Rate this book
Julissa has been loyal to Roman for years, but his constant cheating wears her down, leaving her feeling unloved and broken. As they spend more time together, an undeniable chemistry sparks between them. What begins as innocent conversations evolves into a deep, passionate affair. Before long, they fall in love and make the bold decision to get married.

Now, Julissa finds herself in an unexpected new life. Roman is not only her ex but also her stepson! His resentment burns deep, and he’s determined to break up their marriage at any cost. Fueled by jealousy and wounded pride, Roman embarks on a dangerous mission to tear them apart, exposing secrets and pushing boundaries.

As tensions rise and loyalties are tested, Julissa and Clyde must navigate the complexities of their unconventional love while fending off Roman’s relentless schemes. In a world where betrayal runs deep, can love truly conquer all, or will Roman’s rage destroy everything they’ve built?
“My Ex Is Now My Stepson” is an urban tale of love, betrayal, and the unexpected bonds that form in the ashes of broken trust.

This was Everything

Started this book late last night and couldn’t finish it in one sitting, but the moment I woke up, I was hooked! Babbyy, let me tell you… that Thanksgiving dinner scene? Whew! It had all the tea, drama, and jaw-dropping revelations. Family secrets spilled, lies exposed, and scandals unraveling left and right. This book delivered everything I crave in a juicy read. If you love drama, deception, and family chaos, this one’s got it all. Trust me! you will not be disappointed!

Big Daddy

This book is full of scandals, betrayal, and hoe-ish, lol. There are a lot of characters, but we are going to focus on the main three first, Clyde, Julissa, and Roman. Roman ain't worth a darn thing. He cheated, apologized, cheated again, and then played victim when Julissa left him for good. Baby, when I say she found comfort in big daddy Clyde, ummmmm. That man wined and dined her, then turned her every way but loose. Then he married her. That scorn man, Roman, left all of the family secrets out at Thanksgiving.

Nicole is a rider for sure. She is Julissas' realest friend, in my opinion. All of julissas friends are good friends, but Nicole is the most honest and straightforward.

Skye is a low-down dirty dog, and Monae should have stood on business and not taken him back. Because whattttt you found your cheating with my best friend sister in law after a big scandal.

Go read this book it's a great read that will keep you entertained.

This is my first time reading a book by this author. Great story line. A lot of drama that will keep you on your toes. Some a tad predictable, but in my opinion, there was never a time I found this story boring.

With that being said, let me touch on a few things that either bothered me a little, or plucked my daggone nerves a lot 🤣:

📚 There are multiple points of view in this book (pretty much almost every character in the book has one). So much so that their POVs literally run into each other. Sometimes the next sentence. I wish the author named each chapter after the characters themselves instead of the titles listed. It would've made it a little easier to follow.

📚I don't appreciate how a lot of characters came down on Julissa after she got with Clyde. Neither one of them were attached and their relationship, though quick, was beautiful.

📚Roman was a whole hoe and he had the audacity show his entire 🍑 because he just wanted to always conquer. If it wasn't for what happened at the end, he would've continued to act the same way.

📚Clyde's mansion security should've BEEN fired after Rolanda appeared in his bedroom smoking 🚬 that cigarette like she owned the place.

📚 Stephanie and Brenisha. They were doing entirely too much.

📚 Nicole and Zeke got what they deserved. There's a difference in being a friend and being judgemental all the time because you think your life is sweet. Also, how are you going to setup an intervention when your own skeleton is about to break out of the closet.

This wonderful age gap black romance is worth the read. Grab your favorite snack, drink, and enjoy.

Happy Reading! 📚

Who wasn’t Cheating!

An entire book where almost erybody needs to see a therapist. Every couple, the men cheated. I thought the focus was just in Roman, Julissa and Clyde’s unorthodox relationship. It’s been said you love who you love, but my ex’s father…I’ono. Granted Roman couldn’t stop cheating so no problem, let him go. But, Clyde, looking just like Roman, regardless of the BD or the Energy, is definitely odd. Julissa is in her thirties so being young isn’t an excuse. Being wanted and loved I think drove her to him. Clyde is just being a man in moving to his son’s ex. But not one couple held it down. I thought Zeek and Nicole were it, Keely the only daughter is nasty. Then thought it’d be acceptable to the family, girl bye. Lies, jealousy and deceit are all up and through this book. You’ll root for some and want to shake others..Keely. It’s messy! Again, I kinda understand the attraction, but I’d have to pass. But Julissa sure got comfortable and acclimated to the Billionaire lifestyle.

From the minute Clyde landed eyes on Julissa, he wanted to pursue her. So, imagine his surprise when she shows up at his house on the arm of his son, Roman. So, he fell back and when opportunity presented itself, he stepped in and claimed her for his own. Much to the dismay of some, Clyde helped heal Julissa’s broken heart, and showed her what real love is supposed to be. This brought jealousy, envy and deception from Roman and his scandalous mother, Rolanda. But, when folks go throwing stones, they better make sure they aren’t throwing them from glass houses.

This is my introduction to @jenspeaksvictory catalog, and I highly recommend this forbidden romance. My favorite character is definitely Boss Man Clyde. He didn’t play about his woman, and he was ready to go to war with any and everybody about her. Now, my least favorite character is a tie between Roman and Yolanda. Let’s just say that the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

This is my first time reading something from this author. I like the pacing and the storytelling style. The characters were interesting. Obviously the plot was of interest when the secrets were revealed. They were whoppers, but it made for good drama, along with the relationships, romantic and platonic.

The end may have appeared a little rush to some, but it came together nicely I think. There really weren’t any loose ends and I think the Author did a great job with the store. I would definitely read other work by this author. Her imagination is something else. I would recommend this book.

Messy but O so good!!

This was my first book reading by this author. I love the visuals of the characters and the Playlist. I enjoyed the way the story unfolded. Clyde made a bold declaration and stuck by it. That man commanded respect and it allowed Julissa to feel safe. Roman can't be mad at nobody but himself. He get his trifling ways from his momma. I like the plot twist as well. Overall this was a good book.

A Rollercoaster

This is a veryyyyy good book. Definitely a rollercoaster. So many story lines that told a great story. Roman was hellllllllll!!!!! Shit all the men were at this point. The way the story was written is tea. We get everyone’s point of view not just the main characters. We either need a part two or separate books for some of these characters because there’s a lot that needs to be figured outtttt.

Great read, crazy as ever!

This book was filled with so much drama! Julissa started off dating Roman then ends up with his dad, secret affairs are exposed, crazy employees in love with the boss, just crazy! Ex wife still a part of the family business, brother stealing from the family business to support his addictions. This one was wild but I really enjoyed it!

SMH!!!

This book had a good story line but I am giving it a 3 because there were too many descriptions. The houses, cars, clothes, etc. in my opinion the descriptions went overboard like the author was trying to fill pages. The story line was great.

I was in the mood for something messy and chaotic and this definitely delivered! This read like a messy, dramatic soap opera and kept me engaged from beginning to end Roman had way too much audacity for me and had me rolling my eyes the whole time but the ending was satisfying. 😏

Julissa and Clyde 💜

This book was so good. Even though it’s forbidden romance, Clyde did technically want Julissa first. The crash outs were to be expected but in the end love will always prevail. If you haven’t read this book go read it NOW!
