope with her. Not to reveal too much, but Dixie and her music will change the lives of more than a few kids and one especially.
"Life is too short to spend it pining for someone who will never come around, wishing for something you will never have, and holding on to something or someone that doesn't want to be held."
This is a beautiful story about second chances and forgiveness and unconditional love. Loving someone and committing to spending your life with them guarantees that there will be tears and laughter. But most of all you have to be willing to accept the ugly in order to open yourself up to the beautiful. Once Dixie hears all that Gavin has to tell, can she accept his past so they can have a future? This is as much a story about a woman's journey to dig deep inside herself to be all she can-alone or not, as much as it is about two souls becoming one.
I've learned a few vital lessons over these past few months. It's not knowledge and experience that helps us to grow and mature.
It's pain. It's damage. It's recovering from it.

What an emotional ride this was and a fantastic end to this series though I'm totally sad it is the last book. The author really let's you in to her characters lives and saying goodbye is so sad. So glad again for the dual POV and the updates on what was going on with Dallas and Robyn. Love that one bit of news in the final Gavin POV chapter.

Missing Dixie is everything I could have hoped for, and more, for the conclusion to Gavin & Dixie's heart wrenching, intense, and emotional love story...it's captivating, it's passionate, it's perfection. This book, this book, and Leaving Amarillo and Loving Dallas, these books are why I read.

Gavin and Dixie not only stole my heart in Leaving Amarillo, they owned it. And then they broke it. And I had to wait months for it to be put back together again. But oh was the wait worth it. Missing Dixie was worth every agonizing minute, day, week, month, that we had to go through to get this point...
"I'm just letting you kow that once upon a time a devil fell in love with an angel, and now that devil is working on becoming a man worthy of an angel's love."
There's so much I want to say about this book but I just don't know that I can even put my thoughts into words. Gavin is such a damaged and tortured and broken soul. He wants nothing more than to love Dixie, to be a man worthy of her. But he has so much baggage that he has to deal with and work through, his life has never been easy- it's been downright ugly at times, and he's afraid that he will never be the man she deserves. But Dixie just wants to love Gavin and to be loved by Gavin, damaged parts and all.

Missing Dixie made me laugh and cry, I was swooning and swearing, I was falling in love with Gavin and Dixie all over again. This book put me through a roller coaster of emotions, but there's not one thing I would change about it. Caisey Quinn knows how to write an amazing story that's full of angst and heart, one that will have you on pins and needles, not knowing where she's going to take you next.
When I read Leaving Amarillo earlier this year I never expected the impact this series would end up having on me. I never expected the emotions it would evoke in me, the feelings it would pull from me, nor just how much I would become invested in these characters...I really am not ready to let them go. This series is really something special.

I don't even know where to start with my review for this book, so I'm going to keep it (relatively) short and sweet. I've been putting off writing this forever because the book meant so much to me and I know I can never do it justice. But here goes nothing...
I knew the minute I picked up Leaving Amarillo that I was reading something truly special. I fell in love with every aspect of the books. The characters were perfectly imperfect. The setting... the music... the feels... ALL OF IT. It wasn't my first Caisey Quinn read, but it did make me want to go back and read EVERYTHING she's ever written. (I haven't done this yet, but I need to. Soon. Girl with Guitar is calling my name.) All that said... Leaving Amarillo wrecked me. In a good way, but also in a way that kept me from being able to think of much else until I got more. Especially of Dixie and Gavin's story. I was greedy as hell for the next two books in the series because I needed to see how it all wrapped up. At the same time, I was also scared it wouldn't end in a way I could handle, so I totally spoiled this book for myself before diving in. I won't even try to deny it.
Missing Dixie was full of bumps and twists and it was the most angsty of the books in the series. I didn't even care. I loved it just as it was. Seeing Dixie and Gavin in the same place again made me so happy. Each of these characters grew so much over the course of this series, and especially in this book. Gavin was trying to right old wrongs so he could be the man he wanted for Dixie. Dixie was trying to get over Gavin and move on. Their band was getting another chance to follow their dreams. There was conflict and feelings and some surprising new characters that I just can't even imagine the series without now. (Ok, really... one. Liam. Oh, my heart.) I laughed, cried and swooned... and I had a glass of wine in my hand the entire time.
I can't imagine a more perfect ending to Dixie and Gavin's story. I felt it was genuine – perfect for them. More would've felt forced and less would've been inconceivable. Even thinking about this series makes me want to binge the hell out of it just to get all the feels it gave me again. The Neon Dreams series is undoubtedly one of my favorite new adult series of the year and really high up on my list off all time faves. I hate that it's over, but I love how it ended. *big swoony sigh*

