Quarterback Draw is a standalone in the Play by Play series. This is my second book I’ve read from this series and I’m slapping myself because I don’t know why it took me so long to read them.

Quarterback Draw is a cute, make-me-happy kind of read that is PERFECT to read in between those serious books.

Grant is a football player, quarterback to be exact. He’s doing a promotional shoot in Barbados and he’s paired with a model. The model is beautiful Katrina.

I could stare at it all day. But do I really want to read about a supermodel and a famous quarterback?

Recommends it for: Fans of the series
I hate to say this about one of my favorite series...but color me a bit disappointed. There's nothing wrong with the writing, but I feel that maybe Jaci Burton has run out of ideas. I wasn't at all wowed by the characters. It seemed like they had everything going for them and no real hurdles to climb that made them interesting. Yes, the heroine, supermodel Katrina Koslova had a raw deal as a teenager (17)--her mom got sick and died and her father couldn't deal and skipped out, leaving her to rai ...more

I think this series has run out of steam. The covers are still hot and impressive as always, but the characters and stories have become blah and boring. At least I got it free from the library.
Holy droolworthy cover!!

Really enjoyed the new addition to this series. It was sexy and funny. Looking forward to the more of the Cassidy family. the banter between the boys was great.
Grant and Kat, really liked their story. And Kats brother and sister really drew me in.
Can't wait for next one.

Grant Cassidy is a football superstar and Katrina Koslova is a supermodel, who meet while doing a swimsuit photo shoot. Their explosive chemistry is undeniable.
It wasn’t a kiss. It was an almost kiss, and it was damned frustrating. Her lips were right on his, but he couldn’t move in. He wanted to jerk her fully against him and take what she teasingly offered. Their gazes were locked, their bodies entwined, and it was a good thing cold water rushed over him, because he’d never been hotter.

One of my favorite books in this series.Angst free book which is what I wanted to read.I must say, that once this couple started doing the deed,it was non stop bunny action.Enjoyed the H/h's siblings ,will look out for the next in this series which just came out.

I don't know but this story line about the sexy NFL quarterback and the hot supermodel immediately made me think of the the above real life couple. It was ok. The best parts were the scenes that included Grant's family and I adored Katrina teen brother but her sister was way too annoying. Her irritating comments may have been intended by the author to seem cute but they just got on my last f******g nerve. The author needs to note t

I think that I'm finally reaching the point of being a little bored with the Play by Play series. Number Nine features a star quarterback and a super model (picture the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit variety) and, even though there was nothing seriously wrong, I just didn't feel much for either of these two characters. It was more a slam bam thank you ma'am type of telling and no depth in the presentation. The story was nothing different -- just changes in names and places. The family touch kept me ...more

Quarterback Draw (Play-By-Play # 9) - Jaci Burton

** Won an ARC from Authors website for an Honest Review.**

Grant Cassidy is a Ruggedly , Handsome Quarterback for the St. Louis Traders, who has no problem playing the Field .During a Game or in his Personal Life.
Until he meets a Beautiful, yet naïve model at a Photo shoot in Barbados and his world is turned upside down.

Can Grant tone down his womanizing ways in order to settle down with a family of his own?

Jaci Burton continues her Play by Play series with book nine, QUARTERBACK DRAW. It’s another football player story, but oh no no Grant Cassidy isn’t just any hot quarterback, he’s also an absolute sweetheart as well. Grant doesn’t realize he is looking for the perfect woman for him until he meets Katrina Koslova. As a supermodel, Kat has the beauty and the brains to catch Grant’s attention, but this story isn’t your average jock meets beauty cliché.

What makes this story work for me is
I have to admit that I have been wanting to read this one for a while now. The blurb alone caught, and held, my attention.

We meet Grant Cassidy, a quarterback, on a photo shoot for a sports magazine. He is gorgeous, smart, and very interested in our heroine, Katrina Korsova. Katrina is a supermodel who has been everywhere for photo shoots but relishes the time she has to go home and stay with her brother (Leo) and sister (Anya). During the course of this story we also meet the rest of the Cassid

Loved Grant! He was almost too good to be true. Until you met his family then you know why he is so very awesome. The Cassidy family is to die for. Grants 3 brothers (fingers crossed this means more books) are funny, smexy and very competive. Grant’s baby sister had to deal with 4 overbearing, trouble making, always competing older brothers I don’t think there is anything or anyone she can’t handle. Grant’s parents

I want to say Welcome back! Finally!

When I read the description of the book - quarterback and supermodel - seriously? I expect another disaster. But I am very glad that I survived two previous books and read this. It back to what it was in the first part of Play by play series. I couldn't be happier about that.

If you have not read the previous parts you can safely start from this. Here we get to know a new Cassidy family. This is about Grant Cassidy. He has three other brothers and a sister. It

Not one of her better efforts and not worth the outrageous pricing of her novels on Kindle/Nook.

The chemistry between the main characters was a little lacking. Because of this, I think, Burton's somewhat odd and stilted way or writing (not all the time, but sometimes...I find her to be a very uneven author) seems more pronounced.

The parts in Texas with the family were strong, and the meeting of the 2 characters was also strong. The stuff in the middle? Not so much. This was disappointing as I wa

Quarterback Draw is a hot romance featuring the supermodel and the star quarterback, though neither fit your typical stereotype at all after you get to know them. Grant is a hottie that is for sure, but he is also a really great guy. Katrina has a lot of issues and has had a rough time of it, though she manages to hide it well, that is from everyone except Grant. Of course there is the romance, the chemistry, the hot sexy scenes, but there is also something additional in this is rooted ...more

There's something off about the writing style of this book. The vocabulary and syntax don't read as consistent with J.B.'s Play-by-Play series style even after accounting for changes in story environment, mood, and unique characterizations.

Most of Katrina and Grant's relationship challenges seem self-manufactured and overblown. There's also a lot of coherent chat during the sex scenes. It undercuts the intensity of their chemistry. Quarterback Draw is still an easy breezy fun read.

Edit: Tried to reread it and can't stand Katrina. DNFing it.

Original review:
I'm feeling quite conflicted over this story. I enjoyed the hell out of it, but there were quite a few times where I wanted to throw the book into a fire. Mostly each time Katrina tried to convince herself that being independent meant being alone and miserable. The time spent with Grant's family was the best part of the book. Jaci Burton should just write about the Cassidy Family because that was hilarious, they totally

Is it shallow to say that I absolutely love the covers for this series! These guys are super hot and sexy as all get out. Eye candy all the way.

This one involved footballer Grant Cassidy and supermodel Katrina Korsova. I liked Gran'ts approach and his overwhelming behavior towards Katrina. She's basically a stick in the mud (too busy being sensible and dependable to have any fun) and Grant forces her to think outside the modeling box. I loved the way he interacted with Leo and Anya. My heart just wasn't into it. I found the story's boring, the plot's predictable and kinda repetitive/similar to previous books , and I skimmed a lot and almost giving up. Anyway, i love the series, besides it's jaci burton and I'll devoutly waiting for the author to give me another car racer to read. Maybe someday in the future.
Writing is as good as always but just nothing new.....Love Jaci Burton but do feel this series has run out of steam!

I've been so in love with Jaci Burton's Play by Play series -- with all her smokin' hot eye candy covers and almost too literal 'Greek gods of sports' -- I've now dubbed her as "Queen of Sports Contemporary Romances". I binge read the whole series from book one to book eight and honestly fell in love with every single one of these jaw dropping sport gods and their respective love affairs, and with Quarterback Draw, this book just made me fall in love

Leo looked at Anya and gave her a short nod. "This is true.”
