Agent Sherri Walker needs a change of scenery. Her former lover nearly tanked her career, forcing her to take a leave of absence. A few drinks and a one-night stand with a sinfully hot stranger look like a great way to take her mind off her troubles, until that stranger’s past lands her in a new world of danger.

To say that Sherri’s life, both professionally and personally, had gone to hell in a handbasket recently would be an understatement. After the betrayal of her now thankfully former boyfriend and the mess he created for her at work, Sherri has been demoted, relocated and is now on an enforced “vacation” before taking up her new duties. She figures she’s lucky to still even have a career, but damn, how could she have been so blindsided.

Sherri is on a forced leave of absense from her work as agent, when she finds herself in the hotel bar, flirting with a gorgeous biker.
What was supposed to be a one night stand, turns into more when shes first tricked into meeting him again by the barkeep, and later abducted and smack in the middle of a shifter brawl.
Asher doesnt do second dates, but Sherri awakens something within, and when she ends up in the middle of trouble, he sees no other outcome than going in after her.

I am a huge fan of Elisabeth Staab's fangtabulous Chronicles of Yavn series and was beyond thrilled when I was given a review copy of her novella Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf. While I'm still bummed that my Heroes with fangs have come to a close, I'm excited about this new world that Ms. Staab created.

Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf was everything I've come to expect from an Elisabeth Staab story. It was action-packed, super smexy, snarky, and hooked me from page one.

This is a shortish book at around 160 pages. That works for many readers though, like a friend of mine who has limited time and says she really wants to finish a book, while still remembering how it started ;-) For me though, I prefer longer ones to give a more in-depth story. Still, its well written, and the characters and plots are very clear. I liked the intensity between

Sherri Walker is a good agent but after her last boyfriend betrayed her and almost ended her career Sherri is on forced leave before taking up her new post in Phoenix.

Asher Hughes is a lone wolf choosing to separate himself from his vicious father and the Los Lobos Muertos pack he keeps to his land but that doesn't the pack won't still cause him trouble.

Sherri first crosses paths with Asher when she arrives in town and Asher cross paths again at the bar

It was phenomenal! Ash is a great hero. He is super rough and tough, but has his soft qualities too. Everything was very well balanced and I really enjoyed him. I thought Sherri was great too! It was cool to see her take a walk on the wild side. One of my favorite things about this story was how you could tell Ash and Sherri each had a complicated history. They are mentioned in the book, but do not overshadow the craziness that the two experience in just a couple of days. Everything was exciting ...more

Shelves: arc, novella
From what I can gather this novella and the following ones make up a full novel. The first can be read alone, as it has some kind of resolution. But I can't say it has a strong, gripping writing. Maybe with a more tight plot, a smoother style, it would have been a better reading experience for me.
The idea is interesting, but the format is too short, and it takes a very skilled writer to give me a good feeling with shorter stories. Here I got a silly/messy world building, not enough characteriza

I really like this book! This is different type of werewolf story. It's also refreshing that there was no instant love. Just a sexual attraction and a what starts out as a one night stand. Ash is drool worthy. He is estranged from his criminal family, when he is dragged back in by his half brother. Sherri has been kidnapped and is to be sold as a slave. Of course Ash comes to the rescue. This is the first of a trilogy, and I have to say I bought the other two. I loved them! I was given a copy of ...more

I have several books by Elisabeth Staab and have loved each and every one. This book starts out with Sherri being rejected by her lover and then her bosses. They sent her to Arizona and lowering her in rank. She meets Ash and they connect to each other.. He would fight anybody who tried to hurt her including his family. There is romance and plenty of action in this book..
It is worth reading!!!

LOVE it...

I really love what this author did with these characters. She has a great sense of humor and it shows in this story. The story line it self was a very good read. I would definitely recommend this book.

Fresh out of the academy Sherri is demoted and reassigned. She decides to take some R&R and has a fling with Ash. A sensual, suspenseful paranormal romance novella. I enjoyed this read.

Never a dull moment

Good characters enjoyed easy background . Lot of sex but not extreme depth that you are bored without . Great!!!!

I really enjoyed Sherry and Asher' s story, in some ways a little different from the books that I usually read about shapeshifters.
Sherry and Asher are so different, between them is the classic attraction that can strike when opposites attract, but unlike the usual it started as an adventure, a one night-stand a really hot one, but " thanks" to Asher's half-brother they met again and everything is going to happen certainly is not for his brotherly love, indeed ...
I found the plot quite original
Sherri is an FBI agent who got played by her boyfriend (who apparently had a boyfriend!). Off to lick her wounds and get over the humiliation she is staying at a hotel. In the hotel bar she spots a guy in motorbike leathers having words with the bartender. Then he comes to her table with a glass of whisky. Tired of being the good girl, the one who follows the rules, the one who thought she had the perfect boyfriend who turned out to be using her for information for his boyfriend's illegal activi ...more

I love Shifer Romances...I have a real soft spot for them. I also adore Biker Romances so when I saw this book on Netgalley I just had to read it! Netgalley gave this book to me in exchange for an honest review.