Music saves lives - truer words have never been spoken. Adore the character development even though Gavin's secrets were a bit worse than I feared. Dixie's character growth was utterly tremendous and her portrayal and the belief that there are real people in the world like her provides hope for humanity <3
I have been waiting for the final installment of Dixie and Gavin's story with bated breath. I entered the story with more than a little trepidation especially after the glimpse we had of their interactions in Loving Dallas.
Dixie has developed a great deal from our first encounters with her in Leaving Amarillo she has become stronger, more independent without losing her innate kindness and ability to bring out the best in the people around her. I completely adored her in Missing Dixie, I have to say she is a far better person than I am in the way she is able to forgive people. Dixie is an inspiration, especially in the use of music to help people.
For me the theme that really stood out and meant the most for me within this series was not the romance. I know SHOCK!!!! it is the portrayal of music and how it helps save lives. This is some thing I can truly understand, I am one of those people that need music at all times in order to remain calm :)
I enjoyed being able to understand Gavin better yet have to say the revelations which finally see the light of day are a little worse than I anticipated. It made me view him in a different light, although it made me appreciate Dixie's ability to love unconditionally more.
The other aspect of Missing Dixie that stood out within the narrative was the idea of fate/destiny. Everything that has happened in their lives have led both Gavin and Dixie to a certain point, their insight into situations even the negative ones allow them the ability to relate and empathise on a personal level to people around them. To the extent of being to aid those who require assistance in ways no-one else would be able to. I know this sounds a bit vague but believe me it will all make sense when you read the book.
I just really want to keep shouting MUSIC SAVES LIVES as well as EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.
Missing Dixie completes the Neon Dreams series brilliantly. No matter what type of music you prefer, the Neon Dreams series will make you appreciate it even more.

This is THE PERFECT ending to us Dixie/Gavin shippers.
The character development for both of them was really strong and even though they go through some important situations, you tend to forget they're really young.
I love that Dixie Lark becomes increasingly assertive and sure of herself and her decisions. In "Leaving Amarillo" she was tittering the line between being confident and hesitant when it came to asking for what she wanted; Gavin. There were moments when she was strong in her decisions and then indecision would take the lead and what had felt as a "YES, SHE'S MOVING ALONG! YOU GO, GIRL!" would fall apart. That was sometimes a turn off. HOWEVER, time spent on her own without the band and her brother really made her grow into her own person which is relatable to all us trying to "grow up", regardless of age. This growth really shows in Missing Dixie.
This is also a coming of age / maturing story for Gavin, as there are things he wants in his life and is now trying to move on from his past and what he's done, to get to where he wants to go in the future. The way Caisey Quinn writes his struggles have a real feel to them; even if you don't share the situation, you understand why he hesitates on some things.
The character additions were spot on to tell the story that needed to be told and helpd both MC go where they needed to go.
Overall, I loved this story and that we get to have our HEA with these lovely characters who have gone through so much and have stolen our hearts in the process. Huge props to Caisey Quinn on this amazing story! She is now -obviously - a "must-read" author on my list!

