Received for an honest review. It was an amazing story for 3-6 years old kids. The book tells the story of 3 rats, brothers, that wanted a better life and for it they decided to leave the subway behind and choose a house. So they ended up as unwanted guest to Bumpkin's family birthday party. Snatch after being caught became a pet for Horatio but the remaining rats brothers decided to leave him behind and start new life far away as possible.
It was a pleasure to read and the illustrations are grea

This is an adventure starring three rat brothers called Snitch, Snatch and Sketch. At the start they live in the Bowling Green subway station under New York City. However, food there is scarce and Snatch is a big rat that is always hungry. With no prospects for improvement in satisfying their appetites, the three brothers develop a plan to move out into the city in search of more and better food.
When they arrive at a fancy house and discover the garbage cans they realize that there is more fo

Operation Bumpkin Birthday is a cute little book that has beautiful illustrations! The pictures are crisp and defined, sure to capture the attention of any young child who enjoys looking at pictures (as was with my little brother aged 2!). The story was well written and engaging and I loved all of the rats' names! The moral of the story, however, was portrayed kind of shakily. I got the moral, which I assume to be "do not be greedy", but it was interesting how the author showed this. It wasn't n ...more

Given To Me For An Honest Review

Operation Bumpkin Birthday by Petrina Kashoggi is a must read. This is a book that can be read together or can be read alone. The pictures bring the story to life and it is really well written. It is about 3 brothers, Snitch, Snatch and Sketch --- they're rats. The don't like living in the subway and decide to leave the city to find a better place to live. Before long they get hungry. Soon they find a house that they think might just be the one. So they decide to

If there ever was a cute book about rats, this is it. The pictures bring the story to life and the story itself is well written.

Three rats, Snitch, Snatch and Sketch, are brothers. But each is different. Snitch stutters, Snatch is a "foodaholic" and Sketch, well, he's just mean. They all want to eat and descend on the Bumpkin family. Horatio Bumpkin is having a birthday and the rats know there will be all kinds of food there. So......

This is a great book, one that can be read at bedtime for the

The children loved the book and the illustrations. This book was put together with care and much attention to detail. This will be a book that can last time and be passed down to newer generations.

We have read this book multiple times over the last year and a half. With each new birthday we read this one again.

The story was ok and the artwork for the animals and settings is good, but the faces of the humans can be rough. The face of the mother on page 25 is almost zombie-like.

I would like to thank Bostick Communications and the author, Petrina Khashoggi, for giving me a copy of Operation Bumpkin Birthday to read and review. Beautifully illustrated by Michael Graham, this story is about three brother rats called Snitch, Snatch, and Sketch who live in a NYC subway station. They are sick of eating trash and decide to travel outside to find something better to eat. Ending up at the Bumpkin's house overlooking Central Park, Sketch goes inside to investigate and finds out ...more
