In Rules of Seduction, we meet Dani Young… newly graduated and heading to LA to work with her dream company as a screenwriter. Drowning her sorrows in ice cream, she runs into a high school friend who headed to LA, and Elise is just the friend she needs in th

RULES OF SEDUCTION is a super quick and thoroughly entertaining read. It’s one of those stories that you know from the outset will be fun and sweet and totally devourable and will involve plots and schemes that will backfire in ways that will either be hilarious or disastrous or a little bit of both. And with the backdrop of Los Angeles, a hot tv series featuring an even hotter leading male actor, a jealous girlfriend, a sexy guy who runs the show, a leading lady with a nightmare personality, a ...more

The cover of Rules of Seduction is what first caught my attention. I was completely drawn to this book and wanted to know everything about it. Once I read the synopsis and saw what it was about I knew I wanted to read this book. It ended up being exactly like I thought it would be.

Dani picks up her life and decides to relocate to LA when the opportunity to work for a producer she’s been coveting arises. But as soon as she arrives and sees the company she was going to be working for has

Well... I must say that this book was nothing like I expected it to be. It was way better! A funny and charming story of a girl named Dani, who is trying to find her way in a new city, surviving at her new job as a behind the scenes intern on a popular tv show, and at the request of her friend spending time with star of show, Tate Lawrence. Not exactly how Dani had pictured her new life in Hollywo

Before I start my review, let me say this, do not judge this book by its title! The main character was not a vixen who was trying to become a seductress and sleep with as many men as possible. I promise, it wasn’t one of those deep, dark romance novels. Instead, it’s a light hearted New Adult book that was a very enjoyable read!

Meet Dani- she was a recent college graduate who has always had dreams of becoming a scriptwriter for Hollywood. Her passion and love for writing knows no bounds, and it

Jenna Mullins, thank you! I picked this novel simply because I liked the title and am delighted that I did. Dani and Tate are great together and it takes them a bit to actually become easy with one another since their first meeting went horribly wrong. Tate comes off as an arrogant twat but eventually shows his true colors which are a lot prettier. Dani is smart, witty, sarcastic, and good hearted. There are a few times in the story where I wanted to smack Elise, Dani's friend, and then smack Da ...more

A fresh, fascinating peek inside Hollywood...and all the delicious drama it entails. Fun, sexy, and so very addictive, Rules of Seduction has everything I crave in a book--charming characters, witty writing, shocking twists and turns, and a relatable heroine I can't help but root for. And did I mention the boys?? I can't wait to see what Mullins does next!

When I first read the synopsis of the Rules of Seduction by Jenna Mullins, I admit I was excited. It sounded fun, slightly goofy and the type of book that would have just the right amount of romance and fun without all the 'woe' you often see in other new adult books.

Initially it started off well and I really enjoyed the book. Dani is actually a quite fun character to read about, but as the book went on I didn't like how she became a little too 'yes' to everything even when it was going against

Light, fun Hollywood adventures with a lot of lying! Everyone's lying! When everyone's a liar, you know what that means - my favorite kind of confrontation scene at the end, with riveting tension.

The premise of the book wasn't exactly appealing to me, but I received a free copy from the publisher as thanks for reviewing one of their other books, so I gave it a shot. I'm really glad I opened this up though! Yeah, I took awhile to read it, but once I passed the fifty percent mark, I was in for the

ARC given via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Rules of Seduction is about Dani Young, fresh out of the Midwest (Chicago) on her way to live her dreams in L.A. However, when Dani arrives in L.A. things are not exactly at all how she planned for them to be. In fact in seems like all of her well crafted plans and dreams are smashed into smithereens within the first day of her arrival. Lady Luck however must actually be shining down on Dani because she runs into an old friend w

Many thanks to the author for providing an ARC!

I love this book! It's the funniest I've read this year so far. Even though it's a little predictable, it makes total sense. I love these characters! Dani, Elise and Tate made lots of mistakes. It could be weird to say that one of the things I liked the most was how honest they are. But they are!! Even though they're wrong, they know exactly what they're doing and how bad this could get. It's really difficult when you don't want to hurt anyone.

This was such a fun and lighthearted read! I read the book in one seating!

I've always loved stories about celebrities, falling for celebrities, etc and just basically Hollywood. It has a slight Disney feel to this book. I love her books of rules! They are adorable and witty! All the characters are so different from each other and I love how Mullins work that out.

I have a slight issue on Dani agreeing to her best friend's request. Because as soon as the topic came up, I smell trouble. And I know

I pre-ordered this months ago, cause the blurb made it sound good, and had honestly forgot till I opened my kindle one morning! This was, from start to finish, a thoroughly delightful book! I loved that the main character didn't come to Hollywood for normal reasons - it was refreshing. The whole supporting set of characters are really well written and developed - I can totally imagine all of them as I was reading! As I got to the end, all I wanted was another book with this cast of characters, w ...more

This was a cute story. I enjoyed Dani and her journey navigating Hollywood in hopes that she'd be able to fulfill her dream of directing her screenplay. Add to that, her budding relationship with TV bad boy, Tate Lawrence, and you had the perfect mixture of fun, humor and romance.

For anyone that enjoys a fun read where you can loose yourself for a few hours without being overwrought, RULES OF SEDUCTION is definitely one to think about picking up.

So this book is way, way out of my typical comfort zone. I don’t tend to read a) cute contemporaries or b) Hollywood romances, and this is both. But after discovering Dahlia Adler’s thoroughly fabulous cute-contemporary-slash-Hollywood-romance Behind the Scenes last year, I figured maybe it’d be good to venture out of my comfort zone once in a while. (My comfort zone basically consists of a few things: 1) MAGIC. 2) Politics

'Rules of Seduction' is a fun and light-hearted New Adult contemporary romance that takes place in Los Angeles. The story follows our main character - Dani Young - as she moves to LA after graduating college, in the hopes of pursuing her dream of becoming a screenwriter/director. The opportunity of a lifetime appears out of seemingly nowhere - Dani's ex-BFF Elise, who just happens to be an actress on a hit TV show, offers Dani a job on the show. When I picked up this book, I thought it was YA. I don't know why I thought that--I guess for some reason, I thought that all books published by Paper Lantern Lit were Young Adult. When I started reading, I thought this book was New Adult. But I quickly figured out that this isn't really new adult. It's adult, just without sex. Or kissing.

When Dani moves to LA, she experiences a huge blow. The indie studio she moved to the city for has closed its doors without letting her know, and she becomes a jobless filmmaker in her first few hours in the city of angels. Luckily, her new roommate Brit is kind of awesome, and cheers her up and accepts her even though she can’t yet pay the rent. Her job situation turns around quickly though, as Dani

Rules of Seduction is an adorable new adult novel about the inner workings of Hollywood and what it takes to make it in the business. With a fun cast of characters and an awkwardly cute romance, it’s a quick read for contemporary fans.

Dani is both the best thing about Rules of Seduction and the worst. She’s an adorably awkward girl who is so easy to relate to but she is also extremely naive. She’s on her own for the first time and she’s just moved to LA. She wants to be some big time director of

In fourth grade, Jenna put her classmates into an essay about fire safety, and they laughed the entire time she read it aloud. Since then, she's been writing with the sole purpose to entertain other people. Fire safety, however, fell to the wayside when she accidentally set her grandmother's bathroom on fire when she was 12.

In 2010, she moved from Indiana to Los Angeles to intern at E!, and for th