Life doesn't always turn out how you expect and sometimes parts of you get broken along the way, but there is always hope and even broken pieces can be rebuilt into something beautiful. My heart is a piece of mosaic art at this point.
Ya'll I just don't even know where to start on this one. Having just finished with tears in my eyes, happy, content tears! don't panic, I just don't even know where to begin.
I have always been up front with my love of Caisey's books. But hand to God this is her absolute best work yet. I fell so fast into this story that it is like I was there living and breathing every moment. Gavin and Dixie have held me captivated since Leaving Amarillo and their story is not one I will ever forget or ever tire of reading.
I won't lie. A lot goes on in this book and half of it is painful and raw. But damn it if isn't beautiful in it's own way through it all. I think I experienced every emotion one could imagine while reading Missing Dixie. There are so many lines in this book that spoke to my soul. I felt these words bone deep. I know that sounds crazy but that is what some books do to me and this was one of them.
I'm a mess of emotions and sad that this book is over. So I know my review is probably just a bunch of rambling but I cannot adequately form the words to give this book justice. This was the perfect conclusion for Dixie and Gavin and not even close to what I expected. I have been blown away!

I was super excited when I was approved to receive an early copy to review. I loved the first two books from this series and couldn't wait until it came out.
This book is the final in the series and it brought out so much emotion in me. There were times that I was so mad at Gavin that I had to walk away from reading any further just to calm myself down. With that being said, Gavin has always been my favorite character. That bad boy just tugged at my heart strings. In this book though, what he was doing was frustrating. Did it make me like him any less? No! If anything, it pulled me in even more, just like it did to Dixie.
I really liked how this book showed just how much Dixie matured and became stronger. She is an amazing character as well.
My heart went out to Liam. I liked how he was introduced and his ending brought a huge smile to my face.
There was one part of the book that was a bit frustrating because of technicalities with systems which didn't appear to be accurate. It was frustrating to me just because of the line of work I am in. This minor frustration didn't take away from the story at all but it had me saying to myself, "it wouldn't work this way". I don't want to give any spoilers so I won't specify what this pertains to.
Overall, it was a solid ending that I loved.

• Missing Dixie is dual narrated by Gavin and Dixie, which gives you so much more insight into Gavin and his childhood and how he became the person that he is. This is the part that wrecked me the most. There are just no words to describe this.
• Dixie is stronger in Missing Dixie. She knows what she wants and she isn't tolerating Gavin or Dallas's crap.

Ce roman conclut la trilogie de Caisey Quinn consacrée à un groupe de musique country. Ils sont trois, Dallas et Dixie et Gavin. Dans le premier tome, nous avons découvert l’amour profond que Dixie porte à Gavin le bad boy de service, celui qui a été élevé dans un milieu si défavorisé qu’il est resté très traumatisé et empli de doutes sur lui-même. Dans le second, nous avons eu droit à l’histoire bien fade, il faut le dire de Dallas, héros bien peu charismatique et voilà la conclusion qui revient sur le premier couple dont l’histoire s’est arrêtée temporairement.
J’avais globalement bien apprécié le premier tome malgré quelques lenteurs, beaucoup moins le second, un brin ennuyeux et j’attendais la conclusion de l’histoire de Gavin et Dixie, car ces deux personnages m’avaient plu davantage. Si ce livre est supérieur au second, il ne restera pas une lecture inoubliable pour moi pour quasiment les même raisons qu’auparavant. Il y a toujours des longueurs et des ressorts dramatiques identiques et franchement usés jusqu’à la corde par l’auteure elle-même depuis le premier tome.

The crazy thing about love is that there is really no choice in the matter. When you love someone as much as Gavin and Dixie love each other it is hard to give that up, even when the bad outweighs the good. In Gavin’s case, the bad gets really bad. Yet he is unbelievably lucky, because Dixie does not back down when it is something she really wants. As much as Gavin gets in the way of his own happiness, it is awesome to see how much Dixie is the truth and the light in his life.

I absolutely loved this book. Oh Gavin just had me. I can not believe this big wonderful sexy man went thru so much pain growing up and is still going thru so much and holds it all inside, but yet is so caring for others but mostly for Dixie. Then we have Dixie who is so strong will yet crumbles when it comes to Gavin. Their story is just so heart warming. I am so glad that Caisey finally got their story finished and I was able to read it.
