Maurice Hamilton's informal lunchtime interviews with Formula 1 personalities have become an eagerly anticipated part of F1 Racing magazine each month. Using experience gathered in covering more than 500 Grands Prix, Hamilton has chatted at length with former World Champions, drivers and leading F1 personalities.
His relaxed style and friendship with his subjects has prompted revealing responses, many of which have never been made public before. These interviews are now published in Lunches with Legends, the first volume in a new series. 'These are guys I've known for years but never really had the chance to sit down and talk to in relaxed surroundings,' says Hamilton. Lunches with Legends allows us to reminisce - quite often with fascinating consequences.
The feature began with a lunch with his old friend Eddie Jordan, and such was the response that the interviews became a regular feature of F1 Racing magazine. Since then, interviewees have included Sir Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, Max Mosley, Murray Walker and Sir Frank Williams, and Lunches with Legends is a great way of gathering their unique stories from the inside of F1 under one cover. 'It's exactly what I would have wanted to read as a fan,' says Hamilton.
