I was always a little confused with this novel.
The end just felt so final yet there was a whole other book to go!

The thing I dislike about these GNs is that you lose the emotional connection you have with certain characters.

I did forget how funny Ra was.

Not sure if it is because I remember this book more or it was more obvious but I noticed scenes had been severely shortened.
For obvious reasons however, you do lose helpful context.

The art in this book was even better than in the Red Pyramid. The plot had a very similar structure as the last book, with conflicts arising and being solved rather conveniently. Nevertheless I was entertained the whole way through and laughing for most of the chapters.

Here's one thing that really bothered me. The initiates Sadie and Carter gather up for magic training in Brooklyn are all very young, 9-15 years old. Where are these kids' parents? If I were a mom and two teenagers showed up at my door, asking to take my kids off to an invisible magic academy in New York without parental supervision, I would say, "Ha. That's funny. You're funny. Now get the hell off my property." Then I would slam my door and promptly look up whether you can get a restraining order against a minor. So again, how did Sadie and Carter convince these parents to give up their kids? If they used some kind of mind-warping magic, I'd have to call them out on their less-than-wonderful moral standards.

Another thing I didn't understand was Walt's family line. His family has been cursed since Tutankhamen to die as teenagers. So either every single one of Walt's ancestors had children at an appallingly young age, or the curse is complete bullshit.

Despite my ranting I did love the book. I just like calling authors out on their plotholes.

I liked the artwork in this book even more than the previous one! All the action-scenes were illustrated very well! My only issue was that this felt rushed. There were many different scenes in the original novel and it would have been better if the graphic novel expanded on those scenes. Overall, this was a nice and quick read!

I loved this one. I loved the book and reading it in this format was just as good.
The art is amazing and I can't wait to read the next graphic novel.

“En ocasiones necesitamos tiempo para valorar algo nuevo…algo que podría hacernos mejores.”

El Trono de Fuego es una divertida secuela , que sigue en la misma línea que el primer libro, pero que he disfrutado menos que La Pirámide Roja ya que hay cosas que no me han gustado nada como el triángulo amoroso y la inmadurez de Carter y Sadie. Por lo demás, considero que es una novela gráfica muy visual y llena de colores, ideal para adentrarse en la mitología Egipcia.

The Throne of Fire: The Graphic Novel by Orpheus Collar, Rick Riordan is another great graphic novel for kids. This follows Carter and Sadie on an adventure on their own, with a little side help. Exciting and fun to read. Kids will love this series. Great illustrations and lots of action. I got this book from the library.

Being as I am not a graphic novel fan, I wasn't expecting to enjoy THE THRONE OF FIRE, therefore, I wasn't let down, but I also wasn't surprised it wasn't appealing to me.

I have not read the original The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan, so I did not have any prior knowledge to base my opinions of this graphic novel on, however, I will say the following positives:

-The characters were easily distinguishable
-Each character had their own unique quirk that made them stand out from the others
-ACTION-PACKED!
-Quality illustrations I found engaging nonetheless
-Conflicts are solved in a convenient, yet hard to predict way

Now onto the cons:
-Why the hell is Sadie so young?? And Carter, too??
-Mediocre writing -- I've seen better, but I've seen worse. Nothing about it stands out to me in a positive or negative way, ya know?
-I would've liked it a bit longer, to be honest, although I understand the whole point is to condense the novel and show the storyline through a different lens
-I'm just off the mark of the age group this graphic novel is target towards, and because of this, I thought the humor was childish, immature, and boring
-There is just a lot happening on each page its hard to keep up with, especially because it is mostly dialogue
-While I found the illustrations engaging as I stated above, it was difficult to find the motivation to continue with THE THRONE OF FIRE as it wasn't holding my attention for more than a few pages before I had to stop reading (It took me like two weeks to get through this when it should've taken me under two hours)
-Character development is hardly existent (I understand its the second book in a series, but still)
-Pointless romance

All I really have to say about THE THRONE OF FIRE is eh. Would I recommend it? Yes, if you are someone who has a.) read the original book, b.) likes graphic novels and c.) is interested in being filled in on some of the details glossed over in The Throne of Fire. A pretty specific group, I know, but what can I say? This is definitely one of those It was for me! or Nah, I'll pass books with no middle ground, I can tell you that much.

