Debra has spent the last year traveling the world. She is at a crossroads in her life. Being a widow has left her not knowing what to do. Now she’s at her last stop, Hong Kong. What she didn’t plan on was the hot young guy who is now front and center in her fantasies at night.
Braam isn’t looking for anything, except the manager who stole from the hotel. He’s just doing his job until he finds a beautiful woman swimming in the pool one night. He is immediately attracted to her, and is determined to make her his.
Soon they discover that the need to be with each other consumes therm. Debra only thinks of this as a vacation fling, and wonders why someone younger than her would want anything more than just a few fun days together. She’s never seen herself as anything special and definitely not a cougar.
What will happen when Debra hears some shocking news? Will Braam fight for someone he’s finally found love with, someone he wants to commit to? Will she get over her worries about their age difference?
Not only do we get to journey with Debra and Braam as they find love with each other but we do so with Hong Kong as a backdrop. Its obvious reading the book that Raven as visited Hong Kong because it’s hard to fake the detail that she gives us. I felt like I was there along with the characters. It was fantastic.
The beautiful background, the steamy sex and the journey they go on together to find love makes this a must read.

Deb is on the last leg of her year-long holiday as a middle-aged woman. She's a widow who needed the time to herself to finally get on with her life. I loved that her last leg was in Hong Kong. What a fascinating setting, and in the beginning, I enjoyed the descriptions, but they did go on a bit too much for my liking later on in the book. It was fascinating learning about a totally different culture though. It's definitely made me keen on visiting Hong Kong.
I loved that Deb was the same age as me and that piqued my interest from the start.
The book also starts off with her meeting Braam, the hotel manager. She first sees him jogging and then meets him at the pool while swimming in her underwear. The attraction is immediate, despite their twelve-year age gap. It certainly was a sexy way to start off the relationship.
I would have loved more of his POV explanations for what attracted him to her though. And not just in a physical sense. There has to be more than just sexual attraction for a relationship to work.
At times, I loved the romance, but at other times I didn't. Some of the sex scenes were truly hot - like the last one and the one at the gym, but others didn't catch my attention at all and I had to plough through them. I do feel that sex scenes have a purpose to move the romance forward, and some of them just seemed like sex and nothing else.
I enjoyed the light banter between the characters, and Braam really was a sweetie. He was a well-rounded hero with unique character - one of the highlights of the book.
I would have liked some more detail into Debra's decisions - for a forty-something, she only seemed interested in sex and not romance. I know it probably wasn't true, but it came across that way. It bothered me a bit. (Am I old-fashioned?)
Overall, it was a romantic story about finding love in your forties. A great read if you want hot sex scenes in exotic locations.

This was my second foray into Raven Mcallan's recent contemporary books, and I really loved the characters in this one!
Braam, the hero is instantly attracted to Debra, one of his hotel guests in Hong Kong. He's a fit young guy, but he's kind too and this made him particularly attractive I think. Debra is an older woman, widowed and travelling alone. Little did either of them think they'd have a hot affair while she stayed at the hotel.
What I really liked about this story is that though it is sexy and sensual the affair doesn't come across a tawdry and has a believeability about it. They seem well matched despite the age difference, and the reader is not made to feel that it is that much of a big deal. Apart from the heroine's black moment anyway.
It was also fun to be introduced to Hong Kong as a tourist along with Debra, and Braam shows his love for his home. Sometimes this did feel a bit too much of a tourist guide, but only a little.
I'd really like to see more of these characters, or perhaps this setting used for a new story.

Debra is a widow and is, in her words, past the mid-life crisis age. After a year of traveling, she goes to Hong Kong where she meets a charming and attractive younger man. This is the start of an erotic adventure for Debra and Braam.
Played out against the exotic backdrop of Hong Kong, Debra gets to experience something she’s been missing for quite a while. The location adds a layer of excitement to this story of a woman who realizes it’s never to late to let go and give in to her desires.

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review through my book club**
I thought this book was good. It would make a good beach read. It was quick and the sex scenes were hot. It's Stella Gets Her Groove Back in Hong Kong. It was a fun read with not too much plot or back story to bog it down. There was quite a bit of cussing though, so if you are not comfortable with or used to that, be aware ahead of time.
I'd recommend this to anyone interested in a quick, sexy, romantic romp.

I just took a lovely tour of Hong Kong intermixed with loads of sex. The author did a good job of involving an actual story where I got to know the characters in this erotic romance. The dialogue was filled with light witty banter, but I’ll admit that being more of an American based girl and I didn’t get all of the references or jokes.

This is a beautiful, scorching, love story told from the perspective of Debra who is on the final leg of her world tour in what she tags her mid life crisis and Braams, the hot shot troubleshooter for an exclusive hotel chain. On the face of it these two people shouldn't have anything in common especially with the age difference as an issue. But 'age is nothing but a number' and 'you're only as old as the person you feel'. Okay I'm out of cliches but you know what I mean. The attraction between Debra and Braams was obvious right from the start and the two of them nearly set my ereader alight. But as with any love story, falling in love is not always an easy journey and these two will have to deal with their personal demons before they can find true happiness.
Ms McAllan has written a wonderful story you can get lost in. And I did get lost in her wonderful descriptions of Hong Kong culture, people and locations. So much so I now want to visit Hong Kong for real. What are you waiting for? Go and grab some Hong Kong Heat. You'll love it.

Immediately attracted to one another, they are unable to keep their hands off each other. Leading different lives and a misunderstanding tears them apart. Will they find their way back to each other and overcome?
Lena's Opinion:
I have to be honest when I say, I got to page 30 and had to start all over because I didn't quite understand what was going on. The language was a little rough for me. One scene seemed to run into the other and I just really couldn't keep up. I liked that this was a middle aged kind of romance and a few sex scenes were steamy, but I just really couldn't get into it.
That's not to say others have not enjoyed it or you won't, I'm just saying, It wasn't for me.

I had a really hard time getting through this story. The dialogue was rough, I didn't understand the slang, and it just didn't grab my attention. I know their are people that would love this book, but being the first one I read where the characters were not from or based in the US, it made it very difficult for me to understand.
Good points, the main character was older which was a nice change from the 20 something year olds, and I did empathize with her background in regards to her marriage and trying to find her new place in life alone. Her kids were supportive and cared about their mother which was also nice. So two thumbs up for that!
Would I recommend this book? No, but thank you for giving me the opportunity to read your story.
