Poor writing. It was like reading a terribly written news report. I do not want to read what was happening with those characters but I want to live them. Every situation and every emotion. That's what a real fiction writer should aim to achieve.
And his attempt to be humorous looked terribly stupid. virat and kavya do something and they laugh together and I was like what the hell is happening. seriously, this is not how you write a novel. Make the readers laugh or smile or cry along with the characters.
And they watching b grade movies together? seriously are you out of your mind? you shouldn't have gone to this level to show they are best of friends, Sudeep. Think and do some homework before you write about a relationship, be it any.
Past the second chapter and I dumped the book back into the shelf. I'm sure I would never continue reading. Just got to be as horrible as his 'It started with a friend request. '

Wow it is so badly written. It is like the author woke up and thought about writing a book, without studying or practicing the craft. Books like these give a bad name to Indian writers.
It follows the same bandwagon of Chetan Bhagat (which is better written than this). As I was reading the horrendously structured sentences, I wondered if this even reached the editor before publishing. The next question was, who the heck published this? It was Random House India.
I usually feel guilty giving bad reviews to books since writing takes lot of effort. This seemed like an effortless mess.
Even if the story seemed sort of interesting ,the writing killed any potential it had. I gave up reading midway, as I was pissed that this passes off as a published work. VERY BAD, if you are a decent reader, do yourself a favour, skip it.

I've never seen such a terrible writer in my life.
I used to hate Chetan Bhagat, Durjoy Datta, but such poor is this book that I now admire them.

one of the best book i have ever read...this is a fabulous book..proud to be a lover of ur books sudeep nagarkar.The way each character was so spl in its own way..i just loved it.A true friendship, a true love..tat was just awesome..this book tels how to fight with life,how to love,how to value friendship and love,how just one person and one moment can turn ur life around in the manner u have never expected..one shud nvr miss this book...<3 <3

Sudeep Nagarkar's latest book- the 5th in his name- You're the Password to My Life has been read by me. Once again I got an opportunity to read his book before the official release. It's always a pleasure to review the book of a popular author like Sudeep Nagarkar. His last book had impressed me a lot and therefore the expectation with this release was at it's zenith. I can't stop praising Sorry You're not my type. One of it's kind book. Talking about this book, it's another one based upon love and relationships, the genre in which Sudeep believes to write time and again. As always, his writing style remains to be simple. He uses easy language and dialogues to make it easy for his target audience of age:15-25 to understand the book without referring a dictionary.
The book begins with a prologue that assures a twist somewhere between the story. And then Sudeep narrates a scene through which we are introduced to a wonderful friendship between Virat and Kavya. Later on, Virat falls in love with Mehak. Kavya helps him get in touch with Mehak and engage in a relationship. Virat believes in sharing everything with his friend, Rohan, whom he meets through an online networking site. Aditya (Did the name click?) is a great friend of Rohan who also narrates story from his PoV whenever needed in between. All these characters go through personal experiences in love and friendship. The ties shown between them is wonderfully carried by the author. Once again, Sudeep Nagarkar gives us memorable characters in the form of Virat, Kavya and Rohan. I somewhere felt that Aditya and Mehak couldn't do the magic that was expected from them considering their role in the story.
Overall, the book couldn't do the same magic as Sudeep's last book but it is surely better than his first 3. The story remains to be very normal in the first half and I wasn't impressed until the twist comes in the life of Kavya. Only after that, book picks up its pace and the story starts creating magic. If not for the climax, I would say Sudeep Nagarkar didn't touch my soul as he generally does with his books. Sudeep saves the book with the wonderful pre-climax and climax. After Kavya's tragedy, I wasn't expecting any other big twist in the book. But author does that and makes me happy. Whatever disappointment I had after first half gets balanced with the last twist in the book that was purely unexpected. I just wish he could have added some WOW moments in the first-half too.
I found many typing errors which disappointed me. Considering the writer and the name of the major publishing house associated with this book, a strict proofreading is expected. I also felt somewhere that the author have hurried in completing this book. Personal opinion. Also, the Hindi lyrics aren't an impressive idea to be inserted time and again. It's an English book and even the translation of Hindi songs can do the wonders. Author should work upon this idea next time. I feel that if the book could have been 20-30 pages more, author could have expressed a bit more than he was able to.
Summarily, I would say that a wonderful pre-climax and climax is what you should look forward in this new release. The character of Kavya is impressive and the decision taken by Rohan isn't predictable and therefore does not make this book boring and silly at one point of time. Considering how the story was going, I had planned 2.5 stars for it. But the way author takes the story to another level in the end, I would give this book 3.25 stars. Exactly what I gave to Chetan Bhagat's Half Girlfriend. So if you enjoyed that, you will enjoy this too. :-)

I am giving 1-star to this book only because there ain't an option to give 0-star. This is ideally a 2 page story unnecessarily dragged into 200 pages. I generally refrain from reading love stories, but for a change I chose this. This is the first book I have read of this author. To me the content was no less than a crap forget the shaayaris and hindi song lines added in between.

Read it just like a random fb post . Author tried to target those avid fb users and may be successful with his clichéd quote like sentences. Sloppy descriptions , you can only feel the bird view of emotions explained by him , as he keeps on saying random adjectives . Too filmsy. A Bollywood movie would have given a better experience for me , I mean it.

Sudeep Nagarkar has put his heart in depicting the bitter and sweet truth behind true relationships. Excellent quotes by the author makes the novel spicy and one can easily glued with the pages while reading.
Like: "A girl can be your Best Friend, Your Lover, Your worst, Enemy and your Worst Nightmare. It all depends upon how you treat her."
"If you have a partner who not only loves you but also respects your feelings and understand your emotions as well, you don't need to bother about what people say"
" We always ignore people who are close to us, and forget to appreciate their presence in our lives-what if you lose them suddenly?"
These are some of my favorites.