This is a short book only about 160 pages so for me it really was a novella. Now this length works for many readers because they either read slower or are extremely busy that they forget how a book began when they finally get to end. In my case I like my books longer 300 pages specifical

Great book by a newly discovered author!

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really liked it. So much so, that I have gone and purchased some of her other books! This is a werewolf and human story - not starting out a love story, but an action story. Ash is a lone werewolf who left his pack years ago because he didn't like the businesses they were getting into. He has an adversarial relationship with his cocaine-addicted half-brother Jojo who is stealing Ash's waitresses for Jojo
Although this is book 1 (about the same characters in 2 & 3), it does end with a resolution. As it is a novella, the story line and character development is accelerated. For me, I needed a little more back story around Asher's family and the pack. The world does know about wolves, so that's not a surprise to anyone. Asher's brother, Jett, confused me and it's possible his character is developed more in the next two parts of this series. I did like the sister-in-law, Zoe, and it does appear s ...more

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for an honest review.

This is the 2nd time I have come into contact with this book in the "Seductive Supernaturals: 12 Tales of Shapeshifters, Vampires & Sexy Spirits" book. Elisabeth Staab really brings it when it comes to this story.

This book was everything the cover says it is "a sexy walk on the wild side." Agent Sherri Walker has had a horrible year and a vacation is needed big time. So when she meets Asher Hughes she can not resist the all

Lone wolf

This was a great book. Can't wait to read more of this series.
This is the story of Ash who is a lone wolf. He left his pack several years ago and has never looked back. He owns a local Were bar and mainly deals with other Were's, Lone Wolves, and humans. He is a love them and leave them type of guy. Until he meets her.
Sherri is a FBI agent and is on a short leave/vacation. She had a bad breakup and needs some time to de-stress. She meets a gorgeous man at the bar and decides to de-stre
Contemporary wolf shifter romance with a sexy lone wolf and a vacationing FBI Agent. This story would have been a lot hotter if it was a M/M romance and we do get a little of that with the gay brother, Jett.
Sherri Walker is on a force vacation before she has to show up to her new job in a new town after she gets in big trouble for dating the wrong person. So she is looking for some fun and rebound sex with the shifter, Asher Hughes. I liked the beginning when they are just having fun, but when A

Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf

Sherri's life has turned upside down. She has been betrayed by her boyfriend of two years and has been told to take two weeks vacation before being transferred. She's a good agent with bad luck picking guys.

Ash is a werewolf who left his pack and his family gives a whole new meaning to being disfunctional.

Ash and Sherri hit it off quickly. They are tossed into Ash's family drama when his half-brother kidnaps Sherri.
This is a fast read and full of action. I look forw

I enjoy this author's vampire series so I was excited to see she has started a new shifter one. This book/novella did not disappoint. Sheri is an agent who's fallen on hard times at work and she's on a forced "vacation". A few drinks one night and she ends up with Asher who is a shifter and has some problems of his own. Unfortunately his problems end up being hers and the two are thrown together in a way they hadn't planned. This was fun and sexy and I enjoyed both of the main characters and the ...more

New to me author, I'm always a fan of trying out paranormal romances. Sherri is taking a night to herself. After almost losing her job because of an ex, she needs time to herself and a release. Getting drunk and a one night stand sound like the perfect solution. What she doesn't expect is lone wolf Asher and the connection they make after their one night. But that connection doesn't go unnoticed by Asher enemies and Sherri becomes bait in a fight she had no stake in. As Asher works to free Sherr ...more

I think I'm in a reading funk. I normally love werewolf stories, but this one wasn't my favorite. It didn't feel like a romance. It felt like that aspect was secondary to the story, even though it was written with it threading throughout. If you like crime families and a border town feel, then you'll enjoy this book.

Funny, unpredictable, erotic,romantic.

Not only did this read have humour, it was sweet and romantic. When you thought you knew what was going to happen next a new twist was thrown in. Even the ending kind of left you hanging. Still, I feel this was a good story. I would read this again. Can't wait for the next book.

Elisabeth Staab loves passionate stories and happy endings. Her books have been called “emotionally delicious,” “action-packed,” and “gloriously snarky.” When not writing romance about vampires and werewolves and emotionally wounded boxers (oh, my!), she enjoys date night with her husband, reading with her kids, and marathoning her favorite books or TV series.