Nice to see Sadie, Carter, Amos, and Bast again. Also nice to see the new characters including the initiates. Glad they were able to find Ra. Hope Bes will be better soon. Also hope Amos will do well as the new Chief Lector.

RIP Michael Desjardin.

Can't wait to read more graphic novels of Rick Riordan's books!!!!

I quite enjoyed this one. It stayed true to the novel which I enjoyed very much. The illustrations were good, but not as good as the one from the lost hero graphic novel. This one was very action pack. I love both Carter and Sadie. They are very bad-ass and strong characters.

I didn’t love this adaptation as much as I enjoyed the first one. I found that there were so many scenes that had been cut and shortened to fit the graphic novel, and it felt like the story suffered a bit from it. There wasn’t much explanation of what was happening or why, but then something would come up later as if the reader had all the knowledge.
I also didn’t really feel the emotional connection with Bes. I love Bes’s character, and he’s one of my favourites in the novels. In this one I didn’t feel the connection to him, or the connection between him, Sadie and Carter.

Again a stunning cover design but the art style in the graphic novel itself is rather disappointing 😞
Although I think it's definitely better than in the 1 Volume ☺️ and overall I liked the visualization of the story and various characters ☺️

So good!!! I keep remembering why I loved Kane Chronicles so much!!
I like the way these Graphic Novels have been made and they include everything necessary for the story to stay the same. Of course I miss the humorous parts like chocolate Lenin etc. This series woke my interest for Egyptian mythology and it never died after, so thank you! This is fast paced and action filled but also easy to keep up. I love the characters and just love the series.
I can recommend this to anyone who likes Riordan's work and would love to experience it differently.

One thing that bothers me a little is that Sadie and Carter are so young!! Sadie is thirteen! But no matter that. This is amazing and can't wait to start the third one.

Whoo!!

In what I can only describe as a feat of might and mysticism, the Kane family has once again averted world destruction!! And this was the first graphic novel I've ever read!

To be perfectly-honest, all those pictures were cute as buttons. Though, I still kind-of prefer good, olde-fashioned novels...Or novels which just have small images of certain languages within them. (Such as the Silosolish language I created or even Ancient Egyptian.

All-in-all, this was a wonderful novel to read. And I would highly-recommend it for anyone, who needs their own, youthful, fantasy reading fix. No, I won't spoil the story by telling you what my favorite part(s) were. You'll have to find out on your own...Cheers!

This is the second book in the graphic novel series adaptation of The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan.

The story is a condensed version of the novel and the illustrations are very boldly colorful, filled with dramatic scenes and scary-looking monsters.

The narrative is comprised mainly of dialogue, and with so many characters, it is nice to be able to put a face to each one to help keep them all straight. Overall, it's a fast, entertaining read and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

while this story is fun and the artwork is cool, condensing a 450 page book into a 150 page graphic novel means that a lot of the original humor and magic is lost. the pages are densely packed with text and every plotline is only briefly described. the characters aren't explored well, making it difficult to connect to any part of the story. this ended up feeling like a short youtube explainer of the real book. a rare case in which i wish the adaptation was both longer and deviated more from the original to fit the format.

These stories have taken me longer to get into not because they aren’t good but because I have to work harder to remember or Google Egyptian mythology. I am loving that the graphic novels have come out, they are so helpful with the visuals of the story. The Egyptian mythology isn’t necessary to understand the story but it does help. I love learning new things and these books lead me down new paths. What a great story and wonderful examples of heroes for today’s kids.

I love this series even more than I did when I first read it last year! These characters are awesome and it's so fun to read! I loved every moment of it!

The illustrations are great too! This is a book-to-graphic novel adaptation done very well!

The writing felt a little more childish in this one and some of the art was a little weird, but I still really enjoyed this one! The ships are finally beginning to sail and it makes me happy. 😂 Really excited for the last one! It's nice being able to revisit this world!

This novel was a lot more action packed and I do appreciate that. The plot was fun and kinda cliche in an adorable kids way but that’s where all the fun is. The illustration can be a little off sometimes but I did enjoy it

I am just not a fan of the art and the story is something that I loved when I was younger but it does not have the same effect on me anymore unfortunately.