The book overall is heart warming. I did not like it in the beginning but it picked up after the first few chapters. Loved so many quotes and that is where Sudeep Nagarkar actually won my heart. The writing and narration are weak at many places and this is where I feel Preeti Shenoy and Durjoy Datta are doing a great job. If only, he can improve his narration style and the choice of words or instances, the result will be great I guess.
Anyways, liked how it ended and yes. Likes the twists and turns and liked how he connected so many different lives.

You're the Password to my Life was a truly touching and emotional story for me. It taught me the value of relations in our life and how maintaining them is not always that easy but once you have that connection with someone, they'll always be by your side.The ending was a particularly sad one and the fact that all the events mentioned in the book actually took place in real life makes it all the more interesting and adorable.
My favorite scenario was the deep friendship between Kavya and Virat. These two were also my very favorite characters. I love how wild, free and strong Kavya is and how loyal Virat is. He would touch every life he's a part of. The parallel situations going on in the book also holds a certain appeal for some readers.
Although the vocabulary, I can't put it any other way, was horrible, the storyline and the characters were extremely special. and I would definitely recommend it to everyone, especially romance novel fans.

I seriously want to know: don't authors get bored writing the same stuff? can you believe it is the sixth one penned by him? its not that I hate his writings but this one ( disgusted look)
here are a few things not to be forgotten:
> every one in three Indian romantic novels hold this crap: if a girl, so much in love with you, is not willing to take your call or unable to make a meeting of yours, then you are most welcome to assume that she has met with a horrible accident and alas! she will be alright within a couple of months.
> if a girl dumps a boy abruptly leaving him no clue for her wise action, you have no right to think she has ditched him or broken up with him..... at the end it will be concluded as a sacrifice..,. and most surprisingly every boy finds a good, decent and charming girl after a break up in order to fight him his odds .......
> I don't know if it is really true...... the protagonist is extremely poetic and romantic all the time irrespective of the circumstances and situations ...... too much of poetic lines is something very annoying for my taste.......
> ending the story with the unexpected death of the protagonist and passing an epilogue mentioning the lives of other characters just to show how much their livelihood have changed upon the same demise of their favourite person ..... I can show many novels ending with the similar note... .. only if you care to bother......
however, it is all known, no matter how much we rant these authors, they write the stuff for common Indian mass. 50% of Indians don't bother to pick the books up from the shelves so long the titles are cheesy and romantic.

So this is my honest opinion, and if you did like the book, then good for you. But I did not. I do not intend to belittle or degrade someone who did, in fact, enjoy the book. I am here to express my disappointment, confusion, and disgust at the very book itself. Maybe I should have gave it more of a chance, but it honestly bored me within the first few chapters.
Okay, what boggles my mind is that this has an overall rating of 3.85. ?!!!??????.............
......why ?? I was recommended this book by a friend of mines so I initially came in with no sour thoughts and had high hopes, or rather, good vibes. I couldn't get past a few pages of this dull, poorly-written, and absurd book. This book can be compared to a poorly written fanfic I can pick out on wattpad with a blind-fold. The plot is shallow, the characters are pathetic, and the writing is terrible and lacks any eloquency. It's a solid A for effort, but it honestly missed the mark as a whole. You can tell he tried, and worked hard, but for me, this wasn't the best. This book deserves, in my opinion, less than the rating it has currently. And it further confuses me that the author has a lot more books published, AND some are bestsellers. If his other books are like this, I think I'd rather stick to something else. I might give one of his other books a chance, but I was throughly unimpressed with this one.

The Unanticipated twists and turns gave me the urge to know what happens next .
Each and every character in the novel deliberately conveys a message that " life won't be like a cakewalk always & one has to go through its crests and troughs to find the real purpose of existence " .

Simply Amazing..! True Essence of FRIENDSHIP!
'You're the Password to My Life' is a book which makes you believe in Friendship and Love all over again!
The characters are described very well and you can actually visualize them. At starting, it will take you on a fun ride with all the crazy stuff filled in the friendship. Then, in middle of it, author makes you to think on the relationships. True love will always be there whenever you want a shoulder to rest on !
There are some funny incidents which will entertain you and keep you glued to the book.
Later, there are many twists and turns which won't let you put the book down unless you finish it.
The book shows you true friendship and a different side of true love!
This story fully mixture of joys, romance,comedies,sorrows and it clearly described the trust&hope in the Friendship .It teaches you some lessons for life and when you finish it, there will be a smile on your face and tears in the eyes at the same time ! ! !

Simple. Touching. Sentimental.

Sudeep made the story with good proposition of friendship and love. A story that can play with your emotions.
There were some good quotes in the book.
If you are 90s kid and have been through the era when there was unlimited free text messages that kept flowing your mobile, you can spot a lot of those messages you have received in the book. Me being from that period, felt a bit nostalgic of those good old days :)
The only thing I felt disturbing with the book is, there were too many quotes. It's true that they are good, but still the quantity in which they came in is a bit high. For every second page, reading a paragraph with lot of quotes is a bit annoying. They make the story move slow.

2- storyline sucks...

4- you can read only 1 line out of 10 and gets what sudeep wants to say

"You're thr password to my life" - A very simple story that epics the hills and valleys of emotions of man . Sudeep has portrayed friendship in a very mature level and depicted love in its high proficiency.

A very emotional story on friendship and relationships... The thing that bothered me while reading the book was the recurrence of cliched Internet Quotes that the author has fitted here and there!! If he had avoided it, the book would have been a much better one to read.
