A long time ago I used to write pulp novels for various publishers. Stewart wrote many too. We had some sort of dispute, I don't even remember what it was about, and I am no longer in touch with him. Almost 40 years have past, and I am an old man. I have two young kids.

This was a very eye opening read of the drug underworld of today! I would highly recommend it to everyone in our great country. It's one of the best reads I've had in a long time..

Short and snappy, fast-paced story set on the rough and ready drug-fuelled streets of 80s New York. Gritty in places as you'd expect, but I felt like the author only just skimmed the surface of this murky insight into crime, greed and addiction. Lots of street slang to make it more believable, but there are definitely better books of a similar vein out there.

I thought this would be great--considering the encomium by Burroughs senior (who the author in his hubris says "scratched the surface" as if his own writing went deeper) on the jacket, but overall, I was extremely disappointed.
