Itty and Bitty: Two Miniature Horses

Rate this book
Itty and Bitty are a delightfully odd equine couple — Bitty’s a bit of a slob, while persnickety Itty loves to show off. Though opposites, they’re best friends, and no matter what they do —- watch TV, dance a jig, even drive a car — trouble follows! Dana Bauer’s whimsical watercolor illustrations are full of the visual puns children love.

There was another edition of this book with a different artist. The edition I'm reviewing has full color cartoons by equine artist Dana Bauer.

Quite frankly, the back cover was far more interesting than the book. Long time Breyer model horse collectors will remember the elegant piebald dressage champion Domino. His owner found two miniature horse yearling one Fourth of July, and just had to buy them.

This is a comic poem about the quirky pair. The piebald is brave and messy. The palomino pinto is vain and, well, not as brave. Their human companions are two little girls. Although marketed as a children's book, it's also aimed at horse owners of all ages. The hardest word is mini-martingales.
