This book was rather interesting to me. When I first started reading it, it was hard to follow, as this book is in the first person, and the way that the book is written suggests that the third person would be better. As I said, it was hard to follow at the beginning, but as the story went on, it became clearer and clearer, and I was able to finally tell what was going on. By the end of the novel, all of the story lines were worked out and the reader was left satisfied, but it would have been ...more

This book ok for me. I didn't really follow this book and it didn't engage me as much as I would like. I think the beginning of the book was a bit slow for me as well. * I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

I won this book in the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway.

This book was good, but hard to follow in parts. It was the kind of book that I could only read when I was in the right frame of mind. I shall be passing this book on to my son-in-law who reads a lot of this genre.

Jasper Joyce is an adorably awkward geek who's trying to change the world. It's clear from the beginning that he doesn't quite fit into society, but it's not entirely clear why. Yet on the other hand, he needs to coach himself constantly to be able to interact with people properly and to pass a job interview and ...more

John Mickus' debut science fiction novel, Meant for Greater Things, is a good start, but it's not quite ready for "prime time." Some careful proofreading and editing would help to push this intriguing story to star quality. This includes attention to verb tense consistency, writing strong sentences, proper formatting of the pdf version. It's not too late. The reader needs to know more details, and hints along the way are critical to science fiction and other thriller novels. See Science Fiction ...more

This was a pretty neat idea and it wasn't executed badly, but there was some lassitude about the work that meant I just didn't quite engage with it properly. I'd try another of the author's works, just to see if it's an endemic issue.
