Can't wait to read it again when its been polished.
Corrigan is much more the Alpha when you read things from his POV. Love it.

DNF he's just not as interesting when everything is told from his POV. I recommend you stick to the original with Bloodfire (same author)

"Corrigan Magic" is the second novel in Helen Harper's "Corrigan" series. With Mack beyond his reach, Corrigan is having a difficult time concentrating on anything else. He would love to focus solely on finding her, but she is only one person and the Alpha Lord of the Brethren is responsible for all of the shifters in Great Britain. When a strange illness takes the lives of several shifters, Corrigan takes it upon himself to investigate the origins of this disease.
Overall, this was another good addition to this series. I like how Corrigan is a hands-on leader despite any danger that might cross his path.

Corrigan Magic begins with Corrigan still trying to find Mack. He knows she must be somewhere, but he has no idea where. And now it isn't just a matter of trying to find her because she has gone rogue. He knows it is something else, and he most follow his gut before things get bad.
This was basically the same book as the Blood Destiny series, but in Corrigan's point of view. We get to see more things on his end, and how he really felt about Mack. I have to say, reading these before reading Blood Destiny, I would probably hate Mack. She seems to mean to Corrigan, and Corrigan just wants her attention in a good way. I felt bad for him in this book, but I am excited about reading more in this series.

Corrigan Magic is actually an entire real story in itself. It could technically probably be read without having no prior knowledge of the story. This was probably because Helen Harper had no choice but to make it its own story. This is the time in the series where Mack and Corrigan have the least amount of story together.
Corrigan kind of really annoyed me, though. Helen Harper is trying really, really hard to make Corrigan this sweet, kind, thoughtful guy who is always looking after others before he looks after himself. Then Mack comes in and he is an angry beast who becomes insufferable and high handed. Every time. Harper is just trying to set up the end of the series so it makes sense this time around, but in the meantime it is just aggravating to have these two snap at each other all the time.

Mack is always a bit too Hostile for me....
The book was interesting though from Corrigan's POV, The red fever and the hunt for the cure with all the different factions was interseting.

I like this book even better than the first one of the Corrigan series.
Before I started this series, I read the Mackenzie Smith series.
The two series tell the same story from different angles.
Corrigan Magic contains a lot of brand new content which is not revealed in the Mackenzie Smith series.
This book helps understand reactions of characters better not only in the second volume but also for later volumes.
Once again, I found it tough to put the book down. Only slept for a few hours before I took it up at 4:30 AM to continue reading.
After finishing this review, I will instantly jump on to the next volume!

Corrigan Fire was a good read. I'm certain every subsequent book in this series will be the same. I could feel his frustration with Mack gone + the shifters becoming sick, including himself. What a great character!

The angst he experiences makes me want to hug him, in the best way of course! Joking aside, Corrigan has deep emotions for Mack & I wish, at this point in the series, she could have seen it & believed it. Instead, she ran from him to avoid looking and/or to run from her feelings. *sighs*

Corrigan *sigh*
I am enjoying reading these stories from Corrigans perspective, his character is so endearing.
One thing I must add though is editing people editing! If you are going to publish, even if it's an ebook please correct the grammar and punctuation, it's not hard.

I'm not going into the plot but I'm just having a really hard time getting into these characters and the plot line! There are 2 books left but I'm taking a break from these books.

Corrigan is turning out to be just as entertaining as Mack, and that's never more evident than in his second book, Corrigan Magic.
Summary:
Corrigan, Lord Alpha to all shifters, is frustrated. Mack has practically fallen off the face of the Earth, and every effort to find her has failed. But he won't give up the search. In the meantime, there are other matters that need his immediate attention. His efforts to modernize the Brethren and Way Directive are slowly coming along, but it seems overcoming expectations and centuries-old habits will be the hardest part. Also on his plate is keeping a pleasant affiliation with the mages. This proves to be a tedious and ever ongoing task. It only gets more complicated when the vampires decide to get in the way. Most worrisome of all, though, is the strange killing disease that's making its way through the shifter community. It's not a time for Corrigan to be distracted, but inevitably, Mack is always on his mind. Can the Lord Alpha keep it all together when the vampires are up to something suspicious, and he's forced to fight an enemy he's powerless against?

While the Corrigan series is described as the Blood Destiny series, just in Corrigan's POV, I very much like that, that isn't all it is. So far, the books from Corrigan's POV could stand on their own. We get to see so much farther with Corrigan since his and Mack's interactions are few. As for Corrigan himself, he's turning out to be a very capable leader. It's been hinted that he may be stronger than the previous Lord Alphas, and I'd really like the author to explore that angle a bit more. I love his hands-on approach to leadership. He has no qualms about getting his hands dirty, no matter the danger to himself, if it means helping his shifters. This, along with his determination to bring the Brethren into the current century, makes him stand out. I was also relieved to see someone curious about Mack's true nature and actually take action to find answers. Corrigan may not know the truth and may have the wrong idea, but he also knows Mack is different. Maybe even special. I thought we may have gotten a bit more than him reading a bunch of old books, but it's at least a start. Despite the little direct interaction with Mack, we do see a bit of forward movement in their tense relationship. Being in Corrigan's head, we get a lot of his feelings for Mack, and the confusion and frustration that causes him. Overall, I'd say this was a great addition to the series. In fact, I feel that Corrigan Magic was better than Bloodmagic. Now that it's known Mack isn't a shifter, I'm anxious to see how that affects Corrigan and the pack in the future. Especially if/when they find out what she is. ♡

Months into his position, Corrigan’s fearlessly upsets the old guard trying to drag shifters into modern times; he triumphs over a trio of vamps when they corner him; he’s established a fragile pact with the arch-mage. Also, Corrigan’s frustrated and distracted by his inability to locate Mack though a mysterious red-fever illness among shifter rises in priority.
An offhand comment from right- hand Staines, gives Corrigan a new idea to find Mack using vampires as he tries to charm and cajole them into a pact similar to the one with the mages. Meanwhile, the fever is spreading fast plus; Mack makes a surprise visit to the Mage’s ministry as well as Corrigan’s bedroom.

Okay, the Bloodfire series was so good, I couldn't resist this alternate perspective series for the same story. And it's fantastic! You get a unique story that intertwines with the bloodfire series, and you get all the fantastic perspective you could want from Corrigan. It's a light-hearted and exciting read.

I have a rule: if I can imagine myself going through life without having read a book, said book can't rate more than three stars. Having made that clear, I really liked this book. I just didn't adore it, nor did I fall in love with it.
